A-1 Roofing's Kanga Roof

I didnt use the deal because the way it was set up was not clear and I wasnt interested in what they were offering.

The cost was far too high, as they wanted about $1000 and I saw the same work in their reviews for only $500. They were very responsive, though.

I originally had A-1 Roofing come look at possible repairs around my chimney. They noted I needed a new roof and work on the chimney, and showed me pictures as they explained everything. The chimney required a mason, and A-1 was willing to work with me around his schedule to let him complete his work first. Their assistant at the main office was always very pleasant to speak with on the phone, answering my questions or getting back to me quickly when she needed to ask another. The job supervisor was very professional. Since the army had sent me on temporary duty during the roof work, the supervisor was kind enough to send me texts and phone calls to keep me updated. I highly recommend them for other jobs. They do good work and struck me as a considerate, professional business.

It went well. They were quick. With the sun tunnels, there was a little bit of a leak after a nice hard rain. When I called them they were out there within a few hours.

They did a pretty good job. In fact they were very patient. When I first purchased the Angie's List deal, it was last fall, and I decided to have some work done in my attic to seal my attic connections sealed, and other work done up there, before I brought them in. They were very patient in extending the deal probably 9 or 10 months before they got here, and when they did get here, they did excellent work. They measured it out, and becuase of the work I had done, I got some additional insulation put in. The amount of square footage that I needed from the original estimate was lower, because of other extra work that I had done. They came on time, they cleaned up on time after they were done, and I am pretty satisfied with the work.

There was no proactivity on the part of the company to schedule service.

They are extremely punctual and gave me immediate response. They came, looked at everything and we decided what was going to be done. I called them and they came out the in half an hour and did the job.

Eventually, it went very well. There were a number of difficulties at the beginning. I purchased the service in September and was responded to promptly by the main office to schedule the appointment for the inspection and written bill for the work that would be done. A worker came out on October 3rd and did the inspection as scheduled. I was told that I'd need more insulation than the base amount in the ad due to the size of my attic, and I was given a price which was very reasonable. I would be charged an additional $51 for the additional 100 sq ft of attic space I had. The worker seemed thorough and knowledgeable and respectful. The work was scheduled for Friday, October 25th from 1-4 p.m. I received a call prior to this time telling me they would have to cancel my job because they'd learned that one of their installers was not performing the job properly. They had to go back to these jobs and correct the problems caused by this, now former, worker and were going to be very behind on completing any new jobs. I was given the option of getting refund or scheduling at a later date. Since I didn't think I could get a similar price, given what I'd read about how much this work costs, I decided to reschedule. I also appreciated the main office worker's apologetic, polite manner and their honesty and commitment to fixing previous customers' jobs. I also appreciated them giving me the option of getting a refund as this would mean lost business if I'd have chosen that option. I was called back and the work was scheduled for Monday, December 23rd between 12-2 p.m. arrival. Not a great time as family had come into town and we were preparing for Christmas, but the delay had gone on long enough. I wanted the work done before January winter hit. The 12-2 time came and went without the job starting. I called to see what was going on and was told they were on their way from a previous job. More time passed. The truck arrived with one worker, but the second worker was not with him, so he couldn't start the work. He said the other worker was still at the other job doing something. He ended up sitting in the truck for about another hour. The second worker arrived eventually, and the work began. The job was estimated at 2 to 2-1/2 hours, so since they started around 3 p.m. they finished up around 5:30 p.m. It was dark outside and very cold. (Your door has to remain propped open as they blow insulation from their truck into your attic through a long tube that snakes from the truck to the attic). They completed the job, showed me what they had done, cleaned up after themselves. I gave them a D in punctuality because of the delay on the day of installation. I do understand that the work couldn't be started with one person. I also understand that the other worker had something else going on. I just can't ignore a delay as long as it was. A job that was to take 2 to 2-1/2 hours, now required me to stay home all day, much of it spent waiting. After waiting for the job to get rescheduled, this just felt like too much to ignore. I gave them a B on Professionalism. If I could give a B+ I would, I just felt like I can't give an A after all of this. I do give them much credit for how it was handled and in this way they earned a vote of confidence from me, especially since the work was eventually done very well. And I would use them again, but not until I know they are fully staffed to handle the amount of orders they have coming in.

