MARYLAND POOLS

Maryland pool was one of three companies we received bids from. We did not use Maryland pools but I still felt compelled to review their bid process. They responded immediately after our inquiry and Jim set up a time to come out and talk to us. Jim did a great job in capturing our vision for a pool. He was meticulous about measuring, taking elevations and drawing up a design. He was always quick to follow up and answer any questions we had. As I sated - while we didn't use them - I wad completely impressed by Jim and the effort that was put into the bid.

My family and I are in the market for a 500 square foot pool. When Mr. Gary Sipes our assigned sales rep came out to provide a price quote, he arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes late. This was enough to take him out of the running for our business, but since he was our first estimate, we continued with the appointment. Based on MD Pools options and that fact that we believed he provided a good presentation, we were considering this company as one of the top 3 out of the 5 companies we have spoken with. When we attempted to negotiate and request his best and final offer, he was defensive, offensive and beligerent. He stated " we are not a dollar store pool company". I stated that I am well aware of the associated cost of $40,000 and that I just wanted him to provide his best price. His tone was very rude and unprofessional and I was quite surprised that he would speak to a woman in that manner. I e-mailed the owner of this company, I received a read receipt from my e-mail but he did not respond or offer any apology nor any acknowledgement of his employee's deplorable behavior. I guess this is just how they do business. I took my $40,000 to Anthony & Sylvan Pools.

Nothing on the repairs has been done to date and probably won't.
