Great. The work was finished quickly and looks good. They kept the job site clean, and were good at responding when we had questions. There price was also by far the best of the four roofers who gave us estimates.

After looking over the exterior fireplace, it was not apparent that there was an issue. Two skylights nearby had been worked on over previous years and it may have been an old problem since resolved years ago (we've been in our house for 31 years). He did note that there was some caulking around the fireplace area, and decided he would/could caulk some more around the area since he was up there so he did. He told us to just watch the area going forward for now....... don't mess with something that isn't broken. He did not charge us anything for his time, expertise, or the small caulk job he performed. He was very professional and helpful and I know we have found a good person for any outdoor work we may have in the future. Thank you, Joe!

Perfectly. The job was on time, within budget and as contracted for. It was completed in one day as promised and there were no nails found in my flower beds or lawns.

The work was done promptly and to code, on time, on budget, and reasonably swiftly. Our only regret is that they did not provide deck staining service as part of the same installation, but did give us a reference for a recommended company to do the work.

We were extremely pleased with JC Services and our new roof. The owner of the company, Joe, was the individual who came by to provide us with a quote. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We had some extensive old and rotten plywood under the roofing tiles and a leak over one section of our garage so they had to do some extra work to fix those two items. I really can't think of any negatives from our experience. There were many positives: great owner, owner stopped by during the work day to check on the crew and their progress, good price, excellent work, responsive, quick job (they did the entire roof in a day and only had an extra two days that they came for about an hour each to finish up putting the siding strips back on and cutting out the leak area of the garage ceiling), they cleaned everything up when they were done for the day (which was a huge plus because we have had some contractors in the past who did not do such a great job of clean up), and they even put our pumpkins and hanging flower baskets aside while working so they wouldn't get damaged (as minor as that it, it was a really nice and caring step they took in my mind). We would highly recommend this company.

When the gutter was ripped off halfway and dangling precariously 35ft high near the front door, Joe scheduled us first thing the next day. The guys came out promptly at 9am and got the job done in no time. We couldn't have had better experience. Thanks for taking care of us.

I have not been this pleased with a service provider of ANY KIND in YEARS. We found Joe here on Angie’s List and his company was one of three that bid on the project. Both of the others were relatively larger and more widely-known. Joe’s was the lowest-cost but also the highest-value bid in an apples-to-apples comparison of products used – which was great, of course – but what impressed me most about Joe and ultimately got him the job was his honest approach, exceptional responsiveness buzzer-to-buzzer over the bidding and project delivery cycle, and the confidence he projected in his ability to deliver a top-quality result. (I should note that in talking with Joe during the bid process, it turns out that he had coincidentally done the reroof at our previous residence, which had been completed prior to us living there. I remembered commenting to my wife multiple times when we had lived there what a nice job had been done on the roof. Small world…and we also knew the individual Joe had done this work for – not the easiest person to please. She provided a terrific reference for Joe as well.) We purchased our home in May 2016 from the original owners (almost exclusively original roof, and all original skylights from ~1991), and are absolutely in love with where we live. I mention this because as anyone who’s gone through (or is about to go through) a project of this scope understands, there is a tremendous amount of anxiety associated with trying to make the right choice of who will do the job, feeling like you can really trust them, and then going through the process of having your roof completely torn up and redone. Throughout the bidding process, Joe did everything possible to put my wife and I at ease, to help guide us through the various options about shingle products, colors, and the other elements of the roofing system, and to provide numerous homes in his portfolio for us to view. By the time we were ready to go, we knew exactly what we wanted, after starting the process rather “all over the place” in terms of what we might do. I asked Joe approximately 5,298 questions over the week or so we were trying to decide on the roofer, and he responded to every last one thoughtfully and promptly. I’m very big on customer service, and again, I have not experienced this level of customer service in a long, long time. With respect to the actual job that was done, I will simply say that I went from a ball of nerves the morning it began to cool as a cucumber after just a few hours. If you’ve never gone through this process before, the initial “shock and awe” of an armada of vehicles swarming your property, followed by watching your roof being completely torn off (with all the wonderful accompanying noises), is enough to create more than just a little stress and worry. Ours was not the simplest or smallest job, either – a $20,000+ expense for what I would estimate is an above-average installation on the size and complexity scale. Tons of beautiful plants and shrubs around the perimeter that could be damaged, a large fish pond in front, and a large deck and many substantial floor-to-ceiling windows to be mindful of and protect. Joe and his team took every precaution and skillfully set up the perimeter to ensure everything that needed to be protected was protected. The team also showed tremendous respect for the interior of our home when prepping to remove the seven old skylights and set the new ones. I didn’t have to tell anyone to remove their shoes, take care with furniture, and watch the walls when transporting large ladders throughout the property. They just did it. This reflects on the management. Joe’s father Dale and one of the team, Omar, also spent a tremendous amount of time meticulously finishing off the interior skylight bays once the new lights had been installed. Because of the way the previous skylights had been installed, this took quite a bit of time and effort, and some improvisation. This work was done enthusiastically, with every effort to make us happy. No “that will be extra” or “that’s the owner’s responsibility.” Even the attic space was vacuumed thoroughly to clean up some of the minor debris slipping through the plywood cracks and ridge vent area during the removal of the existing roof. Back to the roof install and the finished product. Communication and follow-through were both impeccable on the two days the work was done. Joe told us well in advance exactly when they were coming, how many of them were coming, what they would be doing, and what to expect throughout the duration of each day. Questions were answered as they came up, and adjustments and new decisions were made as needed. Joe himself spent plenty of time on-site and on the roof working over those two days. During the tear-off and install, the entire crew was a well-oiled machine, and I was frankly amazed at how well-coordinated everything was considering the size of the crew. Everyone seemed to know exactly what their job was, and as the day went on, it became clear that we were going to be very happy with the end result. Now that it’s complete, we are absolutely thrilled with the way the new roof looks. Clean, sharp, and precise. A major transformation in the character of the house. We also have great confidence in the integrity of the installation, and that JC Services will stand behind the work. And as for the exterior and all the debris generated? Honestly, in walking around the house, it’s almost impossible to tell anything even happened here over the past two days – which is hard to believe if you had seen the level of trash generated during the tear-off. I’m sure we will find some small things at some point, but I seriously doubt that even the folks at NCIS could do a better job of removing the evidence of what just occurred! I recommend JC Services without any hesitation whatsoever, and I am happy to provide a personal reference to anyone who would like to speak with me. Joe has my contact information.

