Cheaper Than A Geek

My contact person was Chris. He was so helpful and professional. I would definitely use his service again, and I will definitely be telling my friends about Cheaper than a Geek. Great, great, great!

This is the second time I've used Cheaper than a Geed. They were so terrific the first time with my office desktop, that I hired them to perform the same service on an employee's laptop. I will be using them at least 2 more times for similar computer tune-ups within the coming month. GREAT Angie's List provider, and I recommend them highly for business or personal computer service. A+++++

Everything went above and beyond my expectations. I had no problems. I'll use them again only if the price is lower. That was my only issue. But Chris took care of everything.

I spoke primarily with Chris. He was very pleasant, professional and patient. He did follow up with a call saying to contact him if I have any problems. This was very helpful as I had taken my computer to a local shop approximately (not on Angie's list) 2 months ago, and although the price was lower, they did not fix the problem. I would use this service (Cheaper Than A Geek) again and have already recommended them to others.

They came and picked up the computer, assessed it. They called me when it had been swept and then again to see when they could bring it back at my convenience. They were easy to work with. I would definitely do so again.

My computer was acting quirky and 'logey' - software was taking forever to load, and even shutting down was slower than slow. Shortly after I purchased this service package, I received an email from the owner, and we scheduled a window of time when the service would take place. The provider called precisely on time to discuss the computer issues I was having. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and asked very thoughtful questions - very much like an outstanding physician diagnosing a patient's health concern. The service I received was provided directly by the owner of the Cheaper Than A Geek Service (Chris). After our brief, but thorough, phone call, I signed off and he 'took over' my computer from his location using a program called Team Viewer. Within a short time, the issues were resolved and the computer is performing the same as the day it was purchased. This coming week, I intend to purchase 2 additional service packages for family members who are having issues with their laptops. I highly recommend Cheaper Than a Geek!

I have a custom built computer, provisionally built in LA. I tried to reload the OS (Win 7 Pro) and ran out of knowledge loading drivers for "on the motherboard devices" like LAN, sound etc. Chris loaded this drivers and connected me to my internet service. Most of the problems were "self inflicted". Ultimately, the problem was caused by a faulty keyboard entering bad passwords. Keyboards wear out. Won't know the actual cost until I get my next VISA bill.

My computer was running very slowly and i knew I had picked up some Malware somewhere.It was just before New Years day when I bought the packages from him and I had a feeling he would be busy, so I told him there was no rush since I had another computer I could use. We agreed on doing the job on Jan. 6th. I didn't hear back from him until that morning right at 10 am when he said he would call. I set my computer up so he could take control of it from Maryland where he lives. It took about 4 days to get it cleared up and he would not give up until it was cleaned. It was only supposed to tale 2 days. As of today, the machine is running just the way it is supposed to. Thank You, Chris. Would I use his services again? Hopefully I won't have to but if i do -- YES in a HEARTBEAT !

Everything went great! They did the work remotely so I didn't even have to go into the shop to get the work done.

It was a very difficult job and they spent a lot of time and effort on it to make it work.

Chris was amazing. I was considering purchasing a new computer as the one I had was sooooo sloooowwww, froze about 2-3 times a week and took forever to open programs. It would literally take 7-10 minutes to boot up. I really didn't want to lug the computer to Best Buy or anywhere else and leave it, so his service to speed up the computer remotely was perfect for me. Chris was also very personable and helpful. I would recommend his company's service to anyone, anytime. My computer now boots up in about one minute and the slow opening of programs and freezing has completely ended. Great service at a great price. Can't say enough about it.

Amazing! CTG was able to recover all of my data on a disk that I had damaged. Chris is the epitome of professional. He kept me apprised of the status of my work order. His customer service tied to his wealth of IT knowledge gave me the complete confidence that my data would remain confidential and secure. Their cost is very reasonable. I would highly recommend CTG for all types of IT support.

We've used this company several times over the years. They've always been quick to respond, thorough, patient and professional. Their service, expertise and recommendations for replacements/parts when necessary have saved us tons of money. We'd never use another company.

I had viruses which were cleaned off and anti-virus and security software installed. Great service, good communication and follow up. I would recommend them to anyone with computer problems

I cannot say enough about these folks- fast and professional. We had a virus infect our computer and hold our files hostage. They got out files back, killed off the virus', and have us software to help prevent this from happening again. I highly recommend them!

Chris called when he said he would, was very nice and once I gave him access to my computer he did every thing. The programs ran for 3 days I could see him moving the cursor. He called when the job was complete now it is like a new computer

few names. I chose Cheaper than a Geek. With new technology the computer can be worked on remotely . The tech. was very helpful and solved my problem in less than 1/2 hour. I could not get on the internet . The price seemed a little high but that is the way it goes to have your computer fixed. IT IS PAIN TO DO A REVIEW ON THIS WEB SITE.

They were excellent! If I have a problem I always call them and they are more than willing to help. They are very prompt and professional!.

Even though CTAG did not perform the above stated service in no way diminishes the service they provided me. Every email was not sent back with happy face emote saying "step away from the CPU" but instead with a very detailed instruction on the problem I was having. I think there were 6 or 8 emails in total that they responded within hours of me sending them. I look forward to using them in the future for other issues I have with other computers. Everyone send more reviews so I can convince my husband to JUST LET GO!! Thanks!

The process took a little longer than I expected, but I guess it was pretty typical. BTG were very responsive and helpful. Will use them again.

I thought I lost my photos and music forever! A virus got me, but these folks saved the day- thanks soooo much! Great response time and a good price. Now if only I could find a car mechanic likes these guys...

The computer is repaired but the new cord looks like it's been pieced together. For almost $400 I expected better presentation in the end. The providers were professional and responsive, customer service was great and the computer works now, I just would like for the cord to look better.

The nice folks at Cheaper than a Geek movedall of my data for me and showed me how to keep a backup copy. They are my go to company for any pc issues due to the fair pricing and fantastic customer service. I highly recommend them.

The provider sent me an email stating that I needed to ship the hard drive to their location in Maryland. I was not aware that I needed to ship the hard drive. I have chosen to seek a refund from Angie’s List.
