Everything went great. The final product included exactly what they estimated along with a few last minute changes we discussed as the project progressed. Communication was good, other than one small communication about arrival time. But this was quickly resolved and acknowledged. Install team was great, cleaned up, and professional. Final results were fantastic. Every time we drive up to the house we say how much better it looks! Service Details: Plant installation along front of house. Installed with new soil 5- Ink Berry Holly - 3 gal 7 - Big Blue Liriope - 1 gal 3- Spirea GoldMound - 3 gal 3- Knock Out Roses - 3 gal 5- Viburnum Maple Leaf 3 gal Shredded Harwood Mulch All previously mulched tree rings and shrubbery beds shall be mulched to a depth of 2" using a premium quality, double-shredded hardwood mulch free of fungus and non-organic materials. All edges will be a smooth line, be free of weeds cleaned prior to the installation of new mulch. Mulch is applied to conserve moisture to improve the fertility and health of the soil, to reduce weed growth and to enhance the visual appeal of the landscape. (description provided by contractor)

We had a great experience with King Cuts. Bret came out to give us an estimate the day after we called the company. He listened to our concerns and came up with a solution to our needs and was able to work to keep the project within our budget. When the time came to install, there was a little hitch with the arrival of some of the materials (which was not their fault at all) and they handled it really well - juggling jobs and working with the supplier to make it work as soon as possible. Jorge and the rest of the work crew were great. There seemed to be a real mutual respect between the business owners and their work crew, and I really appreciated seeing that as a client. The crew was really thorough in the clean up of their work materials and our yard. I really appreciate the care they put into finishing the job right. The finished patio looks great and we are looking forward to using them again for future projects.

I called King Cuts a few weeks ago for a landscaping job in front of my townhome. I spoke to Keith who sent someone out the very next day to assess the area; even though I was out of town. Once they assessed the area, Keith called me and gave me some ideas of different options. I don't have a green thumb and wanted flowers that I did not have to do anything with, but will still add color and interest to the front of the house. Keith also emailed me names of flowers, etc. so that I could research myself. I also needed sod laid in a very difficult to grow area. We set a date and the landscapers came and began work immediately. They worked with the soil that is highly concentrated with rock and sand and laid the sod. The landscapers were professional, very nice, and very clean. They constantly asked my input to make sure that I was happy with the results. They did not have enough sod so I called the office and spoke with Keith and he said that they would bring more to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction. They removed some hostas that were already in the yard, placed them in pots and carried them to my deck. Overall, the yard looks nice. The landscapers cleaned the area and did not leave until both my husband and I assessed the yard and gave our approval. I highly recommend them, especially if you are a very particular person. They are very patient and want to make sure you are satisfied. Very nice guys.

The service contract called for removing three, large, dead ornamental grasses and installing new sod in one bed after the removal. Each grass was approximately 5'w x 3'h and if you know anything about ornamental grasses, you know their roots travel wildly and deeply. I was concerned the team of two guys would skimp on digging and leave behind roots, but they did not...they were very thorough (I watched the job). After the grasses were dug up (took less than 30 minutes), the guys disposed of the residue and began cleaning out the beds. They leveled the land, added in fresh topsoil, and installed new sod to one area. While one guy asked for my water hose and spent an extra 10 minutes watering the sod (which he didn't have to do), the other guy spotted five, homeowner-neglected plants...advised me what to do to bring them back to life, asked where I planned to place them, AND...volunteered to plant them for me (another above-and-beyond effort). Now, all five of those plants are thriving. Overall, we were very pleased with our King Cuts Landscaping experience and plan to use them again.

We are very pleased with the results. We found Kings Cuts on Angie's List and trusted the great reviews. The company is local and owned by two brothers, Bret and Keith. Bret re-designed my existing garden utilizing many of the plants and shrubs I already had and adding about 40 more to create a more aesthetically pleasing garden. I love the choice of plants he selected - the variety of colors and textures during each of the 4 seasons will be beautiful! The crew arrived as scheduled and were very professional. Keith, was on the job with the crew most of the day - he is hands on and was even watering new plants once the install was complete. Bret stopped by to answer any questions the crew had about plant placement. A second garden was created using some of my old plants and the crew even trimmed overhead trees (not in contract) so the garden would stand out more. They cleaned up all debris prior to leaving. Very pleased with a stand out company! Will refer and use if we have future landscaping needs.

Keith and King Cuts was very responsive to my various emails and help me land on the mix of materials that best suited my project goals and budget. The work was completed less than a week after finalizing a contract and placing a deposit of 1/3rd of the total cost. The dirt underneath my elevated deck was clearly eroding and was a breeding group for mosquitoes after rain fall. King Cuts did a great job hand grading the dirt before the installation and the new gravel looks so much cleaner. The crew even laid grass seed to repair the very some grass that was trampled as the crew took wheelbarrows of gravel to the backyard. I would recommend King Cuts in a heartbeat and will use them again in the future!

When I originally contacted the company via email I didn't receive a response so I followed up with a second email. It took @ 2 weeks to receive a response and because of this, the company provided the service at the same cost / rate as when they provided the service last year (and they were extremely sorry for the delay). This is the 2nd year I've used King Cuts Landscaping to remove leaves, debris from my property - I did not originally contact nor schedule the service via Angie's List but I wanted to let Angie's List members know how GREAT of a job this company provided (and boy were they quick). I will definitely use them in the future.

