Bob Hagis does all the work himself with another gentleman (Ernie). They, particularly Ernie, clearly take pride in their work and everything looks great. They were the only company out of the 4 that I got quotes from that offered a lifetime warranty on the work and a 25 year warranty on the materials. They were also by far the cheapest. Since there were not any recent reviews on Angie's List, I asked for references, received 10, and called or emailed them all. I received responses from 5 and all were very happy with the work. Bob specializes and does only poly replacement which I also liked. When Bob gave me the quote, he said the job would take 4-5 days (the other quotes I received said 2-3 days which sounded a bit unrealistic considering the size of the job) . They started on a Thursday, did not work during the following weekend, and finished on Friday so the job took 7 business days - 9 all together. They did a very good job cleaning up every day and leaving our house very functional (water on/showers working/toilets flushing) but we had to scramble to take time off of work that we hadn't planned to to accommodate them going over schedule. It also felt like the job could have been shorter if they had been willing to put in longer days. Bob showed up between 9:30-10:30 every day and left between 2:30 - 3:30pm. We really pushed them to finish up on that last Friday (day #7). Part of the delay was related to the work not passing the first inspection by the Howard County inspector (the inspector took issue with some thingamabob related to the master bath scald prevention mechanism and the fact that the installed hot water pipes were not insulated (a county code requirement). RN Hagis addressed the issues and passed the 2nd inspection. With that said, I would recommend them. They left our house looking very good and we're very happy with the work and the price we paid. UPDATE: About a year later we had new bathroom floors installed and the installer said our master bath toilet shut off valve was leaking. Since this was replaced by RN Hagis a year ago during the replumb and should still be under the warranty, I called Bob. He promptly returned my call and came out to inspect the leak (which turned out not to be leak but rather a small piece of glue preventing the valve from shutting off completely). I appreciated his responsiveness and willingness to honor his warranty.
Description of Work: Replaced all my polybutylene pipes with CPVC and prep access walls/ceiling for homeowner to paint. Also provided and installed 1 toilet, 2 shower heads/faucets, and a laundry room sink faucet.

The good: Bob and his crew arrived on time and had the pipe replaced within 9 hours. In my neighborhood, when the original polybutylene pipes fail regularly, a one-day replacement is almost unheard of. While he was in the house, Bob also updated the pressure valve on my water main, and added a tank to my water heater without my asking him to do so, because this brought all the plumbing up to code on my 1991 house. The not-so-good: Bob described the replacement as a simple job - dig a hole in the front yard, run a cable through the existing pipe, use the cable to pull the new pipe through the old, done within 6 hours without complications. However, there were complications. The old pipe had a joint in it that prevented the cable from getting through. They had to dig a hole in my driveway to reach the blockage. Then they had to dig a second hole in the driveway. Finally, they had to dig a hole in my garage floor and use a "missile" to dig from the garage hole back to the original yard hole. Bob's contract with me specifically excluded concrete repairs, and he was honest about saying they might need to dig through concrete when we originally arranged the repair, but he also said that he had to do this in almost none of his work. The amount of damage to the concrete is $1000 more than the price of the pipe repair. My husband, who was at work at the time, tried to talk to Bob on the phone about just digging a hole in the garage rather than the two holes in the driveway as well, then shoot the missile through the garage hole to the yard hole, but he feels Bob blew him off. In the end, the hole in the garage alone would have done the job. By the time the crew was digging the hole in my garage, Bob's crew had stopped being as careful about containing the mess. Everything in my garage, baby stroller, bikes, gardening supplies, was left untarped and was covered, COVERED with concrete dust. The most frustrating part to me about this was that I wasn't consulted before each new hole was dug. I kept going outside to check on what was happening, but if I hadn't, they would have kept digging holes without saying anything to me. I feel like when a job becomes more complicated, one should consult with the homeowner and lay out options. And as mentioned before, when my husband suggested just digging the garage hole, he felt as if he were ignored. As mentioned above, the plumbing was first rate. If you have a straightforward poly replacment with no concrete standing between you and the water main, Bob would be a terrific choice to be your plumber. My neighbor had a great experience with him - no complications, done in 4 hours, minimal damage to her yard, but she didn't have any concrete to tear up. Otherwise . . .

Bob and Mike were always punctual and very professional. They did the job well and within the time (5 days) they said it would take to complete. They also did a great job at cleaning up after themselves. I'm very happy and would highly recommend them to anyone needing their polybutylene pipes replaced.

Completely excellent! The crew was professional, neat, timely -- actually done sooner than they said. I would strongly recommend RN Hagis to anyone in the Baltimore area who needs polybutylene replacement.
Description of Work: Bob Hagis and his crew replaced our polybutylene pipe. This is all his company does, as far as I know. We received estimates from other plumbers ranging from 2000 to 10,000 for the same job. We chose Bob, not the cheapest but very reasonable, because it is all he does.

Overall an excellent experience. Bob and his assistant were on-time every day. Took great care while in my house to ensure minimal disruption while the work was going on. The quality of work was great and they were extremely neat. He completed the work within the stated time frame and I would recommend Bob to anyone who needs poly piping replaced in their homes.

Excellent. Very professional and great workmanship. Very knowledgeable and was able to fix some of the nagging things with old pipes (banging noises). Completed the job while I was on vacation with no issues what so ever. I wish they did more than just plumbing.
