I originally thought they had done a good job. Their employees were professional and polite and they seemed to be very competent. However a couple of weeks ago one of the fittings they installed leading to an exterior hose bib failed, resulting in my basement flooding. I called to have them come out, and they did respond in a timely manner. While fixing the problem, their technician stated that this was definitely not a problem with the pipe having frozen over the winter (as I mentioned it led to an exterior hose bib) and that most likely it was a defective part or a faulty installation. Further he mentioned that it was installed in an unusual way that was not typical for their company. Given all of these explanations, I figured I could look to them to help out with the costs to repair my flooded basement (which was roughly $2,500). That was not the case. The owner, Tim Godaire, explained that it was all my responsibility as the one-year warranty on their work had already expired. By 22 days. I understand how warranties work (I used to run a customer service department) but the fact that he was completely unwilling to discuss helping out in any way just does not sit right with me. No offer to pay, no offer to split the cost, no offer to help out in any way. Just the line "Your warranty expired, there's nothing I can do". I can assure you when I worked in customer service and a customer had spent $20,000 with my company, we bent over backwards to keep them happy. If a warranty expired five years ago that was one thing, but 22 days? We would do the right thing and help out the customer. Sometimes that meant eating some costs, which we did not like, but it was the right thing to do, both professionally and personally. So overall as I said I originally thought their work was okay (with the exception of one issue (so far) that turned out to be fairly disastrous). But if you use them just be sure to check all of their work and make a claim before that drop dead warranty date appears because after that they don't seem to care about their customers or doing the right thing.
