Even with a few days' delay due to power outage at the countertop supplier, our kitchen remodel started a day early and finished in two weeks flat! None of our friends could believe it when they saw how quickly it was going. Polo, Al, and their crews were fast and professional, and very responsive to any questions or concerns we had along the way. We're extremely happy with the results and would definitely use them again.

Calvin gave us a great us a great design. He offered us a broad range of materials and appliances. He made great suggestions. The installation was superb. Polo and his team did an outstanding job bringing drawing to life. Excellent workmanship. The plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall and tile installation were performed well. They finished the project a week early. We are very happy with our new bathroom. A great job for a great price!

VKB was very helpful in getting us started and deciding what style etc we wanted. Once the work began the workers spent 8-10 hours a day until the jobs were finished--very impressive. Jason was the project manager and helped us through any issues that came up as the project continued. He even solved a post-production problem by ensuring that they weren't done until we were happy with the entire project.

We used VKB to do our Master bath, as well as half of our 2 full baths. We worked with Junior, Gail, and Calvin on the design team. They made the process of picking finishes and items very easy. They came up with a great design and were very good with following through with the implementation. They would come to check on the work once a week.Junior and Gail were very prompt in answering any questions or doubts either via text or phone calls.Polo was our project manager. His team would arrive on time and work till 6 pm.They were very tidy and cleaned up after themselves.I would go over their work after they left every evening and any mistakes or snafus that were made were quickly rectified.Their customer service is impeccable, and they really aim to make the customer happy even after the project was completed and paid for.The estimated time frame was 4-6 weeks and the entire project was completed in 6 weeks.I would recommend VKB to anyone who wants their bathroom done and would use them again for any future remodeling projects.

VKB is currently doing a complete renovation of our kitchen and bath. I will update this review upon completion of the job. So far the overall experience has been excellent. I had a lot of trouble making decisions during the process (which color, which countertop, etc.,) and our designer, Sean, was very patient and helpful while I went back and forth trying to decide the small details. They were also good at helping us stay within our budget, with any upgrades being initiated by me, and not from any pressure sales tactics; for example, we were initially going to only replace half of the hardwood floor but I was so happy with the results I asked for them to replace the whole floor. Sean worked with me to incorporate the most important upgrades to the cabinetry (spice rack pullouts, lazy susan, double cutlery etc.,) while not blowing up my budget. There was one minor miscommunication with sink size (I thought I ordered a smaller sink than the one received) but the bigger sink turned out to be a much better design choice, as well as more functional. Lesson learned: sometimes you should just trust your designer; if you are unsure, make sure you communicate your concerns clearly! Junior really tuned in on my focus on functionality, even down to how the sink faucet felt in my hand while using it, and upgraded it to a model he knew I would like (on his dime). After the design process, the majority of our communication was through buildertrend emails and texting directly with the project manager. I found greater success communicating with Sean through email rather than by phone, but overall he was very responsive. The final proposal that we signed only partially broke down the cost for items, but the costs were verbally covered prior to signing, with Sean pulling up the actual websites they would be ordering the items from so I could see the costs. Any additional changes or upgrades that were added later, and the exact costs of those upgrades, were recorded on an updated contract that I had to digitally sign approval for. We went to 3 other companies for quotes and VKB gave us a very fair price along with a larger selection to choose from. We negotiated a bit to come to a final cost, but at no time were any high-pressure sales tactics used; if there were, I would have walked out immediately. I suspect they may have given a higher estimate at first knowing we would want to negotiate a better price, but I feel this is standard for any company. Ferhat was our project manager, and he was amazing. He responded to text very quickly, and made sure to visit the job site at every stage of construction. On more than one occasion he caught problems before they happened, and also helped us with design choices (I didn't know what color stain to use for the floor and the color he recommended was perfect). We had two types of tile we were using for our backsplash, and Ferhat noticed there would be an inconsistency in grout line width. He was concerned it would result in a look we weren't going to be happy with and he was right. We were able to change the choice to one that flowed better before the tile went up. The color of the tile in the showroom also looked different then when it was on our wall (not necessarily bad, just different); if we had gone with our original combo choice, it would have looked terrible. Disaster averted. Little things we hadn't asked for but were nice touches were added, such as dimmer features on lights at no additional cost. I felt like he cared as much about my kitchen as he would his own. Erci and his team took care of the actual demo and installation. I want Erci to work on my house for life. His attention to detail and doing the job right was fantastic, and he made sure the rest of the crew followed his lead. Again, the little things really mattered here. We have 2 kitties that we needed to keep out of the construction area, and Erci made sure to seal the area off very well to make sure they wouldn't get in. He even got down on his hands and knees to clean the floor by hand from the kitchen to front door so the kitties wouldn't find any small construction pieces to eat. There are only a few finer details to be finished in the kitchen, and the powder room hasn't been done yet, but I am very happy with how everything has been going so far.

