CHESAPEAKE ROOFING WINDOWS & SIDING

I found Chesapeake Roofing Windows and Siding on accident after hiring Chesapeake Home Remodeling (avoid this company!!) to repair missing shingles from our roof after a wind storm. Chesapeake Home Remodeling did not confirm the appointment and never showed up on the scheduled date so I tried to contact them but reached Kurt's company first on accident due to the similar names. Kurt was extremely responsive and said the work could be done soon if I did not hear back from the other company. I lost count of how many times I called Chesapeake Home Remodeling over the next few days and I never heard from them again. Luckily Kurt was more than willing to schedule the work and actually have his team show up to complete it. Kurt's price was a little higher than the other company but it was worth it to have the problem addressed quickly. I would definitely recommend and use them again!

I have nothing but great things to say about this family-owned, local business! Kurt and his team replaced my 14 windows in my house. Mark did an estimate, advised me on materials, and waited for me to talk with other companies to compare. Mind you, before contracting with Chesapeake, we got several quotes from some of the larger companies. The quoted prices were exorbitant (in one case three times the cost of Chesapeake). His prices were fair and his open approach appealed to me, so I decided to go with his company. He also advises me to call the company that installed my kitchen window to see if they could repair or replace the window. By taking his advises I saved on replacing the window. I am glad I did. The company is replacing the window. This saved me money for my next project. This is type of company that you want to do work for you! The David and his team worked fast and demonstrated expertise. They gave me maintenance advice and cleaned up very well before they left. Windows looked and performed beautifully. Our home is now toasty warm and our soundproofing improved dramatically! Even when there were hiccups (which always happens with home improvements), Chesapeake handled it in excellent ways. You really can't ask for more. I will happily recommend them to anyone moving forward. I already recommend Chesapeake to my class on home improvement. One student checked the rating and saw that they received a 4.9 and the instructor said use them because you would never find any company with such high rating.

Mark was our salesman. He was prompt, friendly, and professional. I selected a product and he provided the cost of the job before he left. He followed up by phone and email. After our contract was signed we were contacted by David and set an appointment so he could measure every single window. The day after he came I had a concern regarding re-hanging all our window blinds. I contacted Mark and David, and both of them responded within a couple of hours. The windows were ordered. When the windows came in David called and set the appointment for the install. On the day of installation, David and two other crew members came on time, removed old windows and installed new windows all in one day. We were pleased with the effiency and professionalism of our entire job. We wish we could hire them for all/any jobs in our home. They were the best crew ever to do work in our home. About a week later we had an concern with one window. I contacted David and he came over in two days and made the adjustment. We would defitnitely hire this company again. Cynthia T.

I called Chesapeake for a final estimate before resigning myself to losing the room, and Mark came out to take a look. He was the ONLY contractor to go up on the roof and go inside to check out the situation. Afterwards, he sent several other guys out to gather their opinions, and then brought the owner out himself, and we worked out a solution to the problem without tearing down and rebuilding, saving my gorgeous, custom-built sunroom and thousands of dollars. A couple months and several rainstorms later - no leaks!!! These guys go above and beyond for their clients, and for a reasonable price too.

I noticed that some shingles raised near the base of the smoke stack. I don't know what caused it, but the roof still performed well and didn't leak. The only thing that was affected was the appearance. However, I decided to call Kurt and ask how much it would cost to fix. He told me he would fix it free of charge because they stand my their work. We contracted with Chesapeake for our roof, five replacement windows, siding and gutters. Chesapeake was recommended to us by a colleague who indicated they were very happy with their workmanship. Phase 1 was the roof. The crew included one woman and three guys and the female member of the crew participated in all facets of the tear out and build. They took around four hours to remove the old roof (and install two new sheets of plywood over an area that had rotted). They then took about six hours to completely install the new roof (Certainteed architectural). All in one day. Absolutely amazing to watch such a talented team. Oh, and did I mention that they work in 94 degree heat!! A few weeks later a separate crew came to install the windows. Again, top class workmanship with minimal mess and first-class finish. Phase three of the job included the tear out of our old siding (we had a combination of vinyl, aluminum and wood). The crew of six incredibly skilled Koreans worked in sections and took about five days to complete a complicated job. Their workmanship was truly superb and their attention to detail was just a pleasure to watch. The foreman kept a close eye on all the work and on a few occasions insisted that a particular detail be redone. The finish detail is amazing. We essentially have a new house that is also wrapped tight with insulation. Perhaps the most complicated part of the job was wrapping our large stucco chimney in siding. This required them installing furring strips on the outside of the chimney, then wrapping the chimney in insulation (not sure why but I’m not complaining) and then covering the chimney in siding (we used Certainteed T5 straight edge siding in herringbone color). Turned out beautifully. Mark, our consultant, work with use every step of the way and was willing to requote our job several times to accommodate new features we requested. He made helpful suggestions along the way but was always willing to defer to us on issues of taste. From time to time Mark consulted with Kurt, the owner, on details that were particularly complicated (typically on the spot via a phone call or Mark would take video and get back to us the following day). Kurt was quick with his advice and always texted me with start and delivery dates. Although there were one or two rain delays, all the crews arrived exactly when promised. Everyone was very responsive to our needs. Can’t recommend Chesapeake enough. Mind you, before contracting with Chesapeake, we got several quoteds from some of the larger companies (one that regularly advertises and can sometimes we found at Ace Hardware stores hawking their services and the other better known for their fence work). Both were quoted prices that were exorbitant (in one case three times the cost of Chesapeake). In short, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Chesapeake very highly. A great experience all round (but I’m really happy all the construction is done…too stressful).

