Snapper Electric

Initially the visit went well. On the surface, Mike pointed what no other contractor had but once I started to investigate the situation, it turned out that the work was not necessary. I even verified this with Harford County Permit office supervisor. To be fair and honest, I did ask Mike if I could supply the electrical box, grounding rod, etc because his quote was so high - ~$3,500. He initially agreed but a few days later added a caveat "...another thing to note is I cant warranty the job because the material your supplying its not the same as the my electrical suppliers,everything at home depot,and lowes are second rate supplies..." I also verified this with the manufacturer - a Square D QO 200 AMP box is a Square D QO 200 AMP box regardless of where they are purchased. It appears, the difference is the price that the end user pays (verbal communication with Customer Service at Schneider Electric). Needless to say, I did not use Mike. He was professional and honest but just did not fit our needs.

On the morning of April 22, 2013, the fire alarm in our house went off and there was an odor of an electrical problem in the upper story. Mike came that same day. He searched the attic and upper story for an electrical problem and tested the fire alarm system. He also checked the outlets on the upper level and the electrical panel in the basement. He determined that there may have been a issue with one of the fire alarm system sensors and replaced it.

Overall it was a pleasure working with Snapper. Mike is a true professional who does quality work. He offers great advice about lighting and offers suggestions on how to save money. Mike is the only contractor I've used that cleans up after his work.

We could not be happier with the work overall. He made suggestions but would not do any work until each job was thoroughly discussed between us. I highly recommend doing the safety inspection first as it gives you peace of mind for the price. He is not a high pressure sales person and did not try to sell me anything upon completion of the inspection.

Snapper Electric called me the day before the work was to begin and let me know they would arrive between 9:30-10:00am (this small window was great compared to others who give a bigger arrival window). The day the work began the arrived at 9:30am. They introduced themselves (2 men crew) and were very professional. They explained the process from beginning to end and started looking for studs. They asked my opinion as to where I wanted the recess lighting, and I worked with them, but they gave such great advise, I just went with their suggestions. They cut the holes and started the wiring, which was pretty seamless. They cleaned as they worked, and finished everything within 2 hours. How great is that? They also helped me center an island light (free of charge) and they installed a pendant light (free of charge). Now, again, how great is that? They were extremely helpful and after centering the island light, they help me patch the whole that was left behind. When they finished, the recess lights were wonderful. My family came home and were so impressed with the job, they just kept looking at the lights in awe. I would hire this company 10 times over and the price is unbeatable. The service top notch and the quality of workmanship EXCELLENT.

Mike from Snapper was on time and courteous. Did the job quicky. applied sealant to the fixture and lubricant so that bulbs would not sick in the socket. Very good, professional job.

We are so pleased that we finally found an electrician that is dependable, efficient, honorable, pleasant and didn't charge us an arm and a leg for service. Mike managed to come the same day we called and went out of his way to find the problem, which was not an easy thing to do. He fixed the problem when I know other electricians would have just replaced the breaker and not looked for the source. We are so pleased we plan to have Mike back in the spring for several other electrical jobs we have been putting off.

I had previously spoken with several electricians and not one company got back to me with a proposal or ideas. There was quite a bit of work involved as conduit needed to be installed across a long parking lot. Snapper did a great job and I am very pleased with his service and professionalism.

The first time I called Snapper Electric I was in a time bind. Our regular electrician was not available and I couldn't finish installing my new kitchen cabinets until the under-cabinet/kick space heater was installed. Mike fit me into his schedule that day and completed the job even though it turned out to be much more complicated than he had thought from my description and it was late in the day. The second time I called him he fit me in the next day which was the day before Thanksgiving because our new ceiling fans with lights weren't working and neither were our dining room lights because they were on the same circuit (okay, full disclosure, I had made a mistake when I wired the switches). Mike was here for at least an hour and only charged me $89 plus he installed the thermostat for the kick space heater at no extra charge. He went out of his way to help me when I was in a bind and I very much appreciated that. I would recommend Snapper Electric.

Due to work backlog, followed by illness of the proprietor's son, there was about a 2-week delay between arranging for the work and the beginning of the work. Proprietor went to extra lengths to get started on the work as soon as he could, and then worked long hours over a two day period to get the job done as quickly as possible. Contractor was conscientious about minimizing lawn damage and restoring conditions. Since the work was performed (about 6 weeks ago), no problems have occurred and the lighting has worked well.

