I can't say enough good things about Fox Creek Builders. From start to finish, they were professional, detail-oriented, and responsive. They answered all my questions (even ones I didn't know enough to ask), showed up when promised, cleaned up meticulously every day, and everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. They were genuinely interested in providing me with the best experience possible. I had the siding on the house replaced with vinyl, and a new storm door put on the front. Everything is top quality, and the pride in workmanship shows in every detail. I am thrilled with how my house looks, and I would hire Fox Creek again in a minute. I strongly recommend them.

Max went the extra mile to make sure everything was done correctly. He treats you like a family member & the price we felt was very good. He knows his stuff about homes for sure. He picked a sidding that we thought looked amazing. We would highly recomend Fox Creek to any one. Our neighbor thought our home turned out so beautiful that they also had him come out. Max, a toast of the finest to you, Thank-you
Description of Work: Siding that Max chose for us and now we have the best looking home in the neighborhood. He also added extra touches to our garage and front door. What a wonderful change.

The customer service before the installation was outstanding - very attentive to detail, product knowledge was exceptional, and no high pressure sales. Max went out of his way to bring full size samples of the siding to ensure that we were pleased with the quality and colors. We felt like we were provide the best price initially - no back and forth negotiations were needed. During and after the installation, the customer service and responsiveness remained outstanding. The crew were professional, pleasant and did an excellent job. The few corrections that were needed were handled immediately and professionally. We are complete satisfied with our purchase and would definitely do business with Fox Creek again and recommend them to others.