Very well. Workers are very polite. They greeted me warmly. They work quickly and efficiently and clean up so well that you would never know they had been there. When work is done, they ask me to inspect to ensure I am totally satisfied. I have used them many times for other jobs, siding, windows, roof, and gutters. All jobs were done very well at a reasonable price. They were always the lowest quote!

They responded the same day I called to survey the job and give me a quote. Even though this transpired during the Xmas holidays, they got me a contract as soon as I let them know I was choosing them to do the work. The work was done a day earlier than originally scheduled, before another round of rain. It was a one day job. There was large crew and they were conscientious in cleaning up upon completion.

The company is very professional and did great work. Mark would very hard to setup everything ahead of time from a distance, and the roofers showed up promptly at 7am and were finished by early afternoon. They were in constant communication with me during the process. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

Chesapeake Roofing installed a new roof. The price was fair. Their reviews were good. The company owner bids the jobs. Some of his employees are not careful nor respectful of the property, however the owner stayed on top of situations.

SIMONTON windows are guaranteed for life time including breakage. I had other estimates, about 30%higher than this roofing co. In addition others told me they manufacture their own windows.NO BRAND NAMEand gt; NO life time warrantee..Clean professional work on time. oUr othr family member has given contract for roofing work after my satisfactory experience.

Company was very professional and returned call promptly. When I called and told them we were previous customers, they looked us up, saw that our roof was still under warranty, and told us there would be no charge for the repairs on the part of the roof they had previously installed. They also replaced shingles on the part of the roof (over our sunroom) that they had not previously worked on. The charge for that work was only $300, for materials and labor.

The roofing was scheduled to be done two weeks after contract signed; however, an opening came up and they were able to do it more than a week early. The roofing was to be done on one day and the soffits the next day. Roofing crew arrived on time and got to work right away. They backed their almost full truck into our delapidated driveway, placed tarps over shrubbery and began removing shingles. When the truck was full they left to dump it and came back quickly and continued the removal. At some point when they backed up in the driveway they backed up onto the walkway to the front step(it protrudes slightly into the driveway) and the weight of the truck cracked off a large corner of the walkway. Annoying, but we are planning to redo our driveway anyway, so we'll just have to do that part too. We never mentioned it to the company. The tarp was covering the intersection of the two, so I'm guessing the driver never noticed it. The crew was here about half the day, but they worked efficiently. The crew didn't say much to me and mostly spoke spanish. The clean up was not perfect(a few nails in the driveway and sidewalk), but fairly good for all the mess that is made. I honestly think the nails probably fell out of the truck as it was driving away. Our roof had never looked so good! The next day a new crew came to do the siding and gutters. Boy was that a big mess in the yard! They pulled down all the old soffits and completely replaced them with new vented ones. They also replaced the wood they attach to. This crew was very jolly, mostly asian, and interacted with me a bit more. They were here a good full day as expected as this is more detailed work than reshingling. They set up scaffolding all around, removed gutters, and proceeded with all trim work. They also left a few nails about the yard and bushes, but its not like a magnet will pick up aluminum inside bushes. They walked the yard with a bucket and collected everything they saw. The only real complaint with this part was that when removing the scaffolding they left a few roof tiles lifted. My husband had to go up on the roof and tuck them back down. Not a big deal. We've worked with many contractors and this was one of our most pleasant experiences. All in all a good experience. The owner is very personable, responsive and gives a great price(lowest of 4 bids). He even accepted two coupons because the job was considered two different jobs(roof and soffits). I would reccommend these guys and use them again. Many of our neighbors have used them too and these guys have always been responsive to any issue.

Highly professional, organized, on time, very efficient. The entire roof replaced within normal working hours in one day. When they finished the surrounding grounds of my home had no indication that all this work took place. My new roof has now survived all of our recent wind, rain and snow storms. The next day the supervisor inspected the grounds for loose debris. I have already and will refer friends/family to Chesapeake Roofing.

From the beginning, the owner Kurt was very responsive and came right out to address my concerns, take a look at the roof and then gave me an estimate on sight. I got a couple other estimates and he was matched for the best price. I have family members that used him in the past and recommended him, so between that and the price, I went with Chesapeake. Kurt was very responsive and helpful by e-mail with questions and options. We ended up adding a few things to the service agreement. The crew showed up a couple minutes early and were very professional and nice. All work was done in the 2 days that they told me. Our house looks great and we have even had neighbors that have stopped by to ask about it and comment on what a good job they did.

Everything went fairly smoothly. We did have an issue with some leaking that occurred with Hurricane Sandy and it turned out something wasn't done right and they came back and fixed it. All was resolved and we would recommend or use them again if we needed to.

The job was done before lunch. They came out and did not disturb my sleeping toddler and cleaned up all of the scrap that I left behind when I pulled the siding away. I love this company.
