Description of Work: Excellent work! Very nice people to deal with, did all moving oh heavy furniture, took all window treatments down and replaced them after work was completed. Answered all questions politely. All work checked by management. Very pleased with this company, highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Had 18 vinyl replacement windows installed, 7 of which are oversized (floor to ceiling). It took a while to get the windows ordered, however, they still arrived when initially promised. The crew showed up early on the date of service. Completed all work in a single day even though it was initially expected that there might be a second day. They hauled away the old windows and left no mess, inside or out! I am very pleased with everything about the windows and installation. I would definitely recommend Chesapeake Thermal.

Description of Work: We've used Chesapeake Thermal twice, replacing about 15 or 20 total windows (mid grade) and adding a screen door. We initially got estimates from window nation, thompsons creek, and a few others. CT came as a recommendation from a friend. First off, Tom (one of the owners of CT) was willing to give me non binding estimates through email. This differed from all the other <explatives> that insisted on giving a sales pitch and trying to insist that my wife be present during the estimates (so they can try to get a decision on the spot and play the weaker sales target). Once the contract was signed, they told us it would be about 15-20 days or so for the windows to be custom made, and the windows were done on time and the install was scheduled. The installers came out when they said they would, were professional, quick, and did a good install job and clean up. We still need to replace a few more windows, and we will be returning to CT to let them finish the job.

We needed to have our front door and two side panels replaced. After estimates from several places for the same door, we decided on this company. They were great! They came out for the initial estimate. They were responsive, friendly. After our decision to use them, they were back to measure and order the door. No problems were encountered at all. Very professional. All questions were answered. They installed the door a few weeks later (special order door, and we asked to install after holidays). We are very happy and would recommend. I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

We didn't feel that the installation job was good, we considered it a poor installation job. The molding didn't line up, they didn't take off the quarter round at the base of the molding when they were cutting it. We spoke to the owner and he came back and initially didn't seem to agree with us that we had a legitimate complaint, but then he did and they were willing to repair what we were dissatisfied with. We didn't want the same installation people to come back. They put their tools on my table top and things like that. The owner took 400 dollars off the bill later because my husband decided to take care of things himself.
Description of Work: They replaced the back door. The price included labor, and the back door, and the transom.

IN RESPONSE TO THE REPORT DATED OCTOBER 30, 2008: I AGREE WITH THE HOMEOWNER THAT THEIR JOB WAS NOT COMPLETED TO THEIR OR MY SATISFACTION. WHEN THEY INFORMED ME OF THEIR DISSATISFACTION WE SCHEDULED A TIME FOR ME TO MEET WITH THEM AND ADDRESS THEIR CONCERNS. WHEN WE MET AND I LOOKED OVER THE INSTALLATION I COULD SEE THAT THEIR COMPLAINTS FOR THE MOST PART WERE VALID. I DISAGREED WITH ONE SMALL AREA WHERE THE TRIM WAS MITERED BUT AGREED WITH THEM ON EVERYTHING ELSE. I ALSO POINTED OUT SOME OTHER THINGS THAT I THOUGHT COULD HAVE BEEN FINISHED IN A MORE PROFESSIONAL MANNER. I AGREED TO SEND A MAN BACK OUT TO FIX ANYTHING THAT THEY OR I HAD A PROBLEM WITH. THE HOMEOWNER DECLINED THIS OFFER AND SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT HIMSELF. IN AN EFFORT TO TRY TO MAKE UP FOR THE AGGRAVATION WE HAD CAUSED THIS CUSTOMER I CREDITED HIS ACCOUNT $400 TO COVER THE MINOR REPAIRS THAT WOULD HAVE COST ME $100 AT THE MOST HAD WE BEEN ALLOWED TO DO THEM OURSELVES. OCCASIONALLY PEOPLE HAVE BAD DAYS AT WORK. MOST PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT AND ARE HAPPY THAT THEY'VE HIRED A COMPANY THAT WILL STAND BEHIND THE WORK WE DO FOR THEM IF THERE IS A PROBLEM. WE'VE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 22 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A COMPLAINT FILED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OR ANY OTHER CONSUMER OR REGULATORY AGENCY. THAT'S BECAUSE WE ALWAYS BEND OVER BACKWARDS IF NECESSARY TO MAKE SURE OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE WORK WE DO FOR THEM. WE REGRET ANY INCONVENIENCE WE MAY HAVE CAUSED THIS CUSTOMER BUT FEEL THAT WE DID THE BEST WE COULD UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT.