Although we contracted and made an initial payment (1/3) on February 27, by mutual agreement the work began on 13 April 2015 to allow the work-site to dry out from the winter weather. The contractor made incredible progress in the first two weeks demolishing the old deck & garage porch, pouring footers, raising the frame & putting on the roof. The first crew was very hard working, here early in the morning, & leaving late in the afternoon (after cleaning up the area each day). When rain was in the forecast, the crew would ask if they could make up the day on Saturday, which they did. Everything we saw in the first 2 weeks was consistent with our previous great experience with Fox Creek 2 years earlier when they replaced all our siding, windows & doors. The only problem at that point was that a plain black roof (25 yr) was put on instead of the architectural roof (lifetime warranty) we asked for. The contractor acknowledged the error and offered to replace the roof at no additional cost. We had originally only contracted for 2 skylights so we asked if he'd install 2 more at no cost versus replacing the roof and he agreed. We were told that everything was on schedule to complete the rest of the job in 2 weeks. We made the second (of 3) payment on April 29 which was when the excavation work below the porch/deck was supposed to begin. No one showed up to start this work for several days and when they did (it was a different crew from the first), they typically showed up around mid-morning and were gone by mid-afternoon. We had beautiful weather during this period in which very little work got done. The contractor claimed they were having trouble getting the supplier to deliver sand and crushed rock. Since we're located in St. Mary's County which is a bit of a distance from the contractor's home base in Crownsville near Annapolis, they decided to use "local" suppliers & subcontractors (electricians) rather than those they normally use. We found out later that the sand & gravel supplier was located in Brandywine about 40 miles from here (there are plenty of suppliers right here in the county). When the sand & gravel finally showed up at 10:00 am one morning about the same time the crew arrived, the crew directed them to the spot they wanted it dumped and then everyone left shortly after that without doing anything. We knew by then that the job wasn't going to be completed anywhere near the 3 & 1/2 week total time advertised. The predictable springtime heavy rains started and we were delayed even more. The week of May 11 was the first week we could see some progress each day. The end product was beautiful. A paver retaining wall was put in all around the perimeter below the deck/porch and in between the concrete slab under the porch and the pavered patio area below the deck. We couldn't understand why the remaining work on the porch above couldn't go on while the below work was going on. Wiring had to be put in, and also all the finish work (soffets, gutters, trim work, ceiling made of soffet rolls - looks very nice). Most of the holdup turned out to be waiting for the "local" electrician to show up. The electrician (Goudie) wasn't really all that local but was from Waldorf 35 miles up the road. Our contractor had to threaten, cajole and/or beg Goudie to show up and install wiring so that the finishing work could be done on the porch. We begged our contractor to get another licensed electrician (there are plenty of good ones right here in the county that we've done business with). Anyway, once the electrician showed up we had to get them back several more times because they'd forget to do something we'd asked for or they didn't have a part and we'd end up in the same waiting game. They did end up getting shamed into sending an electrician on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend to put in 2 ceiling outlets they''d forgotten to put in, but we still didn't have any fans or lights to enjoy that weekend, by which time our contractor assured we'd be enjoying the porch. You don't EVER want to do business with Goudie Electrical. To make a long story short, after a lot of nagging to get a lot of loose ends tied up, the work was finally finished and inspected the Thursday (the day) before this past 4th of July weekend. The porch & deck are absolutely beautiful (we'll attach pictures if we can figure out how to do it - they will speak for themselves). We got some extras that we asked for like 7" wide Azek boards along the tops of the vinyl railings inside the porch to serve as a counter top for setting drinks or small plates of food or snacks, which we've had a lot of nice compliments about. They're the perfect height for pulling a barstool up to. One of the things we didn't get that we expected was a decent landing area at the bottom of our deck stairs. The crew threw grass seed and straw there. When we asked about getting some sort of solid landing, they shoveled out the area and threw some leftover crushed rock on it and tamped it down. When we asked if they were going to finish it (we told them they could use some of the many wall pavers that were left over) they said the wall pavers would require digging too deep. We offered to pick up (and did) some square flat stepping stones from Lowe's which we left for them. One of the younger fellas who was there one day to meet with the inspector and had no tools just laid the stones down, stomped them down with his feet and let it go at that. The area was not level and a downpour that evening directed a steady flow of water from the stones across our concrete slab. We didn't bother asking again, just tore it up last weekend, leveled and tamped it down properly and reinstalled the stepping stones ourselves. Our sense through this whole experience was that there was nobody in charge. Besides the first crew that started the project and came later on one day to install all the soffets and gutters, it appeared to be young fellas without any on-site direction or supervision. They did a lot of good work but there was a lot of unfinished work that we had to call our contractor up to get fixed. If we lived closer to Annapolis or the DC metro area, this would probably have been a much better experience. They do good work at a fair price and the owners are very honest people and have the best of intentions. But they appear to be ill-equipped to do business in St. Mary's, southern Charles or Calvert counties or other more distant locations. I did mention to the owner that if he wanted to do more business here he needed to do more to establish relationships with truly local suppliers and subcontractors. Communications also need to be improved all around - with the crews, between the partners, with suppliers, subs and us, the customers. We had the sense that the crews didn't really enjoy coming here and that we were kind of at the bottom of Fox Creek's list of priorities due to our distance from their home base. As much as we love the final product and will enjoy it and show it off for a lifetime, we couldn't go through the aggravation again. We would encourage folks from the Annapolis and metro DC areas who are considering a project like this (or folks who aren't in any kind of a hurry to get a project like this completed in a reasonable amount of time) to give Fox Creek serious consideration.
Description of Work: We contracted with Fox Creek to replace our old 12'x 17' lumber treated wood deck with a 35' x 18' composite deck of which 22' x 18' is screened in and covered. The 1-story high space below the screened-in portion of the deck was finished with a cement slab floor (giving about a 6' height), while the space below the open deck space was finished with pavers. All supports and posts were wrapped in white Azek composite. The screened in porch has 4 skylights in the roof, and was equipped with 2 fans and wired for multiple electrical outlets. The project included replacement of a small lumber treated wood porch off the garage with a composite porch (matching the screened in porch /deck combination) of the same size as the original porch, replacement of an old walkout basement sliding glass door with a Provia door, and parging of the concrete front door steps/stoop.

I verified with Angie’s list and found that they were reviewed A 18 times. The owner came and personally talked to me and he gave me an estimate. I got 6 estimates earlier and his was the lowest price. They were very responsive, showed up on time and the product itself is good. One of its lock broke down and they are coming over to fix it. The owner himself came over to look at the work when it was being done. I don't have anything bad to say. He is a good guy.

