Mahon Plumbing

Once I determined that I couldn't clear the clog myself, I consulted Angies List for plumbers. I don't know exactly why I selected Mahon over any of the other highly rated plumbers listed, but I'm glad I did. I called them and made an appointment and Shane arrived at the appointed time. He had to snake the pipe about 6 feet down the line. He was finished in no time at all, including clean up, and out the door within a half hour of arriving. Shane was efficient, courteous and a real hoot! The reason I gave Mahon a "B" in price was due to my envy of not being able to make $200 for less than 30 minutes work. Frankly I have no idea what the going rate for plumbers is. All I know is that I had a sink that was clogged up, I didn't know how to snake a pipe and figured this was a task best left to a professional. So if you want a pro to solve your problem, you gotta pay 'em!

They provide 24 hour service, so that’s good. They fixed whatever issues that I had, but they didn’t provide a cleanup.

We have a very tight crawl space & he spend a good 2 hours down there with a heat gun unfreezing our pipes. Everything went very well!

After my water bills began increasing to ridiculous levels, I had my plumbing inspected, and got the bad news - my main water line was leaking, and would have to be dug up and replaced. SInce I had an old water heater, I decided to price getting it replaced at the same time. I got two estimates, and Mahon came in significantly cheaper. I decided to go with them. Because of a cancellation in their schedule, they were able to come the next day. All the work was completed in one day. They had to dig a trench in my front lawn, under my sidewalk, and replace the main water line. They also hauled away my old water heater and put in a new one. Because of the position of the new water line, they had to cut a hole in my basement wall to install the new main water valve. I was expecting to have to patch up the hole in my basement wall myself, as well as refill any dirt still dug up in my lawn. But the Mahon personnel completely filled the trench back in, smoothed over the lawn, and reseeded it and put down a layer of straw. Then Mr. Mahon himself came the next night to finish patching and painting over the drywall in my basement. When a couple of weeks later, rains caused a couple of large sinkholes to appear in my lawn, I called Mahon, and they sent a couple of men with a truckload of dirt to fill them in. Overall, my experience with Mahon was excellent. No one wants to incur this kind of expense, but they did the work for a reasonable price, quickly, and went above and beyond in doing cleanup and follow-up. Mr. Mahon appears to genuinely care about customer satisfaction and earning your business.

The office personnel phoned in response to my email to schedule the job. She was courteous and helpful to fit our schedule. The service tech phoned as he was leaving the job ahead of ours so we were prepared for his arrival. He was clean, polite and finished the job in good time. They gave my mother a senior discount, too ! :)

So impressed with this company. What a wonderful group of people!..from the beginning when I talked to Anne Marie, the Secretary .so professional, friendly and helpful. She represents the company so well...to the Plumber Shane, providing excellent and professional service. You can tell he takes pride in his work. He fixed 2 toilets (had to pull 1) and also install a new hot water heater. The original hot water heater was 100 gallons! It had to come up the steps and out of our basement. Anyone else would have been moaning and groaning ( it was such a monster! )Shane just called it a "Big Boy". He did it with help from Keith, who also is such a nice guy. Afterwards Shane and Keith were even smiling. So nice to think there is a plumbing company out there that is so Great! All of this took place in 1 day!

A do-it-yourself job that got out of hand... We called three plumbers on Angie's List and Mahon was the only one who called back and was willing to come. Plumber Shane was prompt, courteous, and polite, and made us laugh to boot. He repaired the stem and installed two shut-off valves in the pipes to the bathtub faucet. One of the valves was leaking so he had to redo it with a new valve. No problems afterwards, and no more dripping in the bathtub!

What I liked was their professionalism, efficiency and being on time. They finished everything up in one day. They were the key part of getting the proper permits and keeping us informed about the way this whole water system worked. They got the necessary permits. They brought the inspector. It was very helpful because we absolutely had no clue as to what needed to be done and who to contact. They did it for us. He has a very useful and helpful knowledge about everything. He's also really great because in terms of keeping us stress-free throughout the whole thing. We were ready to basically pay him upfront and he kept us calm about that. They were really good about that. As a result, everything was done in one day. They gave us a date and we didn't have to change the date. They showed up at 7:30 in the morning with the permit in hand. It was really fantastic. They did a really good job. They were very careful in the garden. They gave us a clear idea of where they were going to be digging and what plants would be affected. It was back to normal within two to three weeks.

We had a major sewage backup (couldn't use toilets, sinks, etc.) immediately following Thanksgiving. After a bad job by Roto-Rooter, we called Mahon. Despite being on a Saturday, they came promptly, gave us a fair estimate, and got to work the next day. They were lightning-fast in getting permits and getting up-and-running, and they finished within the estimated amount of time. They left the area clean, and best of all, left us with running water!

