I have a very complicated slate roof, with a turret, dormers, and many converging rooflines. I had missing slate, a major water leak, 3 fireplaces that required repointing, and a flat garage roof (not slate) that was cracked, unbeknownst to me. Louise August Home Improvements started the work immediately, advised on the additional requirements (fireplace repointing) and the garage roof. They were professional, thorough, worked efficiently and expeditiously, and were kind, thoughtful, and kept me informed throughout the project. I don't usually become fond of those individuals working on my house, but I have to say the Louise August company/family business is wonderful, and I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Great and efficient

I was able to get same-day service to repair two small roofing issues. The workers took before-and-after photos and completed the job in less than a day. The company explained the work that I needed and also inspected the rest of the roof to see if there were other trouble spots.

What a great team that is honest and transparent. The responded quickly to my request for a gutter cleaning and gave me an assessment of additional updates that would improve my roof/gutter issues. I would use them in the future for all my gutter and roofing needs.

Very quick initial response and had someone checking out the issue within hours (leaky skylight). The roof was repaired the next day, very efficient and great work.

From my 1st phone conversation with Jim , I was made to feel Louise August knew their stuff, and not only would be competent and easy to work with, but also offered fair and reasonable pricing for the repair of my leaky roof. Within 1 day of our initial conversation, I received a visit and a quote, and the work was performed and completed the very next day. As an added bonus, before and after photos of my roof (which I would never have been able to view on my own (row home, flat roof)) were provided. I thoroughly appreciated Louise August's professionalism, and look forward to using them again for roof sealant upkeep in the future. They helped make a scary situation better quickly and efficiently.

These roofers responded to my request for an estimate quickly and once a repairer came over to look at the roof, they offered to make repairs right away. Although the final cost was more than what I expected to pay, the repairs were done quickly and they came with a promise that if the repairs didn't hold they would come back to repair it. Photographs documented the work.

We had our roof for our DC rowhouse replaced in 2013 by a different company, but within seven years a number of the shingles had fallen off and we had leaks near our skylight and water pouring down our front porch. I called the original roofer and they wanted to charge me $3600 for the repairs, which I felt that I shouldn't have had to pay given that the roof was seven years old. I then called August Roofing and they charged me $2500 to replace the missing shingles, seal and paint the vents, tighten the flashings, and clean and tighten the gutters. They came quickly and did the work fast and were responsive to my texts and questions. I waited to write this review to see if I had any issues in heavy rain, but now three months later, everything still looks great!

Jim & George came over to the house within hours of our request (they were nearby). George got on the roof and checked out the gutter. No clog. Wood fascia is rotting causing gutter to not drain properly. A bigger job than just removing dead leaves. We will schedule this fix in the fall.

Jim contacted me just a couple minutes after I sent the request online. He updated me very quickly when his guys were unable to get to my house on time. Also his guys were very friendly and did a great job cleaning my gutters. If you talk to Jim you will find he is very kind and easy to negotiate. We really appreciate them.

Company was prompt, efficient, with client services solution approach to repair leaking roof as well as repairing chimney post, sealing garage roof and roof tile replacements. Exceptional contractor repair attn to detail. Will recommend as well as re engage company for any future requirements
