We then agreed on a price, and unfortunately I did not ask for a written contract, mistake number two.
He sanded and finished two of my upstairs bedrooms and part of the hallway and the steps, he had a helper with him who I think actually did all the work, because that part of the upstairs was done to perfection. He was suppose to come back and finish the third bedroom and part of the hallway. He had cancelled twice before he finally came back, this time without the helper. I personally think it was the other guy who knew what he was doing. He sanded and finished the third bedroom and hallway in half the time it should have taken, and the color did not match the rest of the upstairs. I could even feel the difference in the sanding when I walked upstairs without shoes on. The agreement was to do a hard sand, fine sand, two coats of water based clear polyurethane and one final coat of oil based. This was done on the first two rooms, but on my bedroom and part of the hallway it was only one hard sand done, not a fine sand, and no water based polyurethane just oil based. Who finishes half a hallway and not the rest. I tried over and over to get him to come back and finish what he "messed' up and he had one excuse after another.
He never corrected what he did wrong. I had to rent a palm sander myself and try to get the hallway to look somewhat presentable. PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS AND DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. HE WILL PROBABLY GO BY SEVERAL ALIAS
ASK FOR CREDENTIALS/ HE HAS BLONDE HAIR BLUE EYES AND HIS NAME IS WILLIAM VESOLSKI His company has two different names already. Bellafloors is one name he uses and BC Flooring is another. Who knows how many other are out there.
*Update 08/01/2013*
The provider contacted me asking me to take down my review on Angie's List and he would come fix his mistake on my hardwood floors. I told him to come fix his mistake, and I would discuss it. He agreed to come 9/.27/2013 and was a "no call no show" as usual. So I am hoping by reading this someone does not make the same mistake I did.