It was fine and they've always done a nice job. They were very responsive and I would definitely refer them. They always come within the day you called them.

He came to my driveway a half hour before my window of time (8 am.- 12 pm.). I didn't know he was there. He did not come to the door and knock . He phoned me at 7:50am. I let him in to do the work. I supplied the faucet set-up. He used nothing extra. He was done within an hour. Yet he wanted to charge me for two hours@ 98.00 an hour. I asked for a senior discount. He gave me 10 % off.My bill came to $176.40. When I called and complained, I did't get immediate satisfaction. They told me to wait until the next day because they had to check with the plumber. The plumber counted the time from 7:30 and the time he took talking and filling paperwork out .I did't think any of that was right They called back and said they would take 50% off the second hour. The paper work .should have been filled out ahead of time. I don't think I should have been charged into the next hour. One more thing- the plumber told me the price included his travel time. I had an appointment!

We had an idea where the problem was coming from, but it turned out we were wrong. The plumber was able to identify the problem and propose a solution that was very cost-effective.

The guys from Mahan were very professional and even wore shoe covering when thay came into my home. They knew what they were looking for and even made recommendations on how I could save money and headaches related to typical plumbing issues normally seen in homes. Great service!

I had just purchased a townhome with 4 bathrooms and they are all the original toilets from the year it was built, 1993. Every unit was operating fine to my knowledge except for one that would keep running. Shane came right at 8am and in about 35 minutes went to every toilet, tested it for any possible leaks, and noticed that the water level adjuster was not set right. I mentioned to him that the flush on every toilet seemed very "weak" and that was right away what he looked at and showed me, that the water level was set too low, so the tank was not filling to the proper level to give the right amount of a "flush." Shane also took the time to show me a very easy fix on the toilet that I was complaining about running, and it was that the chain was getting stuck in the flapper valve, so that was a simple fix. What I respected and appreciated the most from Shane was his professionalism, and his willingness to show and explain to me everything he was doing so I could learn myself. A true professional and he was very honest about how much he takes pride in his work (and it shows!). Thank you very much Mahon Plumbing and Shane, and once again Angies List for providing me another great experience/referral. I will also say that the rep I spoke to over the phone handling my initial call was extremely nice as well, not your typical secretary that takes a name and number. Was very nice and professional as well. So for $105 and about 35 minutes of work, I got four toilets tested which all came out OK, and "fixed" for the weak flush issue, and a little bit of plumbing 101!

Service man did a search for sewer drain exit from house and determined that it was covered by shower or drywall. He pulled toilet and used both small and large snake. Turns in the drain made it impossible for the snakes to get out far enough to unblock the drain although a bit of root was pulled out. He reset the toilet. Unfortunately problem was no solved but not due to fault of provider. I believe the price was competitive. Plumbing services are expensive.

Showed up in time. Price seemed reasonable.

I called in the morning and they said that they could be at the house between 12-4. The receptionist was very good about discussing the issue that I was having. She called back about 40 minutes later to tell me that she had spoken with the plumber and that they believed I had correctly identified the problem and asked me for the model number of the existing tank so that they could bring the correct part for the job. I wasn't able to give them the information until a little afternoon but they checked and called me back to inform me that they had the part in stock and would bring it. Shane arrived at the house about 2:00 and did a very professional job removing the old tank and installing the new unit as well as a new pressure switch and supporting plumbing. I did not do comparison shopping on the cost of the repair, which seemed high, but it was worth it to have fast competent service. The price charged was what I was quoted on the phone so was not a surprise.

Sean from Mahon Plumbing did a great job diagnosing the problem and was very creative in fixing the pipe. It was in an almost impossible spot, but he had my water up and running within an hour. Great job Sean and thanks a lot Mahon Plumbing!

We purchased the faucet and they did the installation. All leaks repaired.

Mahon was the plumber contracted by Koch Homes for a house built in 2011. We have had our basement flood 3 times because of their ejector pump problems. They also did not connect the pipes correctly as the ejector pump runs at least 6 times a day when we don't even use the basement bathroom. All of our bathrooms are draining to the ejector pump instead of the septic tank. They tried to charge me $1200 for a $300 pump. I googled it right away to determine the markup they had. We have had nothing, but problems with the plumbing they did with Koch. Koch points the finger at Mahon and Mahon tells me to talk to the builder.

Had an appointment for November 14th from 12pm-4pm for the estimator to come to my home. They had my number and said they would call 30 - 60 minutes prior to arrival. The receptionist (who was very nice) also said they would call if running late. Well the estimator never showed up and never called to say he wouldn't show. I know things happen to cause you to miss appointments. I am very understanding. Had I received a call, I would have happily rescheduled. But with NO communication, you just lost a customer. I am not interested nor will I be interested in hiring you in the future.
