I don't know what the deal is with these folks. It took quite some time and effort to get them to show up. I had to go back and forth with them several times with phone tag then messages through Angie's List while I was away on business. They seem to not want to use email for some reason but for me personally, that is the best way to communicate. This does not pose a problem most of the time for other business I conduct. When they did show up and send a proposal, they did not give me what I asked for. When I messaged them, they did respond with ok we'll come back. But then they showed up yesterday without making an appointment first. I had to tell the guy face to face that we'd already given the business to someone else. So I can't really say anyone was unprofessional or that they didn't or wouldn't do a good job. I didn't get that far with them. What I will mention is that their proposal was just a price quote. No details on anything that would have been done had I hired them. I think in the landscaping business it is better if you have a detailed proposal listing clearly what work is to be done so both sides know what they are signing up for.

Very well done and in a timely fashion. I needed one of the trellis's adjusted and they immediately came back to resolve the issue.

They a very polite project manager, he came out and explained to me every detail how to fix my wall. He also gave me different options based on my budget. I had a very good experience with the office staff, their communication is very clear and they kept me informed the entire time about scheduling the job. The professionals in this company is outstanding and I highly recommend Xtra Care to my neighbours.

Came out and did an assessment. I had trouble communicating with them exactly what I wanted. They created a nice graphic design for me, but it just wasn't what I was actually wanting done. Their price was reasonable from other competing companies.

A total hassle. We provided them with some basic ideas and a sketch of our interests and they delivered a plan that took little to none of it in consideration. It made us think that none of our feedback got back to the person laying out the design. When they came to present it we told them we needed to review and revise but they seemed more interested in signing the contract and they sent a quote for the install of a design we weren't happy with. They are horrible communicators and it complete waste of our time and money.

The deal was good and the design was also good. I didn’t use them but it was good to get the design done. They came out somewhere as soon as the big deal was bought. It was just as soon as it was scheduled around. So they did a good job of accommodating that and doing that. They didn’t charge me anything more than the big deal amount. They kind of really cared about it and wanted to do a good job of it.

They quoted me probably $4500 or something. I think their desire to figure out what was needed there and help from them in providing options and things, is what stood out to me. The yard was 300 square feet or something that they were quoting me for. I just kind of didn’t agree with some of the things that were in there but that was just a take on it. I didn’t use them, but I think they’re an ideal company and would look them up if needed in the future.

Did a great job, providing native plants as requested.

The plan looked good,and I thought we'd go ahead with it; however, it was rather expensive. Then when I asked for the contract, it was sent on the computer;and at the time my printer wasn't working. I asked for it to be mailed to me in hard copy,and I would mail my down payment back with it;however, I never received it. After calling back, and still not getting it, I gave up. I think it may have been partially due to a language barrier with the (secretary)??

Cleber and the team at Xtra care were very responsive, coming over to my house for an estimate within a couple days of me calling. Price was very competitive and they were able to schedule the work within a couple of weeks. We live in a row house in Columbia Heights and they were able to put in what looks like a proper backyard. Backyard looks great. Easy to work with, prompt service, good price.

We scheduled an appointment and I felt like I had to meet their schedule more than they had to meet mine. We finally arrived on a date and they came out, but I'm still waiting to receive the plans. The gentleman was very professional, prompt, and knowledgeable about landscaping and plants in general. He definitely knew what he was looking at and offered alternatives I hadn't even thought of. They said I'd receive the plans within three weeks. I will be getting other estimates, but I look forward to their proposal.

They arrive on time, they are very professional. The grass looks great every time they cut. The also did tree trimming, and took down a few trees for us. They have very competitive pricing well below other competitors. He is very accessible and great to work with.

Very punctual and the crew very politely. Excellent service and detail priewted. We are more than happy with our new back and front yard. Hard working team and excellent service.

The Xtra Care team were all present at the start of the project. The owner, Clebor Rodriguez, called me at work to clarify some details and ask questions. I was very pleased about this. Their stonemason is incredibly skilled and the flower bed in back looks fantastic and matches my old stone walls really well. In the front, he leveled our new steps vertically and horizontally. His whole approach is very thoughtful. He takes his time fitting each stone. As it turned out the original walkway was not quite perpendicular to the house and so this made the landing slightly out of square with the new stairs and the house. The walkway was completely finished and grouted when I walked out my front door and saw it for the first time. My husband knew right away that the original walk was out of square and he felt that the slight bend in the walk was not a problem. As a visual Artist I really needed to see the stones lined up straight and I asked Clebor to come look at it and see if there was anything that could be done. He showed up the next day, and we talked it over. They put us on the schedule again and this week they took the entire landing out and re-did the work free of cost. I was so impressed with their professionalism. They demonstrated integrity, treating the correction as seriously as the original job. I am beyond satisfied and I am now considering hiring them to do our regular lawn care next season. I also want to mention that although the Schip Laurel were planted in mid-summer, they are doing great which would indicate good quality plants.

Cleber was punctual, professional, had great ideas and was easy to communicate with. He provided his estimate promptly after our meeting. We ended up going with another contractor for a random reason; based on our experience getting an estimate from them, we would have been happy to go with Xtra Care.

