He came out and did the work just fine. The locks did have a bit of gunk in them, and he told me how to prevent it in the future. I did have an issue with the back door being stuck, and it took them a few days to finally come back out and fix it. Overall, everything went well, but I did notice they seemed a bit busy. He had a walkie talkie that kept going off while he was working. I wish he would've been able to warn me about the older lock possibly sticking, and be able to make more than 2 keys. Now I have to go to Home Depot to make more.

Purchased an offer that was very reasonably priced. Appointment was made in a timely manner. Work was performed efficiently and professionally.

I called yesterday and although they would have been happy to come ot, they advised that services after 5pm were a bit more expensive so I scheduled service for 4/27/2016. Tony arrived promptly and had re-keyed the locks within 30 minutes. I tested all six locks with each key and every key worked 100%. I will definitely cll them. Had I been thinking I would have had my file-cabinet re-keyed or changed since I lost the key to it.

Darrell was very polite and communicated well to set up a time to perform work, arrived on time and completed the work in timely manner. Very friendly. I purchased the $165 for 4 locks deal and added $27 for an additional lock. He took all the old keys for recycling. I am very pleased with this transaction and would recommend Pop-A-Lock for re-keying needs. I would consider calling them for any other locksmith needs should they arise.

Initially, I was not contacted to set up an appointment time and date.. I contacted Pop-A-Lock in the morning I had expected service, to inquiry when their technician would arrive, and it appeared my order had been lost. However, Frank called within the hour and arranged to have a lock technician come to the house within two hours. The technician was on time and professional. Things can always go wrong, but the mark of a good company is how they work to fix a problem. Pop-A-Lock gave excellent customer service and I recommend them to anyone in their service area.

My initial call to Pop-A-Lock, I believe, was to dispatch and Sara, the young lady I spoke with, wasn't aware of the deal. However, she was very professional and immediately took my information and assured me someone would be calling me regarding my order. Within an hour or so, I was called by Tony to set up an appointment which was for the next day. Tony was on time and very professional. It wasn't a particular easy install but he worked diligently and explained some things as he went along. All in all, I am very satisfied with the work.

I needed locks re-keyed for a rental property. The technician showed up at 5:00pm. He asked for proof of identification of ownership of the house. He recorded my driver's licenses, and began working on re-keying of my front and back door locks. The front and back door top locks had to be replaced at a cost of $60. Then, I decided to have the basement security storm door lock re-keyed. The extra cost was $20. So, the extra cost for the service was $80 plus the purchase of the $165 deal the total cost was $245. Finally, I was very pleased with the work of the technician and service provided, and I will be probably be purchasing another deal real soon.

The provider was punctual and professional.

He showed up on time and got right to work, finished in about 2 hours. All the locks worked correctly with the new keying.

I asked the provider if he could re-key an Anderson storm door lock; door was installed in 2006. Provider said that he could not and that he'd been looking for months to find replacement keys. I asked if he could replace the entire lock & handle assembly and the provider said he had not been able to find replacement in months. I type Anderson Storm Door replacement locks and found the entire replacement assembly in less than two minutes.

He did a good job, wasn't very punctual though.

Everything went well. It took about an hr. or so. All keys worked fine.

It began a bit shaky, I purchased the deal and called the Columbia Maryland office to set up the appointment. When I first called I seemed to be transferred to another number that just beeped busy so I called back and was able to reach a live person. I gave her all my information, the receipt number, my address, phone and email and she told me she would have a locksmith get in touch with me to set the appointment. Several hours later I checked my email and there was an email from Pop-a-lock stating I should get in touch with dispatch to set an appointment and it was a different number, so I thought, well I best call just to be safe. So I phoned the dispatch number which actually rings in Texas, explained that I had already given my info to the Columbia MD office as I had purchased the special from Angie's list and they had absolutely no record of me, they didn't seem to know there was a special because they kept saying Craigslist, they assumed I lived in Columbia, had I not said hey don't you want to know my city they would have been driving all over Columbia MD looking for a home that is in Baltimore County. We finally got everything straight on the phone. A Locksmith called me within 2 hours and actually showed at my house THAT DAY, he was absolutely AWESOME. He re-keyed all the locks and everything seems to be working fine, I went out to home depot bought some extra keys and I am good to go. If you can get past the customer service side of it, you will love their Locksmiths, I would definitely use them again! I priced other locksmiths and I was priced $220 for the same job so this really is a very good deal! Same day service, I never expected that at all, I thought it would be at least a day or two and as I said the Locksmith was great!

Overall good. He texted me and confirmed time day before. He was punctual, and performed the job as needed. After he left, we encountered on unforeseen problem when we went to lock the door with the bottom lock, and he came right back this afternoon to fix. Suggestions for others using this provider: a. Be specific on which locks, and what you need upfront: re-key or new locks all together b. Make sure to "test" each lock with each key from the outside like you were coming home. Also make sure to lock door, and pull on locks/door knob to make sure they do not move or come out. c. Keep the installer's phone number in case of any problems. d. As an FYI - They give you 2 set of keys and extra sets cost $5.00

Very easy to schedule service. Technician was prompt and completed work quickly. No complaints at all, would definately use again.

They were fantastic! I called on a Sunday morning and the technician was here within a couple of hours. He gave me an estimate over the phone and completed the work quickly and at the quoted rate.

Update on 07/07- I am updating my review after I was contacted by the owner of the company who was courteous and offered to send another qualified personnel to fix the lock. At end of day, i am happy with his follow up and assistance to get issue resolved. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am writing this review to share my experience with Pop a Lock. We got locked out and needed assistance towards unlocking the door and we contacted Pop a lock based on one of neighbor's suggestion. While the phone call and follow up from their staff was good, we ran into an issue when their staff member could not get our key to work on lock after unlocking. He tried to fix and made couple of calls to his office. We were told that he was not qualified to fix the issue so other professional from company would be dispatched at later date to fix. Believing their explanation, I authorized payment for services. After repeated phone calls, we were able to schedule appointment with one of their team members named Larry. Twice the appointment time was not honored without any follow up from their side. Since then our phone calls have not been answered by this staff member. This episode has left open questions about professionalism of company where scheduled appointments are not honored and shows lack of credibility to their workmanship by not accepting mistakes done during original task and failing to correct them.

Tech was an hour late with no call ahead. Installed keypad lock upside down. Refused to offer Angie's List discount. Threatened and did take keys and my old locks when I asked to adjust the bill with AL discount and upside down lock. He screamed at my babysitter and woke up my two year old daughter at 9pm . No response from Frank McGrath. Corporate Pop A Lock advised a police report. Please r view Yelp before using this vendor. ***Update: I was contacted by Frank McGrath only after my review posted (after well over a week of trying to get in touch with him). He indeed came over, showed me he had my keys, showed me they worked, and then proceeded to tell me he'd fix the needed repairs and discount the work for my trouble, only IF I took down my review. Feeling threatened for the second time by this company in my home (and needless to say blackmailed) I paid him the full price he then requested after I shared with him that his request was inappropriate. I reminded him that had he put quality and service first, or at least a priority after the first incident, the review would have never been written in the first place. Unfortunately this company's priorities were clear and they were not to provide reliable and honest service. He cashed my full check with no hesitancy.

Tech. was very patients in accommodating our late arrival. Replace the existing lock for the same price as the purchased coupon for rekeying but wouldn't accept the coupon as payment for the services rendered. Not sure if the commission to Angie's List is involved in the vendor's decision. Applied for and received refund for the coupon.
