We had carpet installed in a rental property by Carpet Plus in May of 2010. In July 2012, our tenant moved out and we started to prep the townhouse for sale. Our realtor identified several small projects that needed to be done to get the property market ready. We hired a home improvement contractor and he subsequently recommended that we have the carpet stretched because it was all bunched up. As we discussed the need to have the carpet stretched, we spoke to our contractor about the fact that we'd had the carpet installed a little over 2 years ago. He basically stated that after 2 years, it shouldn't look like. My realtor recommended calling the company and asking them to fix the carpet free of charge. I called Ali the next day and I explained the situation. He stated that his warranty on installation only covered a year. I told him that our contractor inferred that it shouldn't be happening and it was likely a result of of poor installation. He immediately got defensive and asked me if our contractor was a carpet installer. I of course said that he was not. He said "That's the problem," and went on about how our contractor didn't know what he was talking about. He also inferred that our tenant was rough on the carpet and that was completely untrue. With the exception of the carpets being bunched up, it was in excellent condition. I could see he wasn't going to relent, so I ended the conversation. Two days later, I had a couple of carpet companies come to the property to give me an estimate on getting the carpet restretched. The first thing the carpet guy told me was that the carpets were in rough shape and they'd have to rip up the carpet and completely reinstall it - to the tune of $350. After talking about the specifics of the pricing, I asked his professional opinion of why the carpet was bunching up the way it was. He didn't hesitate to say that it was a poor installation job. Before locking in with that company, my husband and i decide to call Carpet Plus back and give them the update and allow them the opportunity to make it right. However, we were unsuccessful. He stuck to his guns about the warranty and didn't even offer to at least come out and look at it. In addition, he was rude and unprofessional. So, here I am writing this review and I'm going to be out $350. I caution all those who've had carpet installed...make sure you reevaluate it after about 11 months and if you see problems, call them before the warranty runs out. This company is a rip off!

He was very punctual and was generally easy to get hold of, calling back promptly if we left messages. We got several estimates and his was very nearly the best deal - a good carpet and laminate at a very good price - by a large margin. We were in fact about to give him the job when Luna made us an offer so good we couldn't say no. (Remarkably good. We wonder if they weren't taking a loss on it.) The only complaint we had with Al was that he didn't do a good job explaining the differences between the different types of carpet and laminate, asking us about our situation and what we needed, so we could make an informed decision. We were coming at this with no background at all on that this of thing, and while he was polite, at times his attitude seemed to be "figure out what you want, then see me." I'd recommend seeing this guy after you have a good idea of what you want but want to get the best price on it.
Description of Work: We had the owner (?) Al Sadri, come by to take a look at our townhouse and give us an estimate for carpet and laminate flooring, later we went to the store to look at various types of each. Ultimately went with another vendor.