I called Snapper Electric when we realized our whole house generator wasn't working, which was the day before my husband and I were leaving for a week long vacation. My 85 year old father who is on oxygen was going to be alone for that period of time and we were becoming very anxious about the situation. Michael offered to come the following day which was a Sunday, but we felt it could wait until early the following week as long as the weather remained nice. He came out on Tuesday and my father reported to me that the experience was a very positive one. Michael checked things out and purchased and replaced the battery within a few hours. We were very satisfied with his work and his concern for our situation.

When I called Snapper Electric, Mike answered his phone immediately. I briefly explained over the phone what we wanted done. He asked me to send him an email with details which I did and he returned an estimate to me that same evening. We agreed on the price and date to start and Mike emailed me a contract the next day. He was delayed slightly the first day because the highway had been shut down due to an accident, but he called and arrived within minutes of his original start time. He asked for a tour of the rooms to be worked in and then he got right to work. He was very detailed and professional. He didn't even mind me following him around asking questions. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it. He also covered his work area so he didn't get drywall dust everywhere and cleaned up when he was finished. We have more electrical work that needs to be done and are having Mike back to do that. I think the prices are fairly competitive and I would definitely recommend Snapper Electric.

They did a great job and were very nice. I basically just followed him doing the work and asked questions and generally picked his brain (I am a new homeowner) . He seemed to like sharing his wisdom which made for a good rapport. He did some of the work for "free", although they are well paid-which I am not complaining about. I did not get any other estimates so I cannot really be sure if the price was competitive but I do not feel ripped off or anything. He offered his suggestions for things, like light placement for example, but let me make the final decision and suggested future upgrades in line with what I was having done. Both times he said he would show up between 7 and 8 and he showed up at 8. He went above and beyond when I noticed I had a roof leak while he was doing his thing (I noticed the spot on the ceiling) and he pointed out how the attic fan was not on, when it should have been-it was really hot. When he was all finished the electrical work I called him for, he went back up in the attic to see if he could identify the probable leak location (which he did) and quickly looked at the non-working fan to see if there was any obvious cause.

The man who came did a very nice job. It was a fairly urgent situation and he made the time to come. His price was reasonable.

Better than expected. He came over and fixed the light fixture and replaced the all the fixtures.

We did not use Snapper Electric based on price quote. He was couple hundred dollars higher than other quotes. He was very responsive and punctual. We would definitely seek quotes for other jobs in the future.

The technician showed up on time and in a lettered company truck. He was quick and knowledgable about what he was doing. He cleaned up his trash. I would highly recommend using this company as I have no complaints. Thanks for a job well done and at an affordable price.

I called Snapper Electric about 8:30 in the morning when I woke up to find that half my house was without electricity. He come to my house within the hour, checked the fuse panels and discovered that the problem was outside my house and that BGE would have to fix it. He was very concerned and asked if I needed him to stay until BGE got here.

We had an unfinished basement that we decided to finish. I have used Mike from Snapper Electric before so called for an estimate. As usual, Mike was prompt, thorough and helped us with the guidance on where to put all outlets, lights, etc. If Mike was unsure of the Harford County code, he would do his research before going further. He made sure to thoroughly inspect the fuse box to make sure anything he added, did not overload the box. He performed all work according to the Harford County code requirements. He wired the entire basement to include a 4 closets, bathroom, living room, bedroom and Wetbar. He also helped us with the placement of all lighting fixtures, which was extremely helpful. Mike is friendly, kept the area clean at all times and was very punctual. I enjoyed working with Mike and will continue to do so for all future projects.

He arrived, introduced himself and looked at the job then brought in his tools. He removed the old light fixture and patched the hole in my ceiling. ( We were replacing the light due to water damage). He then hung the base for the new fixture. Once it was in place he put bulb in it to test it. All of the bulbs would not stay lit..one continued to go out. So he took the time to replace certain circuit parts that kept the bulbs from staying lit. When that was done he was able to put in all the bulbs and place the cover on. Because the cover was such a perfect fit with no wiggle room, he did also make a recommendation to my husband that he make some adjustments to extend the ledge somehow.

Snapper Electric was great! The price was very impressive, and Michael always called ahead to confirm work times, and showed up exactly when he said he said, and completed everything as it was laid out in the estimate. The only surprises were good ones!
