Description of Work: I purchased a new home built by Williamsburg Group LLC this past spring. This was the 5th new home we've purchased over the past 30 years. I signed the contract early in the building process. I was able to oversee the entire construction process. As a result we were able to select our flooring, granite, marble, tile, colors, cabinets and select upgrades. Williamsburg Group LLC provided such a large selection of material and color options that many visitors to my home have asked if I upgraded my selections. In those small cases when I wanted an upgrade Williamsburg Group LLC went out of their way to accommodate our want and needs. The on site Project Manager (Richard Cole) and their realtor (Connie Carter) provided the level of service and professionalism you don't encounter that often these days in the real estate industry. I've recommended Williamsburg Group LLC to everyone I know. The construction contract was large and uncomplicated yet flexible unlike most corporate builders. It’s so nice to go through the house and state that most of my selects are standard options with Williamsburg Group LLC. Their “standards” options are upgrades for most builders. On another subject, Williamsburg Group LLC does not have a financing arm of their organization. This was a major consideration when we were deciding to buy one of their homes, given the current real estate climate. One of their senior representatives contacted me to talk about their requirement that buyers use one of their 7 – 10 recommended financiers to get the $10,000 towards closing cost. The list included some major banks and some local banks. The list included some banks we’ve used for real estate financing in the past so we selected a previous bank we’ve done business with in the past. In addition, Williamsburg Group LLC did not give us any problems using our VA Certificate of Eligibility. Despite many corporate builders stating they are veteran friendly their financing arms are not. Everything turned out fine and we closed in May of this year. Don’t hesitate to visit their web site or one of their building home sites if you plan to buy in the near future. Buying from Williamsburg Group LLC was like buying from a small home town builder. Stay away from the major corporate builders. If you’re still deciding what builder to use, Google a corporate builder with the word “complaint” and you will be astonished by the number of sites devote to most corporate builders. Many home builder “complaint” sites concern post closing warranty support. In this regard Williamsburg Group LLC has created a new standard of excellence. I had access to the structure during the building process. 2 weeks before closing we had a pre-walk through plus on the day of the closing we had another walk through as usual. 90 days after closing we had another walk through the home and I’m set for another one at the 12 month point. The owners of Williamsburg Group LLC has been known to come back or have the sub-contractor come back and make repairs on items on a home they built well past the official warranty period. Post closing support and a real warranty are just as important as the quality of construction and Williamsburg Group LLC delivers on all.