VKB did an excellent job in all aspects of my kitchen remodeling project. Deniz helped us choose the cabinets, and designed a plan that improved the functionality of our kitchen. Perhat did a great job of managing the installation team, which completed the demolition, installation, and clean up in less than a week. We had a functioning kitchen within three days from the time work began. The team worked on Saturday too! We could not be happier with our kitchen and quality of work. We would definitely hire VKB again. Great job!

It went very well. Our design consultant, Deniz Senveli, was excellent, He spent several long sessions with us helping us design and choose products that we liked for our remodel project. The project was started on time and completed on time. Jason Freeman, our project manager, and the team working under him, did a great job. They were very attentive to detail and periodically checked with us to make sure we were happy with the job as it progressed. Lots of communication between Jason and my husband & me. Responsiveness was especially impressive. The work product is excellent.

We have never posted a negative review before on any website for any service, but morally, we felt obligated to let others know about our continuous negative experiences from beginning to end. This was the worst experience that we have ever faced working with any organization. Please note that any of the following experiences can occur to you if you use VKB because they did occur with us in 2017. Firstly, Joe (the VP of Sales Operations) told us that this project would take 4 weeks to take. It took 6 months and is still incomplete as they gave up on resolving our lighting/ electrical issue that was caused by their project team. They deceitfully attempted to mark up our counter tops costing $5500 more than what we should have paid. 1) For starters, the charming sales person that came to our house gave us a cost estimate that was 15k-20k less than what Joe (and the rest of the staff) quoted us when they got us in their Columbia showroom. We were forced to go back and forth with Joe to get the price down significantly, and it was as if we were haggling at car dealership. Right when my wife and I were present in the showroom, they played a "Can anybody guess what their price quote is going to be?" game. The 3 sales people were all guessing while my wife and I waiting anxiously to determine if in fact our price was going to that high. It wasn't that high, but again, we had to haggle our way down. We had already invested so much time in the showroom, and gave in to their pricing tactics. If you get an onsite quote from this company, please expect a significant markup once they close you on getting you in their office. It was extremely unprofessional, especially consideration a 50k+ quote was thrown at us. 2) Kitchen Design: We absolutely zero kitchen remodeling experience, we received very little support, knowledge, and guidance when designing, selecting materials, and services. For example, they just randomly placed the kitchen island without thinking abut angles and basic symmetry. Their design had the island "out in space," unaligned with the side counters. Our project manager had very little understanding, and we had to uncomfortably switch the placement of the island at the last second. If I wasn't able to take off work that day, the island would have been placed incorrectly. Very little experience overall. 3) Countertops: VKB tried to get sneaky and charge us $5500 more for the same exact square footage of natural stone counter top. VKB's preferred counter top fabricator is Classic Marble and Stone. VKB hinted that we should use Classic because they trust them more, their prices are fair, and they do quality work. We ended up getting a second quote from United Granite (Elkridge, MD), and their fabrication work and service were phenomenal- we highly recommend. We also had to quote against their flooring pricing. Very glad we did that as well. 4) Bathroom Countertop: We ended up attempting to order a bathroom countertop through Classic Marble and Stone. When the wrong counter top was shipped to our house, we complained that there were defects in the stone and we were not satisfied. Without coming out to our house and checking for himself, Joe and VKB kept saying that the defects were just a part of the stone. Well get this: we drove all the way back to Classic and the original countertop that we ordered was still in their warehouse! We spent a half day going over there and trying to resolve an issue. Instead of helping to solve this, VKB assumed (and blamed us) that we just hadn't notice the defect when ordering the marble counterop. 5) This 4 week project took 6 months, and still isn't complete. the wrong countertops were ordered and were "missing" slowing the project down by a month. Excuses such as "our truck broke down and we can't make it today" were delaying the project. There are too many examples to list here over the course of 6 months. 6) Quality of work: In the end the team completed good work, but it took way too long and had to be corrected many times. They did have to come back several times to fix uneven cabinets and several other imperfections. They were eager and willing to fix anything that you wanted, but for the price, these should have been done right the first time. For example, see the picture of the crown molding job that was a bit sloppy. Polo, Apollo, and others on the team are fantastic people, hard workers, but may have been continuously overworked with juggling too many projects simultaneously. Workers would sometimes turf our lawn with their trucks- sometimes 4-5 feet off the driveway. 7) Lighting/ electrical issue: There was about 15 hours of total labor spent trying to resolve a lighting issue. It was a trial and error process by the project management team- nobody had any clue about how to resolve. I requested a licensed electrician for several weeks with no reply. Finally, a licensed electrician came out, but wasn't able to solve the buzzing issue because the original lights, which were synced in with our dimmers, were taken out. I continuously had to leave my work to deal with this issue. The team, while attempting to resolve a light flickering issue, took out our original led light bulbs(without our permission) in our kitchen and were not replaced. As such, a loud buzzing noise occurred when dimming the lights. It took Joe 3-4 weeks to respond after 4 attempts to get it resolved. Joe refused to replace the 65 dollars of light bulbs that VKB took our of kitchen that was the cause of this whole problem. His logic was that they had already spent a lot of time and money attempting to fix it (by unnecessarily switching dimmers out and the many hours of trial and error above).

