Several weeks prior, I made the reservation for a FIRST MORNING TIME SLOT. This was also confirmed, earlier in the week, that the move was to take place. I called at 8am, the morning of the move, again, to confirm. I was told then, by the manager, that they HAD TO ACCEPT A SMALL JOB BEFORE MINE (that they could not turn down this job), in Frederick, MD, and that they would be out right after that. Wayne, the manager, insisted that the guys would be at my apartment by 11am. Then, 12pm rolled around, then 1pm - still without a sign from the movers. We called back and were told they would arrive by two and NO MATTER WHAT, WE WOULD BE MOVED BY THE END OF THE DAY. The movers FINALLY ARRIVED AT 2:00PM - 5 HOURS AFTER MY CONFIRMED RESERVATION TIME. The move was not completed until 8:30pm, that night. Also, we were not told about a $300 down payment, which was added, ON TOP OF the $79.00 per hour rate and one hour drive time fee. Our move ended up costing over $800. The two movers, themselves, were awesome. They were very friendly, courteous, and careful. Kudos to them for tackling all of our furniture and going up and down the stairs, of a 3-story townhouse! Guys, thank you very much! However, because they did not respect and adhere to my reservation time and failed to make it clear about the $300, I WILL NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY, AGAIN, NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND IT.

We ended up paying another company more than Starving Students quoted us, and were not able to move all of our belongings because SS Movers told the second company that we were trying to move a 1br apartment (we lived in a 3br house). Our move which was supposed to start between 8 am and noon, and last 5 hours, wasn't finished until close to midnight on a Sunday. Pathetic lack of professionalism and customer service.
Description of Work: They were scheduled to perform a local move (booked several weeks prior to move and confirmed 2 weeks prior to move) of our 3 bedroom house, but they cancelled the morning of the move without explanation or compensation. We were able to argue with them until they agreed to try and find another company to help us.
