Excellent job! Both workers were highly professional. They were so polite and very responsive to my questions. The ceilings in my bathrooms look like new. The grout looks perfect. They took their time and did a great job! I asked them if they would fix the crack in my dining room wall, which was not part of the original request. I paid $65 for an additional hour of work above the Big Deal price of $335, which I thought was a very reasonable price. The workers cleaned up perfectly. You would never have known that they had been there. I am so pleased with the work done. Mickey, the owner, called me that afternoon to make sure that the work was performed up to my expectations. I was very impressed and would not hesitate to call them again. In fact, I am going to use this company to do a complete renovation of my basement. I received estimates from 3 other companies. Mickey was competitively priced (but not the lowest). Given the great job his workers did on my bathrooms, I am confident that they will do a great job on my basement renovation.

Scheduled and then company called to reschedule. Very personable English speaking person with his assistant. It was supposed to be 1 man/6 hours or 2 men/3-3.5 hours. With the 2 men/3 hours, the ceiling was mudded so it did did not have time to dry. I had to wait and sand it later. Also, the ceiling was cut in with no further work done within the time alloted. The main man stated in the beginning that he would be "in-and-out" checking on other jobs. He was in-and-out. He is the one who "lightly" cut in the paint on the ceiling, and I had to go over everything he did because it was a strip around the ceiling. . In the end, did I get 6 hours of work, I would say NO. The repair was something that I probably could have done, but chose to have a "professional" do it. With me finishing the mudding, was it professional - NO. Was the cutting in helpful, NO. And, after they left, I was taking the paint cans to the basement, and found paint splotches and splatters in the hall where the paint was used that I had to clean up. This was my first experience using an Angie's List contractor, and I question the value.

Overall, their work was great. I had them concentrate on getting the bedrooms and hallway ready for caulking and painting. This is an old house with wide baseboards and window/door trim. Since I had the millwork rough cut, they immediately started to work once I showed them what they needed to reproduce in the other bedrooms that had already been finished. They required no real supervision, although I did stick around to see how well they worked so I could decide if I might use them in the future. The boss showed up just as we finished up, to check on his employees and make sure I was satisfied. And he asked to give a Angie's writeup that reflected what I thought of their work. I kept them an extra hour past the Big Deal, because it was clear they had made good progress and only needed about an hour to get all the work done I had hoped for.

I decided not to have the work done, due to finances, but his quote was reasonable and it solved the problem in my bathroom.

I thought they were very good at getting back to me and giving me the quote. I thought their price was reasonable. The only reason we didn't go with them is that we went with somebody who had worked in some of our neighbor's house. So we figured, they were recommended and we didn't know Hassle Free at all.

Just like you we looked at Mickey?s website, rang up homeowners, checked BBB, surveyed online reviews. We examined photos, analyzed close-ups, peppered questions, grilled HFHI for weeks, before signing. The crew entered our home. Leandro their master craftsman doesn?t lay tile or backsplashes, instead he sculpts them. Our nickname for him: Michelangelo. He meticulously arrayed our mosaic marble floor. He hand-crafted our new wooden cabinet installation down to thirty-seconds of an inch. Steve, the foreman walks in a room and detects a one-inch floor slant by eye sight. Incredibly a tri-leveled laser beam proves him right. Our marble floor required less than 1/8 inch mortar joints. We were unaware an unleveled floor translates into uneven jagged mortar joints. Our floor is perfectly smooth because of Steve?s years of know how. So, there?s our experience and then there?s?well?Mickey?s experience, and those two halves should help make up your mind to go with HFHI. Mickey spent years, searching relentlessly to find sensitive, talented, exacting craftsmen. Best part: work was done ahead of schedule. The Job was done just as I planned and done well.

They were professional, courteous, on-time, on-schedule and on-budget. We are very satisfied with the workmanship. There we very few items that made it to the punch list, and Mickey had his on site supervisor address all of those before accepting final payment. I highly recommend them. We are considering rebuilding our kitchen, and Hassle Free will be one of the bidders.

Mickey Taff and his staff were extremely professional--from first contact, through the very well-developed estimate, to execution, to follow-up. They took time to understand what we had in mind and to make suggestions about things we had not thought of. Mickey has good relationships with vendors for products such as tile, plumbing parts, appliances, cabinets, granite, hardwood floors, glass etc. The plumber and electrician he uses were very capable and worked well with the team. We can't say enough about the Hassle Free employees. They were very knowledgeable about all aspects of the extensive kitchen and master bath renovation we did and obviously had experience with every facet of the job. The craftsmen work as a team--each with h own expertise but committed to doing the best possible job. We totally trusted having them in our home and looked forward to seeing what they accomplished each day. They cleaned up very well at the end of each day and our house stayed as functional as possible throughout the project.

Everything was done according to plan and budget. Hassle Free Home Improvements Inc. were accommodating, personable, and stayed on schedule. The process was made as streamlined as possible and the contractors were very prompt and responsive to our needs and requests. As with any construction project, there were a few minor critiques and punch list items that we noted at the preliminary inspection (ie: gaps in the trim pieces and small unfinished areas); however, the foreman was very prompt in making the necessary corrections and in meeting our high standards for approval. Overall, the final inspection went well and we remain fully satisfied with the quality of the work product.