We very much appreciate all reviews good or bad. As a company we can't get better or find ways to improve our process without our client's feedback. I am in total shock with this review. We don't deserve it at all but I am sure there are a couple of things we can still learn from it. Mr. Client. This is not your first bad review about any company as you claim. I know all about your past experience with the Tileshop and how you wanted free products and services from them as well. Is this really about a light bulb that you could have easily purchased online. Do you honestly not think about $ 1500 of free electrical services that we have provided to resolve the buzzing issue due to a dimmer that's not compatible with your lights that was pre-existing in your home. Your Agreement with us doesn't have any electrical work other than to switch out the trim kit on your recess light. Now that you added a dimmer that's not compatible with your bulbs, we are somehow to blame for this. Interesting. You were given a cost of products and services you selected. You had the option to purchase or not purchase. We didn't ask you to counter offer. You kept insisting on a lower price and given us honestly a hard time at the showroom but we stayed open for you until 9PM and provided many design options for your kitchen and island. Is that not good service to be available to you that late when we normally close at 6PM, Did you not get an outstanding service on your design services from our designer? I was there, The support was tremendous but I am sorry that you still felt that more could have been done. I am sorry that our project manager and Joe has consistently took your calls past 9pm and you still felt we didn't provide good service. I am sorry that the counter top you have selected yourself from Classic and ultimately decided on but after it was installed, It just wasn't perfect for you due to natural characteristics within the stone. There is no company out there that I know of that would not have taken it out and installed it the 2nd time with a different top without charging you. Yet, We felt short of exceptional service. I am sorry. You ordered your counter tops from a different company, You entered into a contract directly with them and you paid them for this service, Yet it's us to blame for ordering the wrong color counter top and for taking too long. I am speechless but again I am sorry if we also somehow felt short here. I am sorry for not doing enough for you, I am sorry that we felt short of your expectations and I am sorry that we have to take and accept this review that we don't deserve. Best wished to you and your family and happy new year.

