Not great - the owner of the business knows what he's doing, but HE didn't come out and do the work. Two very young kids came out and they didn't know what they were doing! The A/C unit is in our basement, and it's supposed to drain any excess water. It doesn't! When the A/C is on, it smells of mold and mildew! YUCK. We've tried drying up the water-catch-pan, but it was install incorrectly. The duct work for the ERV - looks like an octopus going in every direction. I know that duct sealing tape is supposed to be put on every joint, but it wasn't. When the ERV is running and drawing air from outside - it feels like a wind tunnel blowing at each and every joint and turn in the duct work because it isn't sealed. Just a shoddy job.

On the morning of 4/7/14, after first checking Angie's list, I opened the yellow pages and called 5 HVAC contractors in order to set up appointments for them to come out to our home to provide free estimates for replacing our old and unreliable furnace. Surprisingly, 4 of the 5 came out that very day, and the other made an appointment for 2 days later. After researching the various furnaces online, and checking with the state of Maryland for HVAC license verification(one of the contractors did not hold the Master level license which qualifies one to replace versus only repair a furnace system), I settled on asking Wayne("Junior")Couter of Service Unlimited, Inc. to do the work. I based my decision on Junior's knowledge, experience, familiarity with the York furnace line, comparable cost, his personable patience and willingness to answer all of my questions, and his high level of motivation to provide us with his services. For example, he came out to our home on 2 separate occasions on the very first day that we contacted his company. Four days later, Junior came out with his crew, promptly as scheduled, to review what needed to be done before soon thereafter leaving them to complete the installation. Everything was done by the end of the day. The crew protected our floors with mats, worked steadily, answered my questions, and cleaned up appropriately. Junior went the "extra distance" by installing an extra cold-air return(to increase efficiency)and a digital thermostat to replace the old one. He also provided an enhanced labor warrenty that goes considerably beyond that of the manufacturer at no additional cost. Finally, he came out once the work was done to inspect the quality of the installation. The furnace has worked GREAT, heating high-ceiling living areas quickly and comfortably that had previously stayed uncomfortably cool. We are very happy with the resulting warmth. The entire process surpassed all of our expectations, and we are very satisfied with the product and the service.

The owner himself came to my home on three different ocassions to check out the layout and brought another worker to check out the best possible way to get the system to cool three floors, not take up a lot of space when running duct work or lose much space in the attic crawl spaces we use for storage. We are very pleased with how thorough and efficient they were. Cleaned up after themselves through out the whole process and cover furniture and carpet as they worked in each room. They were very careful regarding our pets.

The ductwork was of good quality and installation. Installation required slight shift of small water lines. I had to run to get them in driveway before they left to reinstall support brackets for water lines. Workmen did not bring all materials they needed and had to go to local big box to get additional materials. Promised to close hole in floor from removed flexible duct, but failed to do that part of job.