The whole project went extremely well. On the day we were scheduled to begin it rained, but the brothers stayed in touch regarding the delay and when they felt would be a good time to begin. They started on Thursday afternoon instead of Wednesday, and then worked Friday and Saturday morning to complete the project within the scheduled time frame. All the workers were friendly and personable. Because we live in the middle of a townhouse block the workers had to haul supplies to and from our backyard, while going through other homes and communal spaces. They were careful when doing this and did not disrupt any of our neighbors in the process. We are extremely pleased with the final result and would recommend King Cuts to anyone! They were reasonable, friendly, professional, and efficient. We are thankful for their help!

They did not allow our difficult neighbor to prevent them from remaining professional and completing the work They cleaned up well after the work was completed. They offered to do additional in the spot landscaping if we desired to complete the look We were very pleased with how the project turned out. It matched the integrity of our home and improved the overall curb appeal. They gave courtesy notfication to our neighbor to let her know that their working would involve some of her area but assured her that they would clean up afterward. They were able to do the work without disturbing any of her landscape or flowerbeds. We were very pleased with the outcome!!!

Both Keith and Bret were responsive, attentive, and listened carefully to our requests. The crew, let by Jorge, arrived on time and went right to work. Went well, could see many holes in yard when I got home from work. Yard was lusher a month later with less weeds.

The owner of the company Brett was quick to call back and schedule an estimate. He was late on the day of the estimate but called ahead to let me know and apologized. He said that I could expect a quote within a couple of days by mid-week and that the work could start with the a week. I waited until the end of the week and did not receive anything so I called and talked to his brother in the office who sent me the quote quickly after I called. He initially told me the work could not start for about 3 weeks , but when I told him that this was different than what Brett had told me, I got a call back that the work could be scheduled the next week on the morning of April15. On that day, the company did not show up in the timeframe I was given. I called the office and was told they were probably on there way and someone would get back to me. Another hour went by and I called again. I was told that the schedule had changed and the crew would be there later in the afternoon. I understand that this can happen, but I wish someone had called to let me know so I would not have been waiting around for them. I did get an apology. When the crew showed up later , they did not knock on the door to tell me they had arrived, but I noticed they had opened the fence to the backyard and were walking around. I was glad my dog happened to not be in the yard at the time. I went out and talked to one of the guys who asked me to show him what was to be done. There was a crew of about 5 guys, I think, and they seemed to work really hard. All of the work they did was well completed and my yard looked cleaned up and great. The only exception I noticed was my flowering bushes were not dead-headed as I had asked. I would have pointed this out, but when they were finished, they left without telling me they were done, so not giving me the chance to look around and make sure the job was complete.

We met Bret at the Howard County Fairground's spring Home and Garden Show this year. We met other landscapers at the show and made appointments with them all. They were all excellent people and gave us varied design and cost proposals. We looked on Angie's list too. Bottom line is this, Bret really zeroed in what we wanted, what was appropriate for our space, and , most importantly, took our budget into serious consideration. He suggested a two stage process: the sidewalk replacement now and doing a blue stone installation over the existing front cement porch at a later date. His price was good and his proposal laid out in every detail exactly what would be done by his crew. And that is exactly what cinched our choice. The men came in and carefully removed all of the bricks from the old sidewalk and stacked them for future use by us. They excavated the area, laid the landscaping fabric, added the Cr6, machine tamped the Cr6 to 6 inches, then laid and screeded sand, and then laid the brick pavers. They finished it off with polymeric sand. There is more to all of this than the fact that they did exactly what they said they would do in the contract. Jorge gave us some suggestions on the pattern of the sidewalk and he laid out two choices in our driveway so that I actually saw what the patterns looked like. That made such a difference to me. I chose a basket weave pattern. The skill that he used in bringing the sidewalk out to meet our driveway shows in the cutting and flaring of the bricks. We are so pleased. We look forward to King Cuts coming back in the fall to help us so some landscaping at and around our beautiful new front entry way.

Excellent service all around. High quality work at a reasonable price. Owner always available to be on site and walk through job with me and neighbors say the team works very hard and quickly (since I am rarely home when work occurs). HIghly recommend.

We waited around all Saturday afternoon. He never showed and didn't even bother to call to cancel.

King Cuts was by far the best among all the landscaping companies we had before. They are very professional from the very first contact to the end. We were extremely happy with their work. The two brothers that run the company are fantastic. They did everything that they said and they exceeded our expectations. They were perfect!

I have been with King Cuts Landscaping for 7 years. They give a very acceptable price and it was comparable with other companies within the area. The company is run by Bret Wetsel, young man, you deal with him directly. If you leave him a message, he gets back to you within 20 minutes. I like having that direct contact with the owner. There was one time where I had a little discrepancy, he came right out and we cleared it up. It was a mistake on my part but he follows up on what he does. he's very interested in your feedback. He takes responsibility for everything that goes on and you can depend on his workers too. When we moved we left his refrigerator magnet with his information for the new owner of the house because that was one of the main selling of the house.

They're very personable and thorough. They're a good service and I would definitely recommend them.

Had not communicagted well with them and that was probably both our faults. I whated the leaves removed and they acme to blow them into the woods. As they were there and started I told them to proceed. They owuld benefit from being very clear in the future regarding this detail when quoting leave jobs. Aside from this they were excellent.

I was very pleased with the quality of their work, and the professionalism of their manager/owner. Their operations are seamless. I got an estimate over the phone, and hired them to mow my lawn before my family moved in. When the movers pulled into the driveway, the lawn looked amazing. I've hired them again for next week.

We like their initiative. We basically give them a free reign to make our yard look good, and they do.