We spent a long time interviewing contractors to handle our kitchen remodel, and finally settled on VKB - and we are very, very happy that we did! Their showroom is great, and they really were "one-stop shopping." It was so convenient to be able to go to one location to design our new kitchen and choose finishes, cabinets, counters, knobs, tile. Our project manager, Ferhat, and his crew chief, Jose, were extremely professional and courteous. As with any construction project, there were a few hiccups, but the most important part (and in our opinion, what makes VKB great) is that Ferhat and his crew always, ALWAYS, said "We will fix it / solve that problem / make it happen" - and they did. When it came to the stair railing, I wasn't sure how to describe what I wanted, so I simply texted a picture of what I wanted to our project manager, and he recreated it perfectly. Talk about easy!! The crew was conscientious of our home, our pets, and our family, and we never worried about leaving them there alone. It was fun to come home at the end of the day and see the progress. Ferhat and his crew responded to our questions and concerns, and made us feel at ease during this process. Best of all was that they promised they'd be finished with this huge project by Christmas - and they were. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a remodeling project.
Description of Work: We had walls removed in our split foyer to create a large open space, a completely new kitchen, new hardwood floors installed to match our existing ones (and everything re-finished to match), a new stair rail, a marble foyer floor, and new recessed lights.

Over the past few years, my wife, Divine, and I have been mulling about getting our kitchen and master bedroom bathroom remodeled as they both need some serious updating. In October of 2017, we finally decided to go for it and go through the usual procedure of getting at least 2-3 bids for the projects, as they involve some serious dollars (for us, at least). The first bidder (we won't name it) was a big disappointment. The company representative that came did not seem to have the enthusiasm or energy to really help us out on a strategy as to the hows, whats, and whens involved in a major project. Besides the price quoted being ridiculously high, the choices in material was somewhat limited. Next, came VKb. Joe and Gail came to our house to do their thing. Both were very professional in their approach, took time to discuss things with us, and most of all, we felt comfortable dealing with them. Thus, VKB ended up the second and last bidder for our projects. The VKB personnel’s demeanor got us sold. The projects got underway in November for which Ferhat was assigned as the project manager. He was professional and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the projects, made himself readily accessible for any questions we have had over the course of the projects and he would avail himself whenever we wanted him on site for any project-related reason. He remained on top of things from day one and all throughout the progression of the projects. I am a very detail oriented person (to the point of being a pain in the rear at times) and there were times when some things seem out of place or I want them done a certain way, Ferhat always made sure that they got done without sacrificing safety and within standards. The work crew provided by VKB was outstanding. They were courteous, meticulous in their work, and tried as much as possible to prevent dust and debris from getting all over the house. They treated me and my wife with respect and they did the work as if they were working on their own houses. If I had another house that needed these types of remodeling, I would never settle for another work crew, If I could afford it, I would pay them a retainer just so they are available to work for me at anytime. Our experience with VKB has been nothing short of wonderful. Thank you to Joe, Gail, David, Hermes, Alonzo, Horatio, Marvin, Juan, Johnny, Emerson, and everyone else involved in these projects. Our very special thank you to Ferhat, who made things happen the way they did and made my wife’s day and mine.

Just wanted to thank VKB for a job well done. My wife Heather and I couldn't be happier with the end result of our kitchen project. Every one we dealt with from start to finish were professional, well skilled and extremely courteous. Our salesperson Calvin was a tremendous help with the layout and design of the project. He made suggestions which we hadn't even thought about which made the kitchen look even better than we had envisioned. He wasn't afraid to disagree with our suggestions either if he felt they might not be quite right. He really knows his stuff and he proved that to us. Ferhat was our project manager. He was wonderful and stayed on top of everything from start to finish. He kept me informed of every detail on a daily basis and always delivered on his promises. he was always available when I needed to contact him and if he was available to talk at that moment, called me back within 10 or 15 minutes. A special shout out to Henry as well. Not sure what his title was but he was obviously the do everything guy. Very skilled at all that he did and would always touch base with me before leaving each day. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience and feel very comfortable with referring anyone to this company. Once again, sincere thanks from Heather and I. We are both very happy!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I had my doubts going in, because you never know how it is going to turn out. I arranged for several bids, but Calvin blew everybody out of the park. He was knowledgeable, considerate, detail-oriented, and together we worked out a beautiful plan. Daniel our PM and his team led by Walter were efficient, conscientious, and professional. They tackled everything with precision and expertise and made the process go according to schedule, keeping me in the loop the whole time. A team from heaven, I cannot say enough good things about the team and the process.

