The crew was punctual and professional. Trees were removed quickly, and neatly.

Although their work schedule was crowded they got to my job earlier than expected. Work was completed in a professional and as requested. Thank you Ballard, for a job well done.

I contacted Ballard to have some trees removed. They responded quickly and showed up on time for the estimate. Their price was more than fair for the amount of work -- they removed two large poplar trees and two large holly trees, and ground out the stumps. The work was scheduled quickly. The workers showed up promptly and the work was done quickly and professionally. They cleaned up everything and I'm very happy with the final result. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant, helpful, and professional. I would definitely use them again, and recommend them strongly.

They arrived before time. Patiently assessed the job site. There was a possibile utility glitch but as I worked that out with Miss Utility they continued working. The proper amount of workmen and equipment was on site. The climber and assistant were awesome. A heavy branch never touched my house or windows (tree was very close to my house). All of the gentleman were professional and caring about their job. Paul Fox my awesome attentive salesperson came to the site to ensure all was running smoothly. Strongly considering hiring their landscaping division for the follow up work. Would hire again for sure.

Overall I was very happy with the service. Their foreman took the time to listen to what I wanted done, and then they did exactly what I had wanted. Also, they left my yard cleaner than when they started. My only concern was that I did not receive notification that they were coming and so I was lucky to be at home when they showed up.

The service from Ballard Enterprises was great. Arthur (the landscape professional) was on time , professional yet friendly. He was creative and clearly explained his vision for the area of concern. He did not try to "up sell" their services. He respected my wishes keeping the work moderate yet making a tremendous difference. I received 4 compliments on the area on the first day it was completed ! I will definitely use them again for landscaping services. I had "interviewed" four other landscapers before choosing Ballard Enterprises. i Have included a before and after shot of my front yard. It's much more impressive in person but you get the idea !

My original call was handled quickly and professionally. The estimator was personable and fair. The workers were prompt and efficient. Overall, it was a great experience.

It went well, I was satisfied with the service and professionalism of the staff. They also cleaned up the area very well, which I was concerned about.

Technician arrived promptly. Gave a good assessment of all trees health, including recommending those that needed no work. Determined cause of blight on front yard tree and injected it with a solution. Tree came back the next spring in full replacement growth for damaged branches. Tree trimming that was also done was professional and the red maple is thriving since it now gets more light and air.

I contacted five tree removal companies and all but one provided an estimate. Of all of the companies I believe that Paul Fox and Ballard Enterprises came across as the most organized and one of the most professional companies I dealt with. I contacted Ballard and made an appointment with Paul. He showed up right on time and we went to it. We went around the yard with my prepared list. We went from tree to tree discussing each with Paul making comments that were, from my point-of-view, extremely well informed. At the end, Paul took a few minutes and wrote up his estimate. It was extremely detailed and broken out by each tree. Along with the estimate he provided me with all of his information on insurance and supporting reviews of Ballard customers. I was extremely impressed. I know from my own research both on Angie's List and the Crofton Neighborhood blog, that Ballard is highly respected and used a lot. The only difficulty was that Ballard's estimate for the job was considerably higher than any of the other three companies. If it had only been a couple of hundred dollars higher, Ballard would definitely been in the running, but the estimate was way beyond that. I would recommend at least asking Ballard for an estimate. They are a well respected company and get good reviews from those who use them.

THE TWO MAN TEAM ARRIVED ON TIME 8/2/17 THE DAY OF THE JOB AND FOUND OUT MISS UTILITY HAD NOT MARKED THE GROUND. THEY REMOVED THE TREES DOWN TO THE STUMPS. IT WAS ABOUT A 2 1/2 HOUR JOB. MS. U MARKED THE GROUND 2 DAYS LATER (FRIDAY). ON SUNDAY ONE GUY (NELSON) CAME AND FINISHED THE JOB. I DIDN'T GET A CALL THAT THEY WERE COMING AND LUCKILY I WAS HOME. HE TOLD ME ONE TREE WAS PLANTED OVER A GAS LINE SO HE COULD ONLY GRIND THE STUMP 2 INCHS BELOW GROUND. I WAS OKAY WITH THAT AS LONG AS IT DIDN'T SHOW. HE GAVE ME POINTERS ON ENSURING THE TREES SURVIVED, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE WORST SOIL (MY WORDS). RIGHT NOW MY LAWN IS NOT LOOKING THE BEST, WITH THE STRAW AND SMASHED GRASS. BUT IT'S TEMPORARY. NELSON WAS PROFESSIONAL AND CLEANED UP THE YARD AND IT ONLY TOOK HIM ABOUT 2 HOURS. BALLARD ENTERPRISES WILL BE MYGO TO FOR ANY TREE SERVICE.

