The Vertical Connection Carpet One

Vertical Connection is wonderful! I asked them for a certificate of insurance, and they gave it to me. Stephanie was very helpful. In an e-mail, I told her that I wanted white draperies. When I arrived at the store, she had many samples already picked out for me. I told her that I wanted the draperies to match the paint on my walls. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring a sample of the paint color. Stephanie, however, has samples of all of the Sherwin Williams paints, and she matched the swatch to the paint color perfectly. She also had a nice selection of hardware to go with the curtains. The installer put up the drapes in less than an hour. I had a great experience with this vendor!

We needed a flooring for our laundry room - quickly. Their communication was excellent, and they provided quality work with a quick turnaround. We're happy to be able to use the laundry room again!

I was disappointed with Vertical Connection on a number of levels: 1. The woman I worked with, Diana, told me a few things that turned out not to be true. For example, she said that I would pay VC for everything and they would pay their contractors. But when it came time to pay the man who installed the cabinets (the biggest part of the job), I had to pay him myself... by cash or check. (I would have strongly preferred to pay for the entire job with a credit card.) When I mentioned this to Diana, she pointed out that I had signed a contract stating that I would pay the contractor directly in cash or by check. This is true... and I really have myself to blame because I did not read the fine print on the contract! (It would have been nice if Diana had pointed that out before I signed.) But I trusted her word, and she did tell me that VC would pay the contractors! So, if you use VC, please read every word of any document you sign... and you will be asked to sign a lot of documents (at least for a complete kitchen renovation)! Another thing she told me was that VC would "take care of" (her exact words) moving an electrical outlet... meaning, I assumed, that they would not charge me extra for it. But they did charge me extra ($250), which I was again expected to pay directly to the contractor in cash or check. 2. The renovation took much longer than Diana told me it would... I mean more than double the time. She said it would take 3 weeks at the most... and it took well over six weeks. The cabinet demolition started on 11/8. That is what I consider the first day of the renovation. Diana gave me a written timeline stating that the renovation would be completed by 11/30. On 12/24 it was still going on! The final touches (minus what still hasn't been done to this day) were completed in early January. There are still (six months later!) a couple of small items that need to be completed in the kitchen. I have e-mailed Diana numerous times over the past couple of months. She keeps telling me that she will let the contractor know... but then I do not hear back from either her or the contractor. So a small part of the wall under the cabinets is unfinished, and the drawer on the range is still crooked and too large for the appliance. (I gave up on the range drawer, even though Diana said she would take care of it months ago. I would still like the unfinished area of the wall under the cabinets to be done, but I have essentially given up on that too... even though the last time I heard from Diana, she once again said she would contact the contractor about it. I assume this has not happened and never will.) 3. The quartz countertop I had installed had large spots on it that did not appear on either the photos on the company's website or the sample slab that Diana showed me at the VC showroom. Everyone who saw the new countertop in my kitchen agreed that the spots were ugly and unacceptable. Diana contacted the countertop company for me (I will give her that)... but after they came out to look at my countertop and proceeded to do nothing (I never heard back from either them or Diana about it), I contacted the company's national headquarters myself. That changed everything! They came out again and repaired every single spot I did not like. (So I am now happy with my countertop.) I dealt with a different person at VC for the new flooring, which I had installed in my hallway as well as the kitchen. I have no complaints about that part of the renovation. It went smoothly, was completed on schedule, and looks very nice! They did charge me more than their original estimate, but at least I could pay the entire amount (for the flooring) directly to VC with a credit card. I think one reason my kitchen renovation took so long is that VC relied on one contractor (one individual!) for all the cabinetry work. One time he was sick for about a week, and then he didn't work between Christmas and New Year's... so that delayed the completion into January. Remember, it was supposed to be completed by 11/30!

Everything went according to plan and on time. They even came out afterward to check on whether we were happy with the end result. We were.

Their website stated that they match competitor's prices but would not match and over charged thousands vs some if their competitor's prices. Owner and management was rude and not very helpful.

Just stopped by their location in Columbia and I spoke with Steve. Previous I talked to Steve regarding their price matching deal on their website and he was receptive to the price matching from other retailers. I came by today with the price quote from another retailer. We found the exact match stainmaster carpet and he quoted me the price of $5,100. I was quote $3,100 from the other retailer and Steve was speechless. I asked if he would price match and he said no. No attempts were made to win my business. All he said was that their warranty was 10 years.

They do not re-install carpet that they have not originally installed. Installation/repair is listed as one of their services.

Excellent! I have a terrible time choosing the right color and material, but design consultant Stephanie helped me pick just the right flooring. Her level of service and consultation is outstanding. Installation also went very smoothly. A very good experience overall.

Excellent. They have installed window treatments and floors in our previous residence over the years and now window treatments in our new house. They give wonderful advice (thanks to Stephanie and Kathy) and their window treatment installer Scott does a great job. We will need more window treatments and will get them from Vertical Connection.