Not well. The person who bought all the materials and was our initial consultant was usually unreachable. He was never to be seen again after our initial meetings. Our project manager couldn’t get a hold of the sales guy most of the time. The project manager was honest and nice but he had no control over the crew it seemed. The crew only spoke Spanish and usually showed up around 10-10:30 when they actually came. They didn’t check all the goods when they arrived so when it was time to install medicine cabinets they only just found out it was broken. If they would have checked the goods 3 weeks earlier we wouldn’t have had to then wait another couple of weeks to get installed. While they were waiting for the tile to come in all work stopped for weeks when there was so much other work that could have been moving forward. We were given the run around on why the crew wasn’t showing up and doing work. I am not happy with how the grout colors don’t match properly it looks poorly done. The carpet patches were done so poorly that they say they will get someone else to come out and fix it but it’s been weeks since they were finished with everything else and I have heard nothing. We had to inspect every night because we didn’t trust that things were progressing or that they were being finished properly. We had to get them to redo several things like the cabinet door direction and the light fixtures were put in upside down. We ended up with different shower accent tile and it didn’t match the wall paint so they repainted which made things look better. They originally said it would take 3 1/2-4 weeks it took 8 and it’s still not done bc of how they left the carpet. Not happy with how bumpy the project went go with a different company!

I am terribly Sorry for falling short of your expectation on this project. We invited everyone who was involved in your project to discuss what went wrong and what we could have done better to improve this experience. The only thing that was out of our hands was the carpet and broken medicine cabinets that kept showing up from the manufacture due to no fault of our own but I do agree that other work should have been done while we waited for replacement. We appreciate you taking the time to review our company. We have implemented new guidelines and better/improved project management tools that will allow us to monitor all of our projects from start to finish to avoid a similar situation. Please rest assure that all work done is warrantied for two years from day of completion. Please don't hesitate to call or email us should you require any service. We hope to get another opportunity in the future to reverse this experience. We truly are a great company that cares deeply about their clients. Best, VKB Team

VKB did an excellent job on the renovations to my bathrooms. Everyone was polite, punctual and professional, from salesman Junior Wizzart to project manager Jason to the men who came every day to work. They protected my stairs and carpets, cleaned up every day and kept me informed daily of progress on my project. The products that they carry are of excellent quality, with plenty of choices to customize your project. I highly recommend this company.

UPDATED[11/12/2018]: VKB's negligent work has now caused water damage multiple times in my home. They have provided no ETA for today's incident that caused floor damage in the kitchen and ceiling damage in the basement. Avoid them at all costs. They do not care about the consumer. Overall, the quality of the finished product was very good. They did a great job and took pride in their work. Sadly, much of that has been overshadowed by horrendous project management and lack of any punctuality with arriving at the work site. Lets break it down by the pros and cons. Pros 1. Quality of work 2. Dedication to making things right 3. Overall professionalism in the face of frustration (my frustration) 4. Design eye. I worked with Junior and he is excellent when it comes to directing the customer in the right direction. Cons 1. Project management (lack thereof) 2. Punctuality. Some days crews didn't arrive for hours after they were supposed to. 3. Headache inducing lack of coordination 4. **** poor responsiveness to questions, concerns or requests This was a large remodel project and I fully understood it to be a 2-3 month effort. It took a number of meetings and discussions to have VKB provide any sort of expectation of timing for each piece. As of now (which is 95% through the project), I have yet to see any sort of construction plan. The original documents were wrong in many places and I've sent them multiple emails with the corrected items. No updated document was every provided. This has caused issues during the construction phase. Incorrect ordering of supplies and confusion at the job site are 2 major frustrations of mine. Added to this, their ordering was often wrong and they had to re-order certain supplies over and over. A single knob for the bathroom took over 2 weeks and 3 orders. They were short on handles for kitchen drawers. That order was (theoretically) placed around 10 days ago. Still no handles and no ETA. I assume much of that can be blamed on the wrong initial documentation that I have repeatedly asked to be updated. The remodeling effort was the first time I've done anything of this magnitude, so it's been a learning experience for me. Having said that, I also feel VKB did not provide me with all the options I should have had. For example, I was presented with sample granite at their Columbia showroom. I, incorrectly, assumed that was my only choice. The folks from the granite supply recommended to VKB that I come in to check the full slab that would be used. While there, I noticed a much nicer looking piece, to which I was told I could use as it was the same quality of the original one. I ended up changing my selection. I wish VKB had taken the initiative to send me there in the first place. Additionally, I then needed/wanted to change my backsplash tile. Without any assistance from the project manager at VKB, I was able to go to the tile showroom (which a vastly superior selection) and choose a new and more appropriate backsplash. Finally regarding overall communication, VKB failed here. Instead of having a project manager communicating each phase of the project, I ended up having to dictate what needed to happen at certain points. VKB initially pointed me to use a program called BuilderTrend that should provide schedules, payment information, change orders and general communication. This would be updated by the project manager (I assumed either daily or every few days). It was over a month before I saw anything on there and after that, another month before more information was provided. It appeared to be a great tool in their arsenal, but they did not effectively use it. All in all, there were many frustrating points. As I said, their work was impeccable once complete. They need to seriously consider how they manage their projects and greatly improve their communication. As I write this review, I had to (yet again) prompt the folks there to find out why work was not being done today. Crews were supposed to be at the house between 8-9 a.m. 11:30 a.m. and no one has begun today's tasks. Perhaps I'll be updating this review later to give them credit for making things right. For a project that is not inexpensive though, I had higher expectations. VKB came to the house today (1/9/18) to perform the final inspection. As part of that, we discussed my prior concerns about how the project was handled. They were very apologetic and did not want my prior experience to be how the relationship ended. We discussed the positives of everything (the workmanship, design and quality) and negatives (see above). They definitely understood that my time was valuable and wanted to ensure me that they appreciated all feedback to improve their customer service. They took the time to reassure me that they stand behind their work and will do what it takes to make the situation right. VKB upgraded numerous project items which made the end result a valuable upgrade to my home. While there were certainly complications during the project (and no project is free of hiccups), the end result was 2 amazing bathrooms and and beautiful kitchen. I would recommend VKB today