This is an "excellent" tree service. Would highly recommend them. Their crews were very professional and well trained. Price was reasonable. On time, efficient with good clean up.

Everything was done well. The tree that was removed was a Bradford pear that had a split trunk and was resting on our neighbor's roof. The men plucked it off the roof with absolutely no damage to our neighbor's house or yard. While they were working, we discovered another tree that was dead at the top, and they cut out the dead part of the trunk. Cleanup was well done.

I didn't shop around so I don't know if I got the best price, but they did a good job and I'm a satisfied customer.

Well...I did not realize how little trimming would take place based on the measurements given. Thus, I would have requested a larger cutting of the tree. However, this is not the vendor's fault, but my own inexperience and concern of the final price.

Ballard's crew did a wonderful job and left the yard and premises in excellent condition. The crew was most professional and completed the job on schedule and in a timely way. I would highly recommend Ballard to anyone needing tree service. J. Luck

The team that arrived to do the work was very professional and did a great job. The Cherry tree over my pond was trimmed back and looked great. I have a lot of trees in my yard and would definitely use them again.

Ballard Enterprises did an amazing job! Prior to the work beginning, the landscape architect came to our house and spent time talking with us about what we wanted and offered ideas and suggestions of his own. He spent time outside in our backyard--in pouring rain--getting a feel for the space, understanding our vision, and taking measurements. The resulting quote and landscape diagram were detail-oriented, which we love. The half-circle end of the patio was our idea, and when we suggested it, he saw the vision for it immediately and incorporated it enthusiastically (i.e., there were zero issues with "your ideas" vs "our ideas"). I cannot say enough about how hard-working, incredibly skilled, and friendly the landscapers/stonemasons who did our work were. The stone wall in particular is a work of art. They were an incredible team. They started early in the mornings and they worked late into the evenings; all in one of the hottest stretches we had that summer. The landscape architect and owner stopped by periodically to perform quality checks. Our backyard--which was formerly a drab, empty space--is now simply beautiful. The work Ballard performed for us included: - installing a large paver patio; - installing a fire pit; - building a brand-new, stone retaining wall; - installing completely new flower beds (outlining, tilling, composting, planting, mulching); - installing underground drainage with three new pop-up drains; - installing a rain barrel; - propping up existing heat/AC units that were tipping over due to soil erosion, and redirecting water flow away from them; - tearing out the old concrete patio. We love our new backyard. It is gorgeous! We continue to use Ballard Enterprises to weed and lay mulch each spring. And we buy all of our annual potted flowers at their nursery.

It went very well. Though the crew was late arriving (normal, for traffic in this area!), they worked hard and well, and the architect-engineer (Arthur Balter) was here both at the beginning and near the end of the work to make certain that things were progressing well. The new brick patio is beautiful and well-constructed, and I am very pleased! I also needed my apple tree to be treated against bug infestation. Ballard injects rather than sprays, which I prefer.

GREAT! The truck pulled up, they jumped out and were good to go, there was no doubt about what I wished done, and the team was efficient and knowledgable.

Despite an Angie's List rep indicating otherwise, after we purchased the deal we learned from the company that we were not in their service area. As such, our rating reflects the lack of proper communication between Angie's list and the company, and not on any service provided by the company. We would not have even given a grade or answered the hire again question if it were not required by Angie's list for the review. To Angie's list credit, they did promptly refund our money when informed of the problem.
