Everything was fine. There were some issues with the work that they did, but the owner came out and quickly had them fixed. They gave me an estimate, which was less than the other quote I had gotten.

It has been over 2 weeks now and no more leaks. The old pipes from the tub drain were leaking. PVC pipes replaced the old drain pipes. A new tub overflow and drain stopper were installed. Instead of the old lever type stopper a new pull stopper was installed. We like this stopper better. The plumber was very professional and courteous and efficient. He came out and spent at a least 40 minutes diagnosing the problem. Gave an estimate for the work. I called the office and scheduled an appointment for the repairs. I found the office staff very efficient and courteous as well. When the plumber came to do the repairs he took care to cover up the work surface below the ceiling where he would be working (and clean up as well). The repair was completed and everything looks okay.
Description of Work: We had a leak coming from the 2nd floor bathroom into the 1st floor kitchen. Needed someone to diagnose the problem (where was the leak coming from) and estimate cost for repair. The Erickson plumber was prompt and efficient. He took the time to properly identify the leak and find exactly where it was coming from. He had to open a hole in the ceiling below and replaced the shower/tub drain and replaced the drain pipe and tub stopper and overflow. I have a standard 6' tub in my bathroom. The house is about 35 years old.

water heater repair

The plumber who repaired the toilet and replaced the water heater worked as though he knew what he was doing. He told me that he had started working for Erickson about two weeks prior to his visit to my home. At any rate, the toilet is fine. With regard to the water heater, he used my washing machine rubber pipe to take the water out of the heater before he removed the heater. After he was done, he forgot to re-hook the water hose into the wall. When I did a wash that evening, the water came gushing out of the water rubber hose and went all over the floor. When the washing machine overflowed, I didn't realize at first where the water was coming from, so most of the water ended up on the floor. Luckily, I was home so I finally just stopped the machine and luckily no water got onto the wooden floor in the rest of my small apartment. When I called the company to report the problem, someone who lived on the West Coast (Oregon/Washington) took the message. She didn't know how to pronounce or spell Baltimore. She asked me what I wanted and I told her that I would like to hear from the company that evening just to understand better what happened and when someone could come and fix it. I asked for someone really experienced to come out. I was really upset. No one called until the next day. The message left with the company was that something was wrong with my washing machine!! That morning, the owner of the company came out to check out what happened and very easily put back the water hose into its proper place in the wall. Another thing that happened, was that in soldering pieces of new piping for the water heater into place, the plumber inadvertently set off the smoke detector, and had to remove the bottom part to stop the noise. After he was done and was ready to leave, I asked him to put the bottom of the smoke detector back up, which he did gladly. The owner was great. I politely told him how to spruce up the performance of the particular employee who replaced my heater. My suggestions for the employee were that if anything was undone (the smoke detector) it should be fixed without me asking. I also suggested that for the kind of service that people would always call back for more jobs, the employee should have taken a mop and mopped out where the old heater had been, since it is rare that this area would ever be available to do a real good cleanup job(I did the cleanup myself in between heaters). With regard to cost, I asked the employee to check with the company about the price and he said it was about $700. I forgot to ask about any price breaks based on Angie's List. The price for the water heater was $744.26. The next day, I asked the owner about the Angie's List discount or coupon and he said I should have asked at the time the work was done, and that he would check to see if I got it, but that it sounded like I got the discount. I never heard from anyone again about the price and any Angie's List discount.
Description of Work: I initially wanted a toilet fixed that had been gurgling for at least three years. When the plumber came, I asked him to help me figure out how old the water heater was, as several in my condo building had broken recently. We figured out the water heater was at least 16 years old and it was time to fix it. So I decided to get the water heater replaced also. This was done the same day.

I was very pleased with the service. The plumber quickly diagnosed the problem and suggested replacing the kitchen faucet. The faucet did need replacing and he was able to get me a discount when he purchased it from his supplier. The work took only about an hour after the plumber purchased the needed supplies and returned. The plumber also told me the water heater needed replacing and provided an estimate for that work. Everything was neatly cleaned-up and works well. I will use them again and would recommend them to friends.

When we called Erickson Plumbing, they were able to come out quickly. The representative sent was on time, and was well spoken and courteous. He explained cost with me before beginning any service, and identified that the toilet in my bathroom was installed INCORRECTLY when the house was renovated. To complete the repair, he lifted and reset the toilet. He completed the service in under an hour, got my credit card info and signature, and went on his way.

I may be foolish, but I left my house key with Ken Erickson and Rick Matthews (from Big Daddy's Home Improvement, Inc.) and went to Europe. Ken is completely trustworthy and he'd recommended Rick, so I knew it would be fine! When I returned from my trip, the bathroom wasn't completely finished, so I called Erickson's emergency phone number. They got right back to me and let me know that everything was in place so I could take a shower! They had installed a temporary shower head so I could use the shower and came back the next day and installed everything that had been missing. I was upset at first, thinking they had forgotten which showerhead was in our agreement, but realized then that they were thoughtful enough to make sure I was comfortable when I got home!

