Skilled Maids

The ladies did an excellent job. They were very punctual, courteous and did a thorough cleaning. It had been a while since we had our home professionally cleaned. We were impressed with how much they got done in three hours and how everything seemed to be sparkly and new when they were done. We will certainly use their services in the future.

The providers were very thorough. We definitely got our money's worth in terms of cleaning. Everything went well, except that a bathroom sink became completely clogged. I mean, completely. It was fine in the morning, and after they left it was clogged. As simple as that. After having Draino sit for hours with no result, I emailed Skilled Maids explaining the situation and I added that, if we needed to call a plumber, I hoped they'd be willing to reimburse us for it. Fortunately, the product worked overnight and the sink was cleaned. But the response from Skilled Maid was extremely unsatisfactory: all they had to say is that the sink was already clogged when they came in, which is false. Also, two days later I found a small item broken. Nothing of value, something that they had dusted. But I am not happy with the fact that they didn't bother telling us. Things happen, things get broken. But Skilled Maids' main concern seems to be to deflect responsibility, which I find very unprofessional. So I will be looking elsewhere.

I was very pleased. I think they were cooperative. We had communication in advance as to what they would and would not do and things like that.

Three ladies showed up for three hours for a total of 9 man hours. I specified that most of my main floor be deep cleaned, the upstairs hall bathroom and light cleaning in the basement. I was prepping my home to receive guests. There was a lot to be done especially with the windows and base boards and general dusting. I thought the ladies did a good job considering the scope of work. I do have to add that I am very realistic about how long it takes to do these things and I also worked right along side them. Windows require detailed work and lots of time especially if there are blinds and window treatments. One of the three ladies spend 70% of her time detailing the windows, which was exactly what I thought it would take to get the job done the way I wanted. If you have a lot of nicknacks those also require special attention. While they were working I worked to declutter and move things out of their way. By the end of the three hours I felt my home was open house ready, BUT again thats with working right along side the ladies. If your house hasn't been professionally cleaned in a while or at all or requires a lot of decluttering its unrealistic to think that 9 man hours of deep cleaning is going to completely turn things around. You may need several deep cleaning sessions to get the result that you desire if you have a lot of windows, nicknacks and general clutter. All in all I would hire them again and I am considering hiring them for regular cleaning sessions. The ladies were polite, on-time, worked hard all three hours and met my general expectations.

Things went fine. I only paid the $164 Big Deal. I thought they were expensive actually. The staffs were timely and friendly. What stood out about their work was that they wanted to make sure I was satisfied.

It was excellent. They were amazing and did a wonderful job. I will definitely use them again.

It was fine. It was what was advertised. I got what I expected. I would not hesitate to use them.

The ladies (four) arrived about 30 minutes early to clean my house. As soon as they walked in the front door, all four (4) of them immediately headed upstairs to my bedroom. Two of them started cleaning the master bath, while another began changing the sheets. The fourth young lady just stood in my bedroom sitting area, not really doing anything, but she kept asking me if I were leaving - she was the only one that could speak English. When she finally realized that I wasn't leaving, she would pick up a rag and dust the same spot each time I came around the check on them. Two and a half hours later, all four women were still in my bedroom and it didn't seem like they were making much progress. It didn't look like they had done much. About 3o minutes after that, I got a call from their front office telling me that they needed another two hours, per housekeeper, to clean the rest of my house - saying that my house was 'dirtier then they thought' and it would be another $350.00, on top of the $250.00 that I already paid through Angie's List. This is only a four bedroom house. I kindly began telling her about her employees, and how they have been mismanaging their time, how it doesn't take four women to clean one room and especially not for three hours. I told her about the one woman that wasn't working at all, until she saw me watching her, and how they didn't even survey the rest of the house to see what work needed to be done. They all just immediately went to my bedroom and wanted me to leave. In turn, the woman from the front office said that they would dust the floors downstairs and vacuum the rug in the foyer and then leave. Eventually, they left after four (4) hours without ever cleaning the rest of my house and only half of my bedroom, but trying to get me to pay an extra $350.00 to clean my house. Two weeks after that, the front office called to ask me to consider hiring them for permanent house keeping, and then sent me a Christmas card advertising their business. Just tacky! I will not use this service again. Now I believe the Angie's List advertisement was just a tactic to entice people to hire them, knowing that they were going to change the service terms and price once they arrived at the house. Steer clear.

