Keith and Jason showed up at 8:30, put down drop cloths to protect our carpet, got right to work and by 10:30 had installed the new water heater. Very good experience!

+ -1 moreIn April of 2010, we had some flooding due to our existing sump pump not keeping up with some heavy rains. I called Ehrhardt Brothers after reading recommendations on Angie's List and they came out in short order to replace the pump. The folks I spoke to over the phone were courteous and willing to hear all of the concerns I had and fielded a number of questions both before and after the pump was installed. Similarly, they explained why they choose the pumps that they do in a way that I found both proactive and reassuring. As these things go, it was a very pleasant experience and I'd definitely do business with them again.

+ -1 moreI can't recall if there was anything else they did. I hadn't used the company before. It was pretty basic work and they did a fine job. They came when they said they would. They were pleasant and there wasn't any problem at all. They cleaned up whatever was required and I didn't have to do anything afterwards. They came pretty quickly after we called. I usually have two or three estimates for bigger jobs, but I don't think I did with that job because it was a pretty minor job.
Description of Work: Ehrhardt Brothers Quality Plumbing replaced a lot of the things like the float mechanism inside the toilet. We had a toilet that was running through.

+ 0 moreEverything went well on all counts. Mike gave me a quote quickly, arranged to have the work done a few days later. The crew of two (experience and junior plumbers) showed up and started knocking out everything quickly. The toilet handle was not on my list (for them) but they saw it and popped a new one in - saved me a trip to the hardware store and the handle was of better quality than I could have purchased anyway. I'm very happy with the quality of the sump pump and their work and have used them since.
Description of Work: Repair pinhole leak in copper pipe, clean 3" drain line, replace sump pump, replace faucet washers in two mop sinks. Plus replaced a toilet handle.

+ 0 moreEverything went pretty well. There was a hitch with the water heater wiring for a commercial feature that wouldn't apply to residential installations and the factory was no help. But we sorted out the schematics and everything's good. My only suggestion is that they could have cleaned around the base before installing the new heater, and cleaned up up better afterwords, but I had told them early that I wanted to make a meeting at work if possible so that was a contributing factor (especially since we got hung up with the wiring).

+ -1 moreMike did come by as agreed on April 29, 2010, however it is May 10, 2010 and I have yet to receive a written proposal for the work. I kept having to call the office to get a quote and never received one. I'm not sure if they are too busy or just didn't want to do the work. Nevertheless, I see this as a bad omen and have decided to use another company for my plumbing projects.
Description of Work: Mike came to my home to provide an estimate to replace my polybutylene pipes with CPVC as well as other plumbing work to be done, i.e., replace thermostat on hot water heater and replace toilets.

He was very neat, diagnosed our problem - unstable toilet caused by uneven floor and spent the necessary time to fix it. He explained everything he needed to do and was very professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone with a plumbing problem.
Description of Work: Wobbly toilet in guest bathroom. He removed toilet, disconnected plumbing, installed a new ring, shimmed the toilet so that it was level, reconnected plumbing, and caulked around the toilet.

+ -1 moreKeith was thorough and quick installing the new faucet and then worked on the toilet. He explained to us what the issue was and fixed both problems. He explained that this could probably fix the problem and since waiting to see if it did, wouldn't be incurring more cost than to wait and see, we left it at that. As always he is very aware of the cost and tries to give a lot of value for the money.
Description of Work: Keith installed a new faucet with separator in the kitchen and fixed a "running" toilet. He is just the best plumber and nicest guy one could want. They are so lucky to have him and I'm glad I found this company.

+ -1 moreWe had a leak under our kitchen sink behind the cabinet. I noticed water dripping in the basement directly below the sink. I called Ehrhardt Brothers on Wednesday afternoon and scheduled an appointment for Thursday morning. Keith showed up on time and quickly found the leaky pipe, which unfortunately required cutting away part of the back of the cabinet. He took pains to cut as little as was necessary. He also replaced the drain pipe under the sink, which had a crack but was not leaking. I was especially impressed with the invoice, as Keith has very neat handwriting! The job took 2 1/2 hours and was about $300, which was about what I expected. I was happy with their work and would gladly call them again.

+ -1 moreOur original toilet (38 years old) was becoming harder and harder to flush and fill so several of our children gave us a new one for Christmas. I called Ehrhardt Bros. and made an appointment for Keith to come on Monday morning to install it. He arrived at 7:30 a.m. and by 8:30 the toilet was installed and working perfectly. He replaced cracked flanges and a valve which added a few dollars to the one hour labor charge. This was Ehrhardt's seventh visit to our house in the past ten years and Keith's sixth visit and I will never hire any other plumber. They are prompt, efficient, and really know their business.

+ -1 moreRecently we noticed that water was seeping underneath our wood laminate floor in the kitchen. We thought our dishwasher was leaking so called BGE, with whom we have a service contract. The repairman came but could not detect the problem because there was standing water underneath the DW and he couldn't tell where it was coming from. He told us to dry it out and he would come back and check it out again. We cleaned up the water and did tests to see when the water appeared and discovered that it only happened when water was draining OUT of the sink. We called Ehrhardt Brothers yesterday and they gave us an appointment for between 7 and 7:30 this morning. Keith arrived at 7:30 and by 7:40 had discovered the problem which was a large split in the drain pipe behind the drywall below the sink. He removed only enough of the drywall to make the repair and replaced a large section of the copper pipe with PCV pipe. He was here for a total of 1 1/2 hours. Before he left he replaced the bottom panel of the dishwasher which the BGE person had removed in order to see underneath the washer. I have used the company several times over the years and will never call anyone else. They are quick to diagnose and to fix any problems we have had in our older house. I would recommend them without reservation.

He takes off his shoes when he comes into the house, smiles, shakes hands which is really a nice start. Then he completes the work in short time and completely. + -1 moreI noticed an on-again-off again leak in my basement ceiling below a toilet. Keith diagnosed it as a worn wax seal and replaced the wax ring. He also replaced an old float and a plumbing line that was not in code any more. Another plumber from a different company told me my floor was not in good shape and needed to be replaced and that was creating the problem. Keith said the sub-floor was in good shape and that the wax seal should do the trick.

+ 0 moreOur underground sump pump died during the heavy rains of September 2008. I called Ehrhardt Brothers in a bit of a panic, fearing that our basement would flood. The plumber (Keith) asked if I would be home in the next half hour! He arrived in just under that time, fixed the sump pump, and then repaired a leaking outdoor spigot. I know a less reputable person would have tried to sell me a new sump pump. Instead I got a new valve for $25.00!
