Charged by the hour even though had to leave and drive to the store twice. The time is all charged to the customer even the time spent bull craping. The work was good but left a mess in the bedroom and the bath tub that I had to clean up.

It went really well. We noticed a slow leak coming into the basement from where the water line comes into the house. We had a local plumber come out and evaluate the leak and he determined it was a cracked or broken 30 year old plastic water line between my house and the water main for the neighborhood, which means it's my problem, not the county's. Since this was going to be an expensive job, I used Angie's List to find another plumber for a second quote. That plumber was Mahon and their quote, with the Angie's list coupon, was about the same price as the local plumber, but they also included in that price bringing the area the water pipe enters my house up to code and adding an overflow tank to the hot water heater to bring it up to code. Plus, they arranged for the county inspector to inspect the work when done. They did use PE line instead of copper (the local plumber would have used copper) but I looked at various plumbing sites on the Internet and it looks like PE pipe is a valid choice and easier to install. Mahon Inc. is very responsive. They had a guy out to my house within a couple of hours to look around and give me a quote. He was able to give me a quote on the spot, and once I agreed, they arranged to be at my house 8am the next day. They showed up with 5 guys, two trucks and a backhoe. While waiting for Miss Utility, they gave me good suggestions like filling a pitcher of water for drinking and filling the bathtub with water to replace the water in the toilet after flushing - this was very useful advice! They also did the inside plumbing while waiting for Miss Utility. Everything went well - they had to dig two holes, one where my water line comes off the main feed and one on the outside of the house where the water line enters the house. There is a garden next to the house, so they moved the ground containing the tulip bulbs to the side so it could be returned later; they tried very hard not to damage the plants. The water was back on around 1pm and they left by 3pm. They would have completed the job earlier except they had to wait for the inspector before filling the holes and moving the plants back into the garden. Once the hole by the water main was filled they put down soil and seed and hay. They were able to pull the old line out with no problems, but they had a torpedo or missile that they could have used to run the new line if the old line couldn't be pulled. They did not need to do that, but it was good that they were prepared, and it would have not effected the price if they had used it. They were easy to work with, knew what they were doing, and very professional.

The Mahon Plumbing team was great! They were on time and did a fabulous job! The Mahon representative "Chris" was very professional, informative and honest. The workers did a good job cleaning up by replacing the grass and they even put mulch down. To top it off they had a $300 coupon here on Angie's list that really help a lot!!

Mahon was a great choice for this job. The house drains join into a cast iron sewer pipe in our basement, and an exposed section about 2' long was so rusted out I discovered the problem when I accidentally pushed open a hole with my finger while scratching at the peeling paint. The plumbers cut out the pipe and junctions and replaced the whole fitting with PVC, including a new clean-out cap that was easier to access. The time between initial visit and the job was less than a week (fortunately I was able to install a temporary collar that covered the hole and kept our house going in the interim) and cost about what you'd expect for that type of job. They were very conscientious about the repair, including going a bit above the estimated work to ensure the problem was completely covered and no new rusting issues would occur.

Not much to say - came quickly when called and fixed the leak.

Mary Ann, who initially took the call, was friendly and as promised, the plumber (Tim) called shortly after to get our address. He headed right over and promptly took care of our problem. We've never had to use a plumber before, let alone an emergency plumber. Tim was awesome--professional, courteous and friendly. He cleaned everything up behind him. No wonder Mahon's has such a high rating here on Angie's List--they really deserve it! Was a little pricier than we hoped for but then again, we have no real frame of reference for how much it should have cost. Mahon will definitely be our go-to plumbers!

I contacted Mahon Plumbing when I saw their ad in Angie's List for 10% off to install a new electric water heater. I spoke with Anne Marie and she arranged everything. Sean was assigned to this tedious task. New laws for water heaters meant that he had to add an expansion tank. This required adding and rerouting some connectors. Sean installed the expansion tank and new water heater and it looked great. Oh No! When he turned the electric and water back on to test it, he saw water seeping from the top of the tank. Turned out the water heater was defective. I felt so bad for him (I live on the 2nd floor). Sean had to drain and remove the water heater again and order a new one. Mahon delivered a new water heater within 30 minutes and Sean installed it. This new water heater worked great. Throughout the whole process, Sean was courteous and professional. I enjoyed his visit and I am enjoying my brand new water heater. I would highly recommend Mahon Plumbing

I told you I would hire them again. I called Anne Marie to schedule an appointment to install a new garbage disposal. The one I have is 15 years old and sounds like a Mack truck. Sean answered the call again. He installed the new garbage disposal and tested it thoroughly. It it much quieter than the old one and works faster. Mahon Plumbing is the best !

