We had a large area of our backyard cleared, with pavers installed on about 1/2 of the area, and mulch on the rest. The estimator arrived on time and was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He left us extra information to review (styles of pavers, colors, etc), and gave us an estimate about 2 days later. He also made a number of suggestions while taking a look at our property. The project foreman returned with the estimator 2 days before the work was to begin, and it turned out that the estimator had made an measurement error (an error that all the other companies from whom we sought an estimate had also made, it turned out), which increased the cost by about 25%. The estimator handled this very fairly, in our opinion, and we reached a reasonable compromise. The work started exactly on time and was completed within the estimated time. The workers were professional, and as they were leaving, ended up cleaning up the leaves in much of our front yard (far from the work area) as well! This was a nice, extra, and highly appreciated final touch. We talked again with the estimator to follow up, and plan to use this company for additional landscaping work in the future.

Good experience. Flexible and willing to work with us to achieve what we wanted even when we couldn't fully articulate it. Their experience was appreciated. They were available for Saturday consultations as needed which helped keep the project moving. Would recommend, as would many of our neighbors who've complimented us on the new look.

Mike and Doug (the owners), and Don are a great bunch of guys. They were patient and come by 3 times for updated estimates because our design had changed. Don was persistent (and not pushy) on follow-up which we appreciated. Although they were not the cheapest, we chose Diversified Contractors based on our comfort level that they could do the job right and the feedbacks received on Angies' List. Their website provided an abundant about of pictures of their previous work which was a real bonus for ideas.
We had to postpone a couple weeks because of consistent rain. When they got started, a crew of 6-8 men excavated, installed two new window wells, and layed the drainage all in one day. On the 2nd day, they poured concrete and completed the drainage. The initial pop-up emitter was not as far out to the sidewalk as I expected, but Doug explained that it was a typical location in the middle of the yard. After a few days and against his advice, I asked Doug to extend it out 8 ft from the sidewalk and he was very accommodating. He sent a small crew out and fixed it at no charge. Doug and Don were very responsive and we are satisfied customers! We would definitely recommend Diversified Contractors to our friends. We hope to work with them more in the future.

They did a good job on my house. They were flexible too- I also needed a new railing, so they built around the old one & returned to finish the job when another contractor installed it. Downside- they used a stone with gouges in a prominent place on the top landing. But overall, I'm satisfied.

It went great. Mike was very helpful in design of the new stonework. We had a lot of fun picking out the new stone with input from Mike. I suspect there is usually uncertainty in how this kind of project going to look, but when the stone was in the ground we loved it. The work was very professional with some artistic touches, much better than I see elsewere in the neighborhood (Chevy Chase). Mike was very willing to make changes while the job was ongoing. The crew, usually four men, were very curtious, easy to be around, and clearly very experienced at this work. Mike was available to us every day to assess progress and get our input. The crew was very hard working and completed the job in about five days--quick for the scale of the project in my opinion. We are extremely happy with outcome and we highly recommend this company.

The price from this company was in-line with the other quotes I received but the reason I choose this company was their website. The website showed many before and after pics which I loved, plus Don provided a separate link that included even more pictures. The pictures made it very easy for me to look through a large variety of stones, pavers, shapes, layouts, etc and choose which I liked and which I did not like. I worked with Don throughout the process who answered my several rounds of questions regarding the flag stone and dove veneers that were to be installed. After we initially meet for Don to take measurements and discuss the details of the project I did have to followup with him in regards to sending me the estimate. I waited for approx 1.5-2 weeks before requesting it. I've found this to be fairly standard with other contracting companies as well and I don't quite understand why this is. Possibly I am always trying to get work done during busy seasons. Once I had the contracted signed the work started the following Monday. Don and the crew showed up at a responsible hour each day (not at the crack of dawn) and worked on our walkway for 3 days plus a 4th to complete a power washing. I have a good sized garden the runs the length of the walkway and the crew was very considerate with my plants, there was only 1 casualty to a very small plant. Don phoned after the work was completed to make sure that we were happy with it, which we are.

Dave, one of the partners, returned my call the same day it was made - came out to give an estimate the next afternoon. Told me that could start in 2 to 3 weeks depending on if spring rains held up other jobs. Sure enough, he called about 3 weeks later and the team started next day. Always had 2 to 3 people very experienced guys on the job (I knew they had worked with Dave for at least 7 years); Dave came out on the first day to check out how things were going. Very pleased with work, including clean up - our job involved putting down a cement foundation under the flagstone

They provided the stone and installed it. It was a very small project and not a big project for me to judge anything by. They did a good job with whatever work that they did. I contacted them on Monday. They asked me to send the real pictures so that they could look at it to get an idea if there was something that they could address and give an estimate on. I was perfectly okay with their response time. It took two days for them to get back to me with an estimate which was understandable. I did not think that it was unusual as it was spring time and they were busy. They had not promised anything sooner than that. They called me on Thursday so that their crew could come by on Friday. It only took half an hour for them to complete the work. I also had them look at some possible jobs that they could do for me later on. They would be getting back to me soon with the prices for those too.