VKB did such a good job last year remodeling my master bath that I decided to use them again to remodel my 32-year-old kitchen. I'm delighted with the results! Junior Wizzart, my designer, once again proved himself a master problem solver, guiding me through the confusing world of cabinet, countertop, floor, and appliance selection and visualizing the new layout. Jason, the project manager, did absolutely everything possible to ensure that the job was progressing well and that I was completely happy. He was there every day to check on things from start to finish. Walter, the head installer, and his co-worker, Aaron, were pleasant, meticulous, neat, professional, and eager to please, as they had been on my previous bathroom project. They made every effort to cover floors and furniture, minimize dust, and to clean up after each day's work. Overall, a great team!

It was a wonderful experience. I had no problems. The designers were flexible and accommodating and stayed within my budget. They took the time to listen and understand my tastes, then suggested styles/materials/products that they knew met my likes and budget. The bathroom is amazing and quite beautiful. I'm so happy with the final product. The crew was very hardworking, dependable and flexible and worked around my schedule. The project manager, Jason, kept me informed every step of the way and followed through on everything he said he was going to do. I'm a very satisfied customer and highly recommend VKB.

The service rep, limited himself to exactly an hour. Another company gave me a quote and the other guy spent hours here. Both companies gave me the same price quote, but the other guy was talking a lot more work, for the same price. He was very professional, but he didn't devote the time. He had another appointment set for an hour later. He was good on his professionalism. He was professional, but he was too professional. He was rushed and kind of not really amenable trying to work with me. Both companies said because I was talking about totally gutting the kitchen and everything, both of them said I was talking about a custom kitchen. If we're going to talk about a custom kitchen, you should already know that is going to take time. I had said from the beginning, the kitchen needs to be gutted. He should have said, "oh this isn't just replacing cabinets, this is a total custom kitchen". He should have anticipated that and planned on not spending only an hour sitting here talking to me. The difference between the 2 companies was very apparent when I met with the 2nd guy. There was a huge difference.

Job went well with only a couple of minor hiccups. The initial demolition went great and the clean up was excellent. The plumbing and electrical work was very good that moved various lines throughout the kitchen. The quality of the cabinets and granite counters were excellent quality and we were very happy with our choice. The flooring we had selected matched our existing flooring that connected the hallway and dinning room. The only issue we had was some miscommunication on certain painting aspects but they came back and corrected the issues. Overall - very happy with the finished product and hope to enjoy this kitchen for many years.