All the time, I have a contract with them. A lot of people would come and I have an expensive garden that come from Latin America. They have a good guy who knows plans and I talked to them a lot more about plans. They are willing to listen to me and work with me. I had 2 complaints last year about the guy using too big a mower and they were carrying up one of the lawns. I said go buy a small mower they can walk behind and not 2 in 1. They mark the whole range of mower because I am standing the only one. They are responsive. It is competitive.

Xtracare was fantastic. Clebar came to my house (a rowhouse in DC), walked over the property and gave me wonderful advice on how to transform our backyard full of weeds into a great space that we will use for years to come. With the help of Angela, Clebar came back to our house with a 3D design that we loved and at a price far lower than others we spoke to. While we waited for our scheduled date to come up, Meiriane was great about keeping us informed on possible weather delays and where we were on our schedule. When the day arrived, Wilfredo and the rest of his crew did a fantastic job of executing the vision on time. I am so happy with the end product and highly recommend xtracare for any landscaping project.

the make mistakes in measurement of the back yard, of the pipes to downspouts and a few other things. The paving at the end was good ,not so much the other things but they have two pearls: their secretary Meiriane and the manager Wilfredo that I'm sure are constantly saving the owner with their professionalism and good manners

Angela met with me to look at the area which needed sprucing up and some creative thought. She took pictures, designed 4 different options, and then met with me again. After that, she kept me informed of the time frame for installation and once that time arrived, she was on-site in a yellow smock instructing the men on where each plant was to go. We have signed a one-year contract with the company and I'm looking forward to continuing this relationship. The property looks great!

I highly recommend Xtra Care. I received multiple estimates for this job, and while Xtra Care wasn't the lowest their price was very reasonable. When the low bidder flaked on me, I called Xtra Care. They were prompt and the job was done well. Nearly one year later, the grass in our backyard looks great!

The job was well done. The men were friendly and explained all steps of the construction. There was a small communication issue, but we worked through that with out much trouble. There was also an issue with the final payment, but again, that was worked out to everyone's agreement. I would definitely use this group again. They were prompt, and professional throughout the entire process.

We cannot say enough about Cleber, Fred, and the crew who worked on our house - from the beginning, working with them was a pleasure. We asked several companies (all found on Angie's List) to bid for our project. We very much wanted the retaining wall to be wood (6x6s); one company wouldn't even come out; another did, but then wouldn't provide an estimate for the project with a wood retaining wall. We remain unsure about why - wooden retaining walls are everywhere, and this wall is holding back a relatively small rise, not a significant hill. In any event, Cleber came out quickly, walked the project with me, made numerous excellent suggestions, answered all of our questions about boxwood species, grading issues, etc., and provided an estimate for exactly what we wanted. His was the low estimate, which we initially viewed as a mark against - we've done a huge landscape project and some significant interior projects too, and have never chosen the low bid. We decided to go with Xtra Care based on the strength of Angie's List reviews. Best decision we ever made. Cleber sent photos of the types of stones we could use for the walkway; when we had trouble deciding based on those, he agreed to meet us at the quarry and show us a variety of choices. We agreed on a start date, and Fred and his crew arrived when they promised. Fred and I walked the property, and he suggested some refinements regarding the retaining wall - all of which we agreed to, all of which involved more work, and none of which increased the price. The guys got to work, worked incredibly hard, and left the place immaculate. Taking out the invasive tree was not easy because it was in a tight space; they were incredibly careful. Then we had two days of absolutely drenching rain. As soon as the rain stopped, they were back, and Cleber patiently responded to my questions about whether they should resume so quickly following the rain. I don't know the name of the guy who built the retaining wall, but he's a true craftsman - it looks fabulous, it's solid as a rock, and it's beautifully integrated into our backyard. Same with the walkway. Cleber said it would take three days of work, and that was exactly right. Toward the end, I asked about the grading at the top of the rise - an hour later, Fred showed up with additional earth and the crew worked it in as the sun went down. It was clear no one was going anywhere until everything was perfect. We could not be happier with the quality of the work or the experience we had. This was not a case of our getting our money's worth - we got much more. We've hired Xtra Care to do our regular lawn work, and it's hard to imagine hiring anyone else for anything landscape related.

The contractor and crew were punctual, polite, congenial, professional and very creative and competent. The crew arrived early each day and worked until roughly 5:30, except for a couple of rain days and weekends.. The job was completed in five workdays. Debris was removed daily. The office assistant was always available to answer questions or help in any other way to aid in the successful and timely completion of this project. To say that I am exceptionally pleased with the work done would be an understatement. But I am not the only one delighted with my new walkway. Neighbors and friends have been very complimentary about the results. I even received a compliment from the owner of company that mows my law. He also does landscaping and brickwork and was impressed by the transformation. I look forward to hiring this company to landscape the remainder of my property at a later date.

I was totally impressed with Clieber Rodrigues, the owner. He drew plans on the spot and was able to accommodate my requirement to have the job done in time for my daughter's graduation party. There were a couple of weather-related scares that caused them to work twice as hard to meet my deadline including the need to install a 3 inch PVC pipe for flood control. But, they did the week long job in 4 days and my daughter's party was the social event! Wilfredo and crew were very professional. Nice guys who cleaned up their site very nicely each day and were on time. I have had to contract Clieber for after care advice on my plants and he was helpful. I hope to use them again for more landscaping work.