Excellent - couldn't have asked for a better experience

The carpet looks great and the installers did a good job. There was miscommunication in scheduling the installation. The man who sold us the carpet said that the installation could be done in one day except for the stair runner. However, when the installers arrived, they said that they were not going to do the whole upstairs that day. They only worked about 5 hours and then left for another job. If we had been told that up front we would not have emptied out all of the bedrooms at once.

The salesman was very good. He was prompt, professional and friendly. The technicians Tracey and Dave were very good. They were also friendly coming on-time each day and worked hard to do a through job, Our floor is beautiful !! So far we are very pleased.

A very good experience! I cannot compare prices, because I selected Vertical Connection based on recommendations about the level of service. I have a hard time choosing the right products myself, so Stephanie at Vertical Connection helped me select the flooring. She was excellent at showing me options and explaining the pros and cons of each, and she made a visit to my home to be sure our potential selection coordinated well with other things in the environment. I love Stephanie!!! Installation was great too, and I was so pleased that I used Vertical Connection again the next year when I was ready to do the other level of the house. All in all, a great experience and I recommend them highly.

The sales staff and owner were most accommodating and competitive in their pricing and in making suggestions as to the color and kind of carpeting that would best serve our purposes. It was and easy meeting and V.C. was very accommodating in setting and then re-doing the install dates. The two installers - Tom and Ron - were also accommodating in moving furniture, chairs, dressers, etc., around after we had emptied as much as we could (filling up our garage in the process!). They were very professional, polite, easy to work with, and accommodating to our needs, especially in replacing the furniture into different positions in a few cases. They checked with us as needed and were very efficient and polite, finishing in less than 2 days.

We are moving unexpectedly and needed new carpet before selling. They were able to schedule me, had the right product, and installed it one day. Everything was done to our satisfaction and the overall service was fantastic.

I called the Vertical Connection (TVC) on a Sunday. The salesperson (Steve B). didn't have an answer and said he would call me back when he did know the answer. 2 hours later, he called back!! - on Sunday!! TVC salesperson was very straight forward and I didn't feel pressured. They were easy to work with. TVC prices were slightly more competitive than two similar businesses for the same product and came within our budget (but at the upper end!!). TVC carpet installation mechanics did an excellent job. They showed up on time, were polite, got right to work, and answered all of my questions about their work (I am curious - like to know how things are done). They removed the old padding (which they were supposed to do) but before they installed the new padding, they fixed a squeaky floor location, and the swept the bare plywood floor. The seams on the final install are hard to see. They vacuumed the installed rug and cleaned up and it all looked great when they left. To me, it was clear these mechanics (Ron and Tom) took pride in their work.

Kitchen renovations are tough. They are intrusive and inconvenient. The Construction crew from Vertical Connections were Professional, polite and considerate. They always kept us informed and clean up the space daily. They were very meticulous about their work. Time wise, I would say they were very good. We did new counters, cabinets, redid the layout, new appliances, electrical and hardwood floors.

In August 2015, I began looking at products and services for refreshing my kitchen. My husband and I visited multiple suppliers and looked at sheet vinyl, linoleum, laminate, wood, tiles and luxury vinyl tiles that have both a vinyl and limestone composition. When we were ready to put in the kitchen floor (February 2016), we decided to work with Bob Frankenberger at Vertical Connection. The price quotes that we received from multiple A-rated flooring companies on Angie's List varied considerably. Vertical Connection's prices hit the middle ground rather than the very high-end pricing quoted by similar Armstrong dealers. Bob Frankenberger visited our home with the samples that we had considered. He measured the area and gave us several suggestions about the renovation project that we found very, very useful. Bob knows all about materials and techniques that helped us out. We wanted to keep everything very simple and clean. He told us about his experiences in his own home and that of his father-in-law. His perspective shed new light that helped us to avoid several potential missteps. Dave and Adam provided the scheduling that we requested and answered all my last-minute product questions. Sean Brooks and his assistant, Mark executed the installation. Sean and Mark did an outstanding job in laying the tile on a diagonal design and grouting. EVERYONE that we encountered at Vertical Connection was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and very patient. I had never renovated anything in this house, previously, and the experience was a lot for me to take in all at one time. Bob, Dave, Adam, Sean and Mark took my questions (and confusions) all gracefully in stride. NO STRESS!... which I found to be quite remarkable. I would definitely recommend Vertical Connections to everyone on Angie's list. Shop around first and then go to Vertical Connection. You will be pleased with the high quality materials and the outstanding staff. My husband, my grown children, my neighbors and I all agree that the finished product is outstanding.. the Verostone, the installation, the color of the grout, and the labor are all top shelf. I highly recommend this company.

It went very well. Paid a little more than I expected, but the color was perfect. Ron and Tom, the installers, were friendly, efficient, and respectful of my floor by removing their shoes as it was a rainy day. The whole experience couldn't have gone better.