Of all the companies I received estimates from Mickey from Hassle Free Home Improvements was the most impressive! He contacted me during his vacation and scheduled a timely appointment the next week. On the day of the appointment, he arrived early. Mickey came prepared with creative ideas and samples of cabinets. He took a great deal of time to understand my needs, provide thoughtful ideas and draft a plan on the spot. He followed up with an estimate like he promised and was willing to make adjustments on our estimate without sacrificing quality. Within several weeks of our meeting our kitchen remodel plans we decided to do more kitchen updates versus a full-scale remodel we discussed with Mickey. We plan to relocate out of the area in the next several months. I would highly recommend Mickey and we would've definitely worked with him had our plans not changed.

The project went very smoothly. The owner met with us and gave us a written contract very quickly and a time frame. Within the specified time frame he met with us for a pre-construction meeting with his foreman. The foreman and workers are all extemely friendly and helpful. The work was completed on time and to our satisfaction. The owner is very conscientious about meeting the time frame and that the customer is pleased with the work. We have used Hassle-Free before and will use them again if another project comes up.

Mickey was punctual and evaluated our basement remodeling needs. I thought he was knowledgeable and professional and although we did not select him for this job, we would consider getting an estimate for other work in the future because we believe he would do quality work. His prices were on the high side for the scope of work proposed and I was disappointed to have not received a more detailed proposal with a drawing/diagram and measurements, etc. We gave Mickey a B on professionalism only because we felt that the proposal was lacking in detail. Otherwise, he certainly deserves an A.

Mickey was prompt with his appointment time and accurate with his estimate. His crew was very professional, showed up promptly every day, and were respectful of my needs (difficult with 3 small kids and 2 dogs). They cleaned up every evening before leaving. The project was forecast to take 6 weeks and ended up taking 8 weeks, but mostly because we added on a few additional projects as we went along. The project manager Steve was incredibly adept at working and scheduling his subcontractors (his were electrician, plumber, hardwood floor guy) and mine (kitchen designer, granite guy). He would schedule projects around my work schedule (sometimes I work nights and sleep during the day) and included me on project decisions. When I asked about installing a new front door, they put me in touch with someone and made it happen. The tile floor and backsplash are amazing and their installer Leondro is a true artist. On the whole, they made what could have been a disastrous experience (no kitchen with 3 kids and pets), tolerable and almost pleasant. I would work them again and recommend them highly.

It went very well. The company is very easy to work with. The owner met with us for the proposal and an a pre-construction meeting and was always very concerned that we were happy with the work. The construction supervisor and staff were all very friendly and easy to work with. They keep in touch on a daily basis with a notebook for comments from you and from them as well as email and phone calls when appropriate. They stayed on budget, there were no surprises and they finished before my deadline.

They did a fabulous job. They did what they said they would do. They were on time. They kept the house as clean as possible while working. They cleaned up every day. They vacuumed, doing their best to keep dust to a minimum. They were very nice to work with. It looked great. We are very happy with it.

They were professional. I just decided to go another way. They didn't get the job, but I would consider them again. They had very detailed quotes.

Hassle Free Home Improvements exceeded our expectations for working with a home remodeling company. They created two beautiful spaces in our home which we enjoy daily - our master bath and kitchen. Mickey and his foreman Steve both handled the unavoidable home construction challenges (schedule changes, imperfect supplies, scheduling subcontractors) with competency, confidence and a relaxed and flexible attitude that really took the stress right off our shoulders. The foreman, Steve, was a constant presence on the job and was an excellent manager of his crew and the subs. The crew was pleasant and unobtrusive - which is no small feat considering that they worked in the center of my home. Mickey and Steve demanded the best work and service from all of their subcontractors - and when there was a problem they would handle it expediently without putting me in the middle. Mickey and Steve are great problem solvers and truly honest. For example, one day Steve came to me to let me know that they had forgotten to install extra insulation in the ceiling that we had requested and that he'd be installing it for us that day. The ceiling was already complete and I would have never known about the oversight, except for his candor and honesty. Without a second thought, the crew opened up the newly installed and painted ceiling, installed the insulation, hung new drywall, patched and painted it to look like new. Not only did they identify the problem, but they solved and remedied it without delaying the completion of the job. Remodeling is a messy business, yet Hassle Free and their subcontractors left my home as clean as possible, and safe for my young children, at the end of each work day. This really took the stress off for me, too, as I didn't have to worry about my toddler hurting himself with errant wires, nails or construction materials. I'm not sure I've said enough about the quality of their work - it is exceptional. Mickey and Steve are both perfectionists and demand the highest quality of work from both the crew and the subcontractors. Hassle Free's attention to detail was amazing. Both my kitchen and bath look like they belong in an exclusive mansion in Chevy Chase or on the pages of a home design magazine. We are thrilled with the end results - we now have a beautiful designer kitchen and master bath and we are so happy with how they made it as hassle free as possible. Our friends thought we were crazy but we were so happy with the job that they did that that we threw them (Mickey, Steve and crew) a party in our new kitchen to thank them. It has been several months since we finished our home improvement projects with Hassle Free Home Improvements and I can say that their excellent work is standing up to the test of time. We would hire them again for our next home improvement project without hesitation.
