Had to cancel this because I thought it would be someone coming to my home, not sending in my computer. They were very professional and put the money back into my account,

We've used cheaper than a geek before for some computer repairs, so we reached out to them when we had a problem with our website (I am a musician). It all started when I switched hosting providers. As it turned out, my files were not ported over correctly, and my site would not load! David from cheaper than a geek fixed the file issue and repaired our database, and had us back in business same day we called. I should have known to call them sooner. When we get around to having our site redesigned I know for sure these are the folks to call.

We used these folks before and liked them. This time my son's laptop suddenly powered down and refused to start back up. They quickly scooped up the laptop and started their "diagnostics" service. A few days later we received the dreaded news; the motherboard needed to be replaced. They were very up front that they would do the repair if we wanted, but that it would be a better decision to replace it. They care about the customer relationship, and I will always make them my first choice because of it.

My computer would not start one morning and I was getting a message that said there was a "fatal error". Not the kind of message you want to hear when you had not backed up any of the files or pictures that were on the machine. My rudimentary efforts to solve the problem; ie turning it off and trying again, failed. I looked on Angie's list and saw the great reviews for Cheaper Than a Geek so I called them. The woman who answered the phone told me that all the techs were busy but someone would call me back. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call within 30 minutes. The very nice man that I spoke to on the phone listened to my tale of woe, told me that if I brought them my machine (I lived outside their pick-up area, which I knew) by 4:00 pm, they might be able to look at it that day. He also said that their price to diagnose the problem was $89 and if there was a repair the $89 would apply to the cost of the repair. Within two days, they called and clearly explained my options. They were able to fix the problem, saving my data and gave me a recommendation for backing up my system so I wouldn't be in the exact situation again. I had my machine back the next day. After I picked up my machine, they called to make sure that everything was working as it should. Though it is a drag to have your computer crash, I feel better knowing that I can call this excellent company the next time I have a problem.

We found these "Cheaper Than A Geek" folks and called them up. The rep I spoke with (David) was very polite and did a good job calming me down. They promised to only charge a diagnostics fee if they could not recover data. And pickup/dropoff was free. We rolled the dice and I am glad we did. They kept us informed while they worked on it, and they came through. We had our files back in the blink of an eye on a cool looking metal flash drive. Our tech Chris was very nice and didn't mind answering our questions. Everyone there seemed to genuinely care about us situation and seemed to actually enjoy what they do (what a breathe of fresh air). While I hope we don't have computer problems again I definitely know we will call them if we do!

These folks responded quick, and came the same day. We are back in business, and the virus is gone. They also gave us some software to better protect us in the future. Thanks!

Dell and Cannon could not fix the issue but Cheaper Than A Geek did!

I'd used Cheaper Than a Geek services several times over the years with great results every time. The company not only provides service on site at a cost far less than other estimates, but they're available within a very short time & guarantee results. Additionally, features such as reliable virus protection were added at no cost. After the most recent repair was completed, I received a follow up call the next morning to let me know that somehow all the repairs had been remover (apparently be an unwitting family member). Cheaper Than a Geek repeated the repairs from their office at no additional charge. Superior service and convenience at minimal cost provided by friendly, highly competent professionals all make Cheaper Than a Geek my only choice.