This is my second experience with JC Services. The owner and workers arrived on time and got right to work No time was wasted and the work was done quickly and expertly. Later that day, the owner followed up to make sure I was happy and to let me know that despite having quoted a fixed price for the work, he was reducing the costs due to using less materials than expected. How many firms do that! Great job and I wouldn't hesitate to hire again.

Wonderful ! Joe communicated well and explained our options clearly. The quote was a reasonable one. The work was performed on time and was of a high caliber. My yard was left clean and free of debris. What a breath of fresh air to work with someone like this !!

They protected the plantings around the house and cleaned up very well when work was completed. We can say the same for the gutter installers. Highly recommend.

They were on time, professional, and did a nice job. The made a couple of repairs to the gutters so they would function as they should until replacement in the Spring. They did not charge an additional fee for this service. I used this company because out of all the estimates I solicited, Joe was the only person who actually went up on the roof to check it out. They use quality lifetime materials off the bat, rather then trying to upsell at additional cost. The pricing was competitive, and I believe well worth it.

It is hard to believe that a company like this exists!! The head of the company, Joe Call, was an absolute delight. From the estimate to completion of the project everything went smoothly. And, the quality of the product and the workmanship were excellent. Joe kept us informed of the schedule and what to expect along the way. His crew was professional--and fast! Joe Call, owner, was the person that came out to give us an estimate. He arrived when scheduled and was very pleasant and professional. He gave us options as to what we could do to replace the roof shingles and two skylights. He explained in detail what work they would be doing. We felt his company was reasonable in their pricing. After selecting JC Services to do our work, Joe made an extra effort to work with us to schedule when they could come out to do the replacement. He made an additional trip to show us larger samples so we could select the color, as well as providing us with local addresses that had work done by his company. His team arrived on time on the day scheduled. (The original day before was rained out). The entire team seemed to be very knowledgeable and worked very well together. The team included a supervisor who was involved with all aspects of the work. The prep work included protection of all places around the house that could be damaged by any falling debris. The supervisor kept us informed of the progress throughout the work. Cleanup was thorough. It looked like they were never there. The whole job was completed in one long day. The entire process was a very pleasant experience. We are very happy with the results and the appearance of our new roof. We would recommend JC Services to anyone looking to replace a roof and probably any other work they might do.

He came over when we weren't home and was only able to visually inspect the front because we have dogs in the back yard. No attempt was made to reschedule to look when we were home. He then began talking about money. We prefer not to deal with him.

From the first contact, Joe was a pleasure to deal with. He came over to discuss options and quickly submitted a proposal to us. The area, while not significant in size, required the replacement of leaking skylights, reframing the entire area, and installing a new roof. Work was completed on a Friday/Saturday. The crew ensured that dust and debris did not enter the rest of the house and worked quickly to complete the job. It was professionally done and one of the easier renovations I have encountered. I would definitely hire him again.

Joe is transparent in his costs/pricing, is accommodating to the homeowner's needs, and demonstrated a real interest in helping us to manage costs. The work they performed exceeded expectations, and we could not be happier. After moving into our home in early October, we quickly discovered major problems with a leaking roof as well as major water damage and mold hiding behind our basement walls. We were already stressed with the costs of the move and the cosmetic repairs we planned for the house, so being hit with two major home repairs within days of moving in left us overwhelmed. After finding JC Services on Angie's List, Joe quickly responded to my call and was at my house the next day to evaluate our roof damage. Joe was honest about the issues on our roof, and was transparent with his material and labor costs. His crew was at our home within 48 hours replacing the old, damaged roof. We've had no issues with leaks since, and we were very satisfied with the cost of the new roof. Simultaneously, we discovered water and mold behind our basement walls due to incorrectly installed insulation and vapor barrier, as well as a collapsed drain-tile system. After gutting our foundation and replacing the drain tile and sump pump, we had JC Services come to complete the demolition of the basement (including a full bath) and refinish the entire space. This included the addition of a new bedroom. Again, Joe was very cost-conscious (knowing the major expenses we were facing with all our home repairs), and helped us find low-cost materials through wholesale suppliers and worked with us on managing labor costs. The new basement is an amazing retreat - a huge change from the moldy, wet, old basement we found when we bought the home. We've continued to use JC Services for all of our general contracting needs - including door framing, window/door replacement, drywall work, shutter replacement. I cannot say enough about Joe and his team. Joe is the most honest and helpful contractor we've ever worked with, and I highly recommend his services.
