First and foremost, the charges for the additional window contacts were ridiculous!!! When you sign up for monitoring, the equipment is usually FREE. Live and learn... Secondly, the contract... When I had ADT montoring in my last place, it was 19.99 per month It was a 1 year contract, after that, it was month to month. I loved it! It was reliable, the equipment was NEW. So, after returning from a 3 year tour overseas, I arranged for USA Home Security to come to my home and talk to me about getting my system up and running. The salesperson looked like he slept in his dilapidated van! He didn't wear socks, and he refused to sit on the sofa, he sat on the floor! REALLY??? When I balked at the 35.00 per month he wanted to charge for monitoring, he really ramped up his sales pitch! "Well ma'am, I can take your monthly fee down to 34.64 (big deal...) and since you work for the Federal Gov't. I can arrange for super fast response times by Federal law enforcement. I will ensure you get helicopters in the air, feds responding to the call...etc...blah...blah...blah..." I laughed and said "OK"...Knowing full well that this guy was full-of-it...but what can you do? Since the monitoring would be done by ADT, and I had good previous experience with them, I signed the contract. THAT BEING SAID...I asked for a 2 year contract since I work with the military and expected to go overseas again. Since there was no block on the form for a 24 month contract, the sales person told me to leave it blank. I did, AND BOY AM I SORRY!!! He created a little block for 60 MONTHS!!! I didn't even notice until I contacted the company (Aqua Finance) who the contract was submitted to, that it was actually (unbeknownst to me) a 5 YEAR CONTRACT!!! Well, after that, I pulled together all the paperwork and contacted USA Home Security's owner about this issue. The owner refused to take my calls. I sent them a certified letter to ask them to address my concerns, which they refused to sign for. My only recourse was to take them to small claims court, which would have been far more effort than I was interested in giving this issue. My contract runs out this May, after 5 long years, and I am currently looking for a new home security system. Needless to say, I won't be contacting USA HOME SECURITY! Stay far-far away from this company. What they do is illegal, they could change the contract once you have signed it, like they did to me, and then you are stuck paying for years and years. I did attempt to contact Aqua Finance on the matter. I submitted the forms that I had, which were NOT 60 months, they told me "too bad" ... our copy shows 60 months so that is what you are responsible for. When Aqua Finance sold my contract to another servicing company, they said "we can't just let you out of your contract. We will discontinue the service, but you will have to pay 350.00 for that." So, I decided to keep paying, and getting the monitoring, and will just look for some other company to do business with.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS PATHETIC. THE WORKERS SHOWED UP LATE AND STAYED AT MY HOME UNTIL 11:30 PM. THE SYSTEM DID NOT WORK AFTER THEY LEFT AND IT TOOK 2 MONTHS TO GET ANOTHER PERSON OUT HERE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS.