I called in to the office and spoke with Phylis who was a pleasure to speak with, she arranged for someone to come out and do some work for us. Mike arrived on time and did a very nice job. We are new to the area and were looking for a plumber that we felt was honest and nice to work with. We were very happy with Erickson's service and will use them again.

Quite well. I don't think their prices necessarily are cheaper than other plumbers, but they aren't more expensive, either. Ken, in particular, is extremely helpful and nice. I must have called him three or four times for advice in trying to solve a minor sink problem (my new sink didn't come with a drainer). Though there was no apparent profit in it for him, Ken didn't hesitate to take my calls and even volunteered to call me back with a model number of a part he recommended that I order. In addition, Ken and Phyllis are honest. I accidentally was overcharged by $50. I didn't notice it, but Phyllis caught it the next day, made the refund, and then had Ken phone to tell me about it.
Description of Work: Erickson Plumbing reconfigured my plumbing from a double-bowl to a single bowl sink and reinstalled a garbage disposal. They also made minor adjustments to two toilets, adjusting the water flow on one and removing the seat of another. (The screws had rusted off, making that task more difficult than it sounds.)

We were in the process of replacing our old bathroom sink with a new pedestal sink when we discovered there was no way we could replace the P-trap ourselves because it was leaded into the wall. We called Ken to make an appointment since we'd previously had him replace a rusted and deteriorated toilet closet flange. The removal of the trap was very difficult. It involved heating the lead to remove the old trap and installing a new one. Ken was fast and efficient, the work was excellent and he cleaned up beautifully.

The faucets were not done very professionally and the workers that came seemed immature. Some of the stoppers were not attached for the price I paid, there should not have been any problems. When I called to complain, they did offer to come back out to rectify the problems, but our schedules never allowed so I finally gave up. I would not recommend this company due to the high prices and the bad crew that I got.

Great! I called the previous day and explained the situation. The woman (believe Phyllis) was very helpful and thorough. She explained that someone could come after 4:30 the next day. That day, I was told that the plumber was running a little behind, and as I needed to be somewhere by 6pm, she asked if I wanted to reschedule to the same time tomorrow. I appreciated that as with other contractors, I was never given this feedback and sat and waited. But, I received a call 30 minutes later, saying he made up time and could be at my place that day. He showed up within the window, and assessed and explained the situation and told me exactly what he would do and how much it would cost. I had a coupon and was able to apply that as well. Many times with a coupon, it seems that you are not able to use it. John was very pleasant and extremely efficient. He explained to me everything he was doing along the way.

Called to set an appointment, and a plumber was in my area finishing up a job. It was just luck. John was at my house an hour later. It took him 4 hours to do all the work. He cleaned up afterwards. But, he turned off the water to a toilet upstairs (not the one being rebuilt) and didn't turn it back on. Why did he do that if he was replacing a faucet?

Things went swimmingly. The plumber came on time and went straight to work. He didn't waste time or dawdle; when he discovered a short cut, he told me about it. He finished quickly and did exactly what I needed.
Description of Work: My gas boiler was disconnected in anticipation of using then-cheaper electric silicon heaters. When prices were deregulated, it was cheaper to use my gas boiler. I contacted Erickson the Thursday before the Monday I wanted the reconnection (gas and water lines) work done, and they delivered. The plumber was out sick when I scheduled, but came and did the work as scheduled.

Excellent service! I called Wednesday morning, and John was at our home 2 hours later. He tried to clear the clog, but it wouldn't budge. We discussed options and agreed that the solution was to cut out the ceiling below and replace the drain line. Due to a previously scheduled appointment, he had to leave Wednesday at lunch time but was back Thursday morning and the work was completed quickly. He was able to solve the problem without having to cut out as much pipe as originally anticipated, allowing us to keep our foyer light in place. He kept us informed at every step on how things were going, and did an excellent job cleaning the area when the job was finished. He even managed to complete the job for less than the estimate! I will definitely use this company again for any future plumbing issues.
Description of Work: John attempted to clean our clogged drain in the master bath tub. The clog could not be cleared using snakes or other tools. In the end, John replaced the trap and drain line from tub and gave us back a built-in drain plug. (The original was removed by the last plumber we had work on the tub.)

Came out the first time to assess the situation. Pump was not working automatically. Since it was 30 years old, Eric suggested it was time to replace it. I agreed. However, in the thirty years since we had it installed, things had changed in the way it connected to the electricity. My son did the electrical plug part and Eric installed the new pump. Eric was always on time, friendly, professional, and knew his stuff. He also cleaned up behind himself.

Really well. Called to replace the outside faucet before it froze. They scheduled on a Saturday because "we don't want you to go through the holidays worrying about that." Plumber called on Saturday morning to let me know he'd be arriving in the early afternoon. Showed up within 20 minutes of promised time. Plumber offered several options to replace the outside faucet. He explained the benefits of each and some of the drawbacks. When we decided which option to take, he worked quickly and efficiently. Same with the refurbishment of the kitchen faucet. Before leaving, he reviewed with us all of the work done. Good experience. The work was done quickly, effectively, and inside and outside areas were left clean. The plumber was even nice to our cats.