They were on time. They did a good job for the most part but there were a few things that they overlooked however there was a lot of things to be done. They were very responsive.

Went well. They showed up early on both occasions, normally a good thing, but I wasn't home until the appointed time, so they had to wait. The cleaning was thorough and the team was very professional.

I had excellent communication with Connie, who informed me of arrival time, a list of items that would be cleaned etc. The team was late but Connie let me know and it was not an issue. The team worked for 3 solid hours without a break. I was present for the cleaning and they were very thorough. I appreciated the whole house being clean! I have now contracted with Skilled Maids for monthly cleanings. They now spend 3 man-hours (either 3 for 1 hour or 2 for 1.5 hours) cleaning. I was not happy with the kitchen floor once, but I asked them to redo it before they left which they did and apologized profusely for it not being cleaned satisfactorily the first time. I continue to use them.

Three well mannered, well behaved and polite ladies showed up. Cleaned for three hours. I would not qualify it as real 'deep' cleaning, but they did a good job of cleaning. I was happy with their service.

i was the first appointment of the day. Work was performed 8:25 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. by my watch. I am sure they would have been willing to do something more for 10 minutes times 3 but I decided to go with it when they said they were done. An A-team would have asked if there was something more that could be done. Due to traffic the team arrived 25 minutes late. They did not call to let me know they would be late. I purchased the 9 hour deep clean for $250. Good value but I had hoped to find the team that would become permanent. I called to make sure they were coming after waiting some time after 8 a.m. When they arrived they went straight to the top of the 4-level townhouse and asked for bags. I had not read closely so only thought they needed replacement bags left on the kitchen counter for garbage cans. They needed one to put all the garbage into. I was not sure who was leading the team. I wanted to walk that person through my place but was not able to effectively communicate that. I called Lilli and we got it straightened out. My place had been without a cleaning service for a little over 3 months and I have 2 cats. Their vacuum may not be great for cat hair and litter as there were places that I had to request re-vacuuming. They were good about doing that. Still not perfect vacuum, which is why it may be the vacuum that has limitations as the women were good about going back and put serious effort into it. There were a couple other things that needed going over again (lime at base of shower door, scuff marks on kitchen floor). However, even though disappointed that I did not find my next team, the place is fresh and clean. The refrigerator looks great inside. Windows were done - in fact they had time to do all 20+. They quietly did the job and did not take time for phone calls. My place usually takes 4 man-hours so 9 man-hours was a lot of time. Great to have the insides of a couple appliances and windows done. They also washed my kitchen garbage can. Others might have much better experience than me because we dealt with lateness and a communication issue up front. If I had just let them do their thing it may have been an A experience. I say that because of the predominance of A reviews. Getting off on the right foot is so important to the comfort level of all, the team and their client. ***update 6/18: I have downgraded the review. I asked the team to do the windows at the end and see if they had time for more than 10. They did all 20+ as they went. I did not realize that until they were done. They did not ask my priorities. They did what they wanted to do. I was not concerned when I wrote the review as I did not know what follows. They did not ask me which two appliances to clean. They did the microwave and the refrigerator. I had planned to ask for the refrigerator and the oven. If they had told me that they did not have time because they were doing windows, I would have told them my preference for refrigerator and oven rather than all the windows. How did I not find about about the oven until later? The refrigerator looked so good and when I had scheduled by phone with Lilli I had said refrigerator and oven. However, that is not in writing. My memory forgot that and made assumptions. So how did I discover it? They cleaned my cat food tin, which had gone empty the evening before. I saw that since they left the lid off. I did not look closely. That evening I reached in for my grandmother's old aluminum one-cup measure. It was not there. I searched in drawers and cupboards. I checked inside the oven. That's when I knew it was not done. I called about the one-cup measure today as I had too much going on earlier in the week. The woman said she would check and hung up without my number. I have not heard from her. After work, I left a message for Lilli on voicemail. Too early for reply perhaps but I am not pleased with responsiveness and professionalism. Calling when a team is late and not responding to my quiet and polite questions/requests at the start of the deep clean should not result in less than "A " service when the reviews on Angie's List say they are an "A" business. ****A different team came to re-vacuum carpet and do the oven. They were very nice about it. The one-cup measure is still not found. This update is later than intended as I went on vacation a couple days after they did the re-do.