Was very, very happy with Mike (our salesman and one of the owners) and the crew from Diversified from beginning to end. Mike was responsive whenever called, from before we contracted them, til after they were paid in full and questions arose. They came when they said they would, worked hard, and made modifications as needed til my husband and I were satisfied with the results. Their pricing came in below two other estimates we had received, and their work was still very high quality. Mike is a contractor I would trust with a key to my home...he is just a great person, and does a great job for his clients. We were very, very happy with the work they performed, and will definitely use them again in the future.

I received quotes from 3 companies, and the proposed landscaping from Diversified Contractors was clearly the best, even if slightly more expensive, because it provided a lot more "bang for the buck." The landscaping design was well thought out and provided a lot of different types of plants with different blooming seasons. The patio and steps (both into the house and down the side yard) are absolutely gorgeous. They really provided exactly what I had hoped for. The company responded quickly to any questions I had, and worked with me to resolve a problem with a screen around the air conditioner (I did not make clear what was needed). I'm very, very happy with the result.

Russell and owner Doug were professional, personable, and wonderful to work with. We felt that they wanted our custom design to become a reality and would find a way to make it happen, helping us to keep the costs in check. The quality is top-notch and they worked hard to get it done in a week, even working in the rain one whole day. This project consisted of a complete overhaul of my back yard which was completely unkempt and had some major drainage issues when I purchased it. I spoke with 7 different landscaping companies before choosing Diversified Contractors and I'm glad I held out to find them. This job was handled wonderfully from the very beginning. The project manager came by, on-time, and took the time to walk through the entire project with me. He spoke and visited with me several times, over about a week, to ensure my vision of the backyard was accurately captured in the quote. The price of the quote was very comparable to other companies; however, the detail of the quote was unmatched. It was extremely detailed and very thorough. The workers came on time everyday and were very professional and courteous. The work was done with extreme attention to detail and completed ahead of schedule. One of the things that really impressed me was how the project managers kept in constant contact with me throughout the project, addressing any questions that I had. Overall I can say that from start to finish it was top notch work and in a very professional atmosphere. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The company showed up on time everyday, with a crew of 10+ people. It was a fairly large job, but the entire thing was done in a matter of 3 to 4 days. The crew was friendly and courteous, and listened to my ideas and concerns. The patio is properly graded away from my house, and is a beautiful living area. Top quality.

Overall and every step of the way,they were OUTSTANDING! From the first email I sent requesting an estimate to the finished product, this company was beyond excellent! I found them via googling "stone porches". Their website is well thought out, easy to navigate and provided before and after photos that enabled me to see their work and helped me choose a design for my project. I emailed for additional information, and unlike the other companies I emailed that day, Diversified called me immediately and promptly came out for a free estimate. The owners came to give me the estimate and I must say, they are also quite knowledgeable on design and have a keen sense of aesthetics. The very next day I received a very detailed, easy to read estimate which allowed me to choose from several work options. Then, the workers arrived, all of them professional and courteous. And now, my front porch is awesome!!!!!! I entertain frequently for both professional and personal functions. I am so happy I decided to do this work and particularly fortunate to have found this company to do the work!!!! I will be using them again for my back porch very soon!

The foreman came out and competitively bid on the job, was on time, very thorough and businesslike but friendly. He helped us make cost-effective choices while creating the quality installation we were seeking. We chose them out of three bids for several reasons, part cost, part work style, manner and experience. It was clear they knew what they were doing and cared about customer satisfaction, including being respectful of our time. They then started the job on the day promised and worked steadily until both aspects of it were complete. I was impressed with the professionalism and teamwork of the crew and the routine inspection and daily management visits of the foreman. Once the projects were wrapped we had one concern with needing the fence gate hinge to be switched to the other side. The foreman came out the very next day to review what was needed and had the change made (which included rebuilding part of the gate) the following day without complaint or extra charge. He also consulted for free on care of our existing deck, which saved us effort and money at a time when that made a difference. Our front walk is beautiful and has upgraded the street presentation of our small but handsome colonial home to a new height of graciousness. The fencing is great too and will be even better once the wood is cured in a few months' time and we can refinish it in tandem with our aging deck.