They are just now finishing up. It was a long job. They started the the job last October and it cost $1500 in additional charges. It was $99 for the insulation but, then they found holes from the squirrels, so they replaced the fascia board. My only complaint is, they took too long. They did a good job. The thing that I would recommend to them is, be more timely and professional. They did not communicate with me properly. They were supposed to come and did not. They kept saying that it was due to weather. I would not use them again.

It was very difficult scheduling the appointment. When i finally got them to come out they looked at the attic and told me I needed much more than insulation. The estimate was for about 3 thousand dollar. This was not what I was expecting so I would like a refund.

The service was good but I do not remember how long after I purchased the big deal that they came out. There were no extra charges after they came and they did an excellent job. My experience with them was excellent overall.

Owner Maurice Harrison patiently answered all my questions in detail, making it easy to understand. The work team was prompt and efficient, arriving just when they said they would and they put in a 10-hour day to get my new roof done before it rained late that night. Maurice, Samuel and Barbara were very pleasant to work with and helpful in every way. I found A-1 Roofing (AKA Kanga Roof) to be exceptional, honest, thorough and reasonably priced. It gave me "Peace of Mind" in knowing they only used skilled labor and quality roofing materials, backed-up by their 10-Year "No Blame" Guarantee, transferrable to any new owner should my house be sold. Without a doubt, Kanga Roof has been our best roofer, and I can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

Everything was done pretty well and we were happy with the service. Scheduling was a bit of hassle. It was not immediately clear that it would take two visits. They arrived once to take measurements and then another time to do the actual work. There were two people here doing the work and it took about 3 hours to complete the job.

They inspected everything but I was not here when they did the actual work. They were very good to schedule with and had a quick turnaround. They gave me a written report and followed up well afterwards

No email was received within 2 days. Received email from AL to ask if assistance was needed to schedule appt and I replied yes. No response from provider. Sent an email to provider 1 week later. Received reply from provider stating it was waiting to hear back from AL about discrepancy in price of service offered. The price increased $173 from the initial special that I purchased. I will seek another company to assess my roof condition and I will reconsider using A-1 as well as other AL providers.

Arrived about 1 pm; time frame was between 8-11. Second workman may have been a trainee as the other man seemed to have to assist him at all times. They were on the job until 11 p.m. Friday evening and still were not finished; older workman returned on Sunday approximately 5 p,m. and finished the work on the roof.

There was no follow up later within that year as promised I would not use this company again

We already answered this survey. We called them first back in October (I think) and had to call several times to get scheduled the first week in December. That was a measurment visit and the company rep wrote up an estimate for $1100.00 to do the whole attic at the recommended level. I had to call the office again to tell them no, we just want the Angeie's List deal and set up the next available date to do the work, which was at the end of January. Disappointing to wait so long. But the rep who came out and did the work did a nice job.

A1 roofing was very prompt in returning customers call after order was placed with Angie's List.

They were late in arriving, but once there, did a complete job.

As I did not need any roof repair work (having recently been inspected), I declined the roof inspection (which was fine once I explained my situation). Given the demand, it took a while to schedule the appointment. They were a little late but within expectations, and did a great job with the insulation. They left a few smudges here and there, but tolerable (thus the B grade). The overall clean-up was great. I can't comment on their repair work as non was done, but I certainly would get blown insulation from them again if I needed it.

Arrived on time and started to work immediately. Cleaned up and left. Excellent job.

I was pleased with the service. There was an additional charge for the caulking as the Deal only involved roof inspection but that was ok.

Very professional---good at explaining pros and cons of options.

He did a very thorough job and even repaired a leak. I was pleased with his services.