For several years I have wanted to update the original cabinets and countertops in my 30+ year old townhome. I chose VKB due to their excellent rating on Angie's List and the ability to do the job within my budget. The project manager, Jason, was extremely nice, polite and professional. He always told me that if I had any questions or concerns about the work that I could call him on his cell phone at any time. The workers were also very nice. They put up barriers around the kitchen to help contain the dust/dirt during the demo. The cabinet layout was slightly altered from the original design to give the kitchen a more symmetrical look and to give more cupboard space. I really like the new design. The cabinets and countertops are of excellent quality. The only problem I encountered was that the refrigerator did not fit after the cabinets were installed and the toe kick and trim had to be removed from the wall alongside the refrigerator. And there was a gap between the floorboards and the wall. It is a VERY snug fit between the wall and the cabinets. Jason told me that the wall alongside the space where the refrigerator goes is not supposed to have trim there and the fit is supposed to be snug, like it is with the stove in between the cabinets. His explanation did not make logical sense to me, but I do not know anything about home construction or kitchen remodeling. The only explanation that makes sense to me is that the measurements were off. The wall/floor was repaired at the close of the job. Thankfully it is in an area that is not visible. When the job was complete, Jason told me to call him if I have any problems with the work. Despite the issues with the refrigerator, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my new cabinets and countertops. I'm so glad I had it done.

Terrific. Calvin was the designer and has a great eye. Worked tirelessly to keep me within my budget. Polo was the project manager who was readily available by voice or text, answered all of my questions and handled minor setbacks quickly and efficiently. I did not incur any unforeseen expenses. Polo's crew was pleasant and professional even though there was a bit of a language barrier. I was reluctant at first to use them since I had used another contractor for other projects but their quote was considerably lower and with their promotion they were running I couldn't turn it down. Also their showroom hours were convenient. The workmanship, and the quality of the materials met my high standards and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I am really pleased with my experience working with VKB, and love how my Hall bath and Powder room turned out! I'd like to give a shout out to the folks that I dealt with: First, I'd like to thank Deniz for helping me design my bathrooms. It was overwhelming at first, and he had the patience and knowledge I needed to get through it. His design took into account my budget -- which I really appreciate! I did go over my budget, but it was because of my choices. Second, I'd like to thank Polo and his work crew -- they were professional and made sure to protect/clean my home from construction mess that comes with a remodel. If I had any concerns, or needed some changes made to the original design, Polo made sure to address them. He also made sure I was satisfied with work being done. When I had to go over my budget because the existing wall was not usable for what I wanted done -- he gave me options with pros and cons so I could make an informed choice with budget in mind. Last but not least, I would like to thank Al who was in charge of ordering the stuff I picked out. There was a time when I ordered the wrong things, and he just went with the flow! He sent back what I originally order and put in the new one.
Description of Work: Remodeled my Hall bath and Powder room. I had the Hall bath gutted and totally redone -- I replaced the drywall, vanity, counter top, bath tub, mirrors, wall cabinet, faucet, and shower/tub fixtures. I had the floor and shower/bath wall area tiled. In the powder room I replaced the vanity, counter top, mirror, ceiling fan, and lighting. For both baths I added wainscoting, repainted, and had door hardware replaced.

We had used VKB to remodel our master bathroom last year and were very pleased with the results, so we hired them again for two upstairs full hall baths. One was done in a traditional style with subway tile, and the other in a modern "spa bath" configuration that converted an old bathtub/shower into an enclosed spa shower. Joe worked with us on the design and selection of the materials, and we liked his suggestions and the real-time modeling software that helped us envision how it would look. Our project coordinator Polo was responsive and helpful, always available by phone or text to supervise the work. We did the bathrooms in sequence, so we had people in the house for about 6-7 weeks, including replacement of all upstairs doors and a new fan in the downstairs powder room. Polo helped with making sure everything was done as we wanted, and we had only minor issues with unexpected things like hardware that was missing but that was quickly reordered. Elvis and the crew were -- as always -- extremely polite and friendly, and took care to clean up and minimize dust as much as possible. We've enjoyed working with Polo, Joe, Elvis and the VKB team once again!