The project went great. Max and his guys do a great job. I had pretty much lost confidence in home improvement contractors until I met Max and Fox Creek Builders. He does what he says and his installers do what they say and do it with quality. Fox Creek has redone the entire outside of my house. He did windows and the siding last year and then they just did my roof and like before I am extremely satisfied with the quality of work.

I am so happy that I decided to go with Fox Creek Builders to install my window and 2 sliding glass doors. From order to install the process was excellent + only took about 3 weeks. Amazing since it took another vendor a month to tell me they could not fill the order I previously requested. Max, the owner, came out with Fred to measure and discuss my request. When Fred installed the custom doors + window they fit better than the original doors they replaced---fit like a glove. Fred was extremely pleasant, neat + a precision installer. They removed all the old debris, vacuumed all the rooms, deck + cleaned all the windows after install. I did not even have to remove my blinds during the process + they were particular about routing my outside cable wire. The doors are very high quality argon + insulated glass. My husband + I just love how smoothly both the doors + screens move along with the other bells+ whistles. Even my dog loves the doors + the crew. Max came out and inspected the job + again explained the features so we did not miss anything. We couldn't be more pleased with this purchase--well worth the money + I just wish I had done this sooner. Thanks to the Fox Creek Builders--Great team and Great work.

Max did an absolutely amazing job! I can't say enough good things about my experience with Fox Creek Builders. Once the job was done there were a few details that my wife and I were unsure of. Max really bent over backwards to make us happy. It's obvious that he really cares about his customers' satisfaction. All of the details were addressed and more. The new siding looks beautiful and very professional. We'll definitely be repeat customers in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced siding and sheathing that was damaged due to prolonged exposure to water. Installed raindrop grooved house-wrap membrane and taped all seams and edges. Counter-flashed and installed drip edge including drip edge above the window. Installed new T-111 board as well as flashed, PVC engineered boards where the siding meets the deck.

Maxim Naftchi (owner of Fox Creek) came to our home as scheduled to have a look at what we wanted done. He arrived at around 5 pm and stayed until close to 11 pm. His routine includes taking rough measurements, drawing detailed sketches of the house along with pictures, measurements and other notes, and presenting the potential customer with actual samples of siding and windows (miniature scaled) and finding out our likes, dislikes and cost budget limits. By the time he left, we had a final written estimate and a very detailed preliminary contract. He was very low pressure, paid attention to our likes/dislikes and made great recommendations. There was a couple of weeks delay in getting the job started while the products we ordered were being shipped, but Maxim's crew went to work as soon as all of the materials were staged on our property. We had been under the impression that there would be several different crews working on different tasks, but all of the work was completed over about 3 weeks (it rained a few times during this period) by just two carpenters. The only exception to this was a separate crew of around 5 or 6, who put on the gutters & downspouts (in probably an hour) and returned the next day to install gutter covers which they'd forgotten the day before (for all of about 20 minutes). Freddy and Harold (the primary crew of two carpenters) took longer than we expected (since we were expecting a larger crew) but much shorter than what one would expect for only two workers, All of the trim work was custom bent and cut meticulously on site, The first day they were here they replaced every one of our 17 windows and the front door & sidelights, and nearly all sealed. Because the siding work had to be delayed every time they reached a window, light fixture or outlet for which trimwork was to be bent, cut and installed, it was a little painful having to look at exposed Raindrop (tyvec) on the house for so long, but the finished product was every bit worth the wait. The exterior of our home was completely transformed and we're 100% satisfied with the transformation. We feel that the total cost was reasonable for the job performed. We'll try and attach a "before and after" picture to this review once we figure out how to do it.
Description of Work: Removed existing siding and wrapped entire 2-story 48x28 colonial style home and a 26x28 attached garage with Raindrop channeled breathable housewrap membrane Replaced all siding with Alside Prodigy 7" insulated siding. Replaced all 17 windows with new Alside Excalibur double-paned argon filled windows. Replaced shutters on all front windows. Replaced front door & sidelights with new Provia door & sidelights & storm door. Replaced French doors leading to rear deck with a paned Provia sliding glass door. Put different (from siding color) but well-coordinated color trim around all doors & windows, around garage door and walkout basement sliding glass door. Trim was custom cut from 6-8 performance coil stock. Removed all soffits, gutters and downspouts with double width replacements colored nearly identical to the trim color,