The cleaning team was excellent: they showed up on time, finished on time, and were so responsive to the areas I asked them to focus on. Connie was wonderful with scheduling the cleaning into a day that was very time-critical for us. I will be setting up an ongoing cleaning service with them, based on this experience . unfortunately, they started upstairs and although they did a great job they were not able to finish the family room and kitchen which were the highest on my priorities to be cleaned. Very thorough.

I purchased a big deal for a full house deep cleaning. Three ladies came for 3 hours each and did a great job. Given the size of my home (2500 sq ft), the owner mentioned they may not finish everything in the allotted time. I removed cleaning of windows, because I had purchased a separate deal for those. I also removed cleaning the interior of 3 appliances. They were able to finish the rest in the allotted time. They were thorough. They moved light stuff out of the way to clean the baseboards rather than just going around them. I was very impressed and would definitely use them again.

We called Wednesday to book service for the following Friday. The company accommodated our request. The 3 cleaning ladies that came were friendly,courteous and very professional. The communicated with us several times before and after the work. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

Three Skilled Maids arrived at my home as promised. They had their own supplies and only requested paper towels, which I did not mind providing. They worked as a team in each section, and appeared very organized and practiced in their approach to their work. They cleaned areas that had not been addressed by prior housekeepers, which resulted in a very detailed result. When I did a final "inspection" at the team leader's request, I found a few small areas that had been missed - very understandable since they had never been in my home before. The team quickly took care of those spots leaving me with a house that would pass any discerning eye. I plan to make Skilled Maids my regular housecleaning team. Thank you, Doris, Carla and Batrese!

Very professional, thorough.

They were punctual, got right to work, and did a good job.

They were running out of time, (4.5 hours) so they seemed to rush the lower part of the house, (they started on the upper floor) the cleaned the wood floors as requested, but they used a scrubber sponge on the floor, which we thought weird. No damage to the floor though. They didn't have enough time to clean my office (just vacuumed). Overall it was better than we had been doing ourselves. Or had time to do. I doubt I would pay full price $500.00 for that level of work performed.

Briefly, Skilled Maids performed perfectly: they cleaned a thick layer of dust from ceilings, walls, windows, woodwork, and floors in a 4-bedroom, 3.5 bath house on four floors. They even went the extra mile and swept the garage. They did a wonderful job making all the appliances look news. They were attentive to our needs and flexible in terms of time. We highly recommend Skilled Maids.

Tema was well organize and very responsive.

The cleaners were prompt, professional and thorough. I was very pleased with the work. This was an "Angie's List Deal" that I bought. $250 for nine hours of cleaning. Truly a great deal.

It was wonderful. They took a complete mess and made it presentable. I had hoped to get more "pre-cleaning" done but they did not seem bothered by the mess. Ended up getting about 12 man-hours (3 people were there). Had to pay extra for the hours over 9 but we had discussed that up front and it was worth it. Today (5/26) they started coming monthly for a reasonable $150/visit.