The sink in one of my bathrooms hasn't been usable for almost two years. I am in the process of fixing up my place to sell so I thought I would finally have it replaced along with a new one for the master bathroom. Since Mahon Plumbing did such a fantastic job installing my new water heater, I decided to use them again. While Sean was here on 10/21/2015 to replace the water heater, I asked him about the faucets since I wasn't sure what kind of faucet I needed. He told me I needed a three hole faucet (which shocked me because I thought the current one was one hole). I looked at the website where Mahon orders their parts and found two faucets that I really liked. I called Anne Marie again and asked her to order them for me and make an appointment to have them installed. I also needed to have the flapper in the toilet tank replaced because I had to jingle the handle all the time. Mike arrived for this appointment. He did a great job installing the new faucets and toilet flapper. I am really pleased with the way they look and I no longer have to jingle the handle ! Again, I recommend Mahon Plumbing

I had been dreading having our line replaced, as I knew it would involve removing our wooden fence and disturbing our brick patio so as to facilitate the digging of a deep trench in our backyard. I got several estimates from different companies and, while Mahon Plumbing did quote us a slightly lower number than their competitors, I chose them primarily because I felt they would do the best job. They did not disappoint. Greg and his team arrived promptly at 8 am and got immediately to work. Although I had been told the job could take up to two days, including clean-up time, the team worked nonstop and were finished, clean-up and all, by around 3:00 pm. I was impressed by the level of care involved: in addition to getting my wooden fence back up better than it had been before (they replaced a warped board and installed new hinges on the gate), they replanted all my displaced perennials, added fresh mulch to the disturbed flower beds, and hosed down the area thoroughly. I strongly recommend them for this particularly onerous repair and will use them again in the future for other plumbing issues. Not to mention, AnnMarie in the office is reliably pleasant, friendly, and efficient. There were no surprises in the final invoice.

Everything went well. The technician was great. He replaced and repaired as needed. My only issue was that the check that I gave the company wasn't cashed for over a month.

They came out the next day and were right on time. The young gentleman who came wiped his feet upon entering, listened to my problem, and went right to work. The solution to the problem turned out to be silly - the valve wasn't open all the way - but he didn't chide us for that. Instead since it was a simple fix, he offered to look at any other issues we currently had and checked out upstairs toilet and made a recommendation and gave us an estimate. He also recaulked both toilets and cleaned everything up before leaving.

The scheduling was not very precise, but he arrived and completed work within the four hour window.

Mahon plumbing is awesome, Mr Mahon himself comes out to the job site. He is very nice and friendly,! He is straight forward with information and let's you know the pricing up front. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

Went very well. Mike I was professional and clearly an expert in his trade. He is also very customer service oriented. Hope he continues his employment with Mahon for many more years! Great experience.

We had an emergency. As DIY'ers we inadvertantly, while installing a new bathroom vanity and re-connecting the water lines, put a drywall screw through the copper supply line. We called 3 Plumbing companies on Angie's List. Mahon was the only company who immediately called us back to say they could have someone there in 15 minutes. Twenty five minuts after we hung up, the Plumber had arrived and the leak was fully repaired.

Mahon Plumbing was very responsive and quickly came out to diagnose and correct our sewer back up caused by cable line being shot through our sewer cleanout which resulted in soil penetration into the sewer line creating a solid blockage. They provided pictures and walked us through the process for remediation step by step.

It went well, but it was the 2nd guy of theirs I had to have come out. The first guy misdiagnosed the problem.

I noticed a puddle near the boiler in the basement yesterday afternoon. The hot water pipe coming out from the boiler had a pinhole leak and was spraying a fine arc of water onto an overhead light fixture. I knew it was going to be difficult to find a plumber on a Saturday, and I was right. I called 5 companies and three called back within an hour. I have dealt with Alpha Plumbing in the past but they are not open on Saturday and did not call back after leaving 2 voicemails. Chesapeake Plumbing never called back. The company that called back first was Mahon Plumbing. They said they could be at my house within an hour. Mike showed up within the hour as promised and went right to work. He replaced the copper pipe section with a piece of CPVC and 2 sharkbite connections. After waiting for it to set up, we turned the water back on and all was dry and working just fine. Mike did a great job and we would not hesitate to use Mahon Plumbing in the future, especially for a plumbing emergency.

The appointment never happened. I was schedule for an appointment between 8-12. The previous day I as called and a voicemail was left asking me for confirmation. I had left specific instructions that I was not available by cell phone during the workday and yet they left a voicemail on my cell phone and never called my office. I retrieved the voicemail at 4:30 and confirmed the appointment through the answering service. The next morning I called at 8:30 to make sure they go my message. They said they cancelled the appointment because they had not heard back from me. This behavior is ridiculous on so many levels, I don't know where to start: Why did they call my cell phone during the hours of the day when they knew I would not be available? I confirm the previous day at 5pm. Why would you not wait until the morning of the appointment to see if your customer had confirmed thought the answering service? Isn't that the point of the answering service? I have used Mahon plumbing many times in the past. While the work of their technicians has been acceptable their office staff continues to disappoint. Furthermore if the owner of the company has this sort of attitude toward customer service I hate to think what would happen if I had a real problem.

Mahon is always prompt, efficient, and courteous. I have used them numerous times. This winter, a water pipe ruptured, because we could not locate a shut-off valve in a warm area. The technician found the valve, and insulated the repaired pipe completely, so we have no risk of a repeat disaster! They responded very quickly, despite having many similar calls to handle.

They cut something that they shouldn't have, but the service was alright.

Everything went well! Mahon is a very professional and competent organization.