We could not be happier! From the first meeting with Maxim to our final walk around it was evident that his company was the one to go with. His crew was filled with very talented craftsmen and men that took pride in their jobs. They all worked with one goal in mind and that was to have a satisfied customer that loved the finished product. The roofing crew was at our home for 2 days in miserably hot weather removing the old roof and installing a beautiful new dimensional shingle. When they left you could not even tell they had been there, all the debris and left overs were gone and the finished result was fantastic. We had made the correct color choice and the job was first class! Next came the siding, trim and gutters. We had decided to have the existing cedar removed and start from scratch. The lead on the siding crew, Choung, is very talented! It was like an artist at work watching him "mold" and "crimp" the trim, giving our home a custom look. Our home had numerous edges and small detail areas that were definitely a challenge for the crew and they rose to the task. Before the crew left they had hung our new light fixtures, new storm door and shutters! We had a new house! The hardest process was picking out the color for the siding and the roof. Both we knew would be permanent so we had to be sure. Maxim was never one of those "pushy" salesmen and was very patient while we figured out the color selections. He was a delight to work with and we are very confident in recommending his company to anyone that is considering this type of work at their home. Our neighbors are still stopping by to "check" out his work and compliment us on the job well done. This was a major expense for our family and one that we couldn't be more pleased with.

It just went great. They were delayed getting to us because of a previous job but once they got here they stayed until it was done. It was a tricky job as one side of our house is quite high with marginal footing for ladders. Handling those big, fragile concrete panels couldn't have been easy but they did a very nice job. The three men who did the work were very pleasant. I felt comfortable having them come in and out of the house and I have already recommended Fox Creek to another customer. After a few days Maxim of Fox Creek called back to be sure we hadn't noticed any problems once we had had time to really look the job over. Good follow up.

We are exceedingly well pleased with their work.
Description of Work: We have used Fox Creek Builders on three different jobs. Triple glazed windows and Polarguard siding was the first installation. They did beautiful work. We now pay PEPCO $248.00 a month to heat our two story, four bedroom colonial home. We are always warm now. The house also looks good too. May, 2008 We had the pillars on the front porch replaced and screened in to increase our use of it. The only drawback is the number of driveby real estate salesmen who offer to list our home. We are not going to sell. Summer, 2010 We had a basement door replaced with a hurricane proof door by Fox Creek Builders. Summer 2011 Two sets of normal sliding doors had been broken before. I feel very secure with this new door. They also built close off doors to our crawl space and did excellent work.

Repairing a roof is a major project (at least in my book) and you want to feel comfortable with your roofer. Fox Creek did that for me. From the beginning of the process to the follow up at the end was perfect. BTW... I went with a 30yr Architectural Roof. by IKO and the color was Aged Redwood. Absolutely gorgeous. One thing I do have to add... my hobby is Amateur Radio and my roof is covered with antennas (Obstacles to the roofer). The crew did a great job working around my antennas and making sure nothing was disturbed. A little out of the norm but no problem for the crew. Very professional.
Description of Work: Fox Creek Builders was professional from the beginning to the end of the project. I contacted them from a referral who had work done at their home. Very responsive with my requests. I had an addition put on the house about 8 years ago that was beginning to leak and my old roof was 18yrs old (2nd layer) so I elected to replace the whole roof rather than a repair. The crew was fantastic a very friendly. I did have 2 areas that the wood had rotted and I was shown exactly what the problem was and how it was to be repaired. And NO whopping add'l charge. A fair and reasonable price was quoted. I do have to say I was informed in advance if rotten wood was found how it was to be repaired. So there were no surprises when it came up. Most of the work was completed in one day. I was really impressed with how well the clean up went. Never gave that part of the project a second thought but replacing a roof can be quite messy but again they did a fantastic job.

They did an excellent job and my heating bill is lowered. The windows reduced the sound from outside wonderfully! I have thoroughly enjoyed the porch. I have been able to sit and enjoy the outdoors without being attacked by bugs! They did a great job.
Description of Work: They put Polar Guard siding on my house and installed triple-pane windows throughout my home. Converted a porch to a screen porch.
