Definition Painting Services (DPS) was very responsive to communication through the Angie's List website and set up an appointment to perform an estimate, though ultimately they just needed a photo of the work to be done (it was pretty minor) in order to provide the quote. They did the work, it looks great, and I'm very pleased. They weren't the cheapest quote I got but they were reliable. The only hiccup occurred on the morning they were scheduled to show, they were about 40 minutes late because they got my appointment mixed up with one scheduled for the next day, but they were very apologetic and it felt sincere. All in all, nothing to get too upset over. I would contract with them again - their work was very good and they were quick to finish.

Definition Painting Services comes across as a very professional and skilled organization. However, in reality they are just good talkers with no creditability.

I was very pleased with the services provided by Definition Painting Service. Prior to purchasing the Angie List deal I contacted Definition Painting Service to provide an estimate. Joel came out to my house and I explained to him what I was trying to do and what areas I wanted painted. He explained the Angie List deal was for 2500 square feet of wall space which is different then the total area of the house. I understood this from reading the deal so it was not a surprised. He did accurate measurements and I was actually under 2500 sq feet which I was surprised. He was very fair in doing the measurements and was not trying to nickle dime me. After the estimate I purchased the deal through Angie's List and heard back from the provider within 24 hours. I was in a rush to get this job done since I am putting my house on the market. My original appointment had to be changed by Definition Painting Serive because they got tied up on another job. This is understandable because it is a small family company. Again it was only within 10 days of having the estimate. They promised me they would be there the next Monday (were originally scheduled for a Thursday/Friday) and would have the job done in two days. On the first day the painters arrived within the scheduled time frame and I met with the foreman. We walked around the house and I explained the job and provided him with a paint sample. I trusted them in the house so I left for the day and provided him a key. At the end of day one they removed all the coverings on the furniture and vacuumed. I had to move some furniture back so I could sleep that night. The next day I had them let themselves in to do the rest of the work. When I came home late that night the job was done and all the furniture was put back in the original place from Day 1. The painting looked great and gave a fresh look to my home. I researched many other deals for painting and I believe this was the best deal currently out there. I would absolute use them again.

They were excellent, very professional and easy to deal with. They arrived on time the day we had agreed. Due to unexpected guests, we asked them whether they could come the following days instead. They checked with the office, and agreed. The following day they arrived again perfectly on time, conducted a walk-through with us and noted all the various spots that needed attention. They prepared the areas well, carefully, masking ledges and covering every surface nearby, and the floors. They worked carefully, paying attention to the smallest details, and also painting larger ares than strictly necessary, to ensure a more 'seamless' transition to the non-painted ones. We asked for an extra small job, they again checked with the office and were able to to do it, for a reasonable extra amount of money. We are delighted with the work and the professionalism in both the front office and the gentlemen who came, we would gladly call on them again, and we will recommend the firm without reservation.

It went great! They were on time early in the morning and they painted, it seemed, even down below the grade line for the brick and addition. They were super easy to work with and Joel is a professional. The supervisor they had on-site was accommodating and professional as well. We even changed the color for the entire house on the second coat, and they worked with us and provided feedback. It was Joel's idea to paint two colors for the addition and what a great idea it was!! It looks stunning. They cleaned up nicely and when they power washed the metal above the brick, it became discolored. Joel worked with me on a price to paint it, far below what he would normally have charged. He likes to keep the customer happy, and this is a very customer oriented company. I will certainly use Definition Painting for all my painting jobs ... and I'm a Realtor.

No work done...Angie's list keeps asking me for a review.

As expected. Punctual, and did a good job. We noticed a few spots after they left than needed more paint but not a deal breaker.

I am writing this review to let the Angie's List community know how competitive the prices of Definition Painting Services are. On August 5, 2015, I finished receiving five quotes, all from licensed contractors, on how much it would cost to replace a drop ceiling in my building. Definition Painting's bid was $400 lower than the lowest bid that I received. Ultimately, I did not have the drop ceiling replaced because financial considerations convinced me to do something else entirely differently. Nonetheless, this says nothing about how competitively they bidded the work that I proposed they do.

Definition Painting was more than $1,000 less than any other bid I received for the described work. I began to worry when the spent an entire day prepping the areas to be painted - fixing small holes and aberrations in the drywall and such. I was getting ready for additional charges, but no, that's just their normal operating procedure - they want to ensure that the 'finished product' looks great. And it did. They repainted my entire inside of my house, removed existing wallpaper in two different areas, primed as necessary, and used three different kinds of paint (per my instructions). Painters were punctual, worked all day, and finished the job in a week. There were some minor paint splatters on the windows after they left, but that's quite minor. If I had called, they would have come back and cleaned those up, I just didn't see bringing them back for what would take me a half an hour to do. Overall, very, very pleased with the work, and would definitely use them again.

Joel showed up for the estimate exactly on time. Like, the doorbell rang at exactly the moment that the clock struck 1pm. It was amazing. He asked questions, I answered, he was lovely. We couldn't believe how easy it was to compare his estimate to the other two companies we received bids from. There was no question, we hired Definition asap. The team leader from Definition Painting was Lionel, who arrived at 8:15 on the first day, and every day after - with a smile. What a lovely guy. And, what a busy guy - boy, he gets right to work! And, the team he brought - they smiled and are the NICEST people ever, to us, the kids, even the dog. Even when we changed the color choices, added a mini-project inside and it rained in the middle of our job. All smiles. Wonderful people, incl'g a carpenter and had the lowest estimate. Moreso, their attention to detail was beyond our wildest dreams. On the last day, Lionel found pin-p**** size spots to touch-up. The size of a pencil-tip. That was amazing. The really great thing was the Joel's counsel helped our ugly brick house transform into a modern-ish looking house - just with a coat of paint, and by removing the shutters and changing the porch column post. It really looks amazing! We will definitely recommend them for everything, and hire them back whenever we have a need. These are wonderful people.

There services were excellent, they responded promptly to my requests and the painting was done perfectly. The staff are all very courteous and easy to get along with. Their pricing is very reasonable and was just a little more than half the price of the top rated painting company which has been in business much longer.

Initially the work was not up to par. I called them and they resent a worker to fix the errors. That is great customer service! Mistakes happen but as long as the business does everything they can to correct, then they will continue to earn my business. This is the second time using them and I will continue to. I highly recommend them.

It went really well. They did a great job. They did it all while I was at work. They cleaned up everything. They were great. The price was fair. It was a really big room. The quality of work was great. I had three different colors and I got them all right. It was a huge room and they did a great job. Everything was great.

Jimmy was phenomenal. He called ahead as asked, he did a fantastic job sanding and painting nearly the entire kitchen, and painted the baseboards, chair molding and trim, and even quoted me a great rate on an extra small task (caulking in the bathroom). I am very pleased with his level of work, and when I left him the key and combo, he made sure everything was tidy and clean. Thank you for a job well done, and I would not hesitate to hire this company again!

They were very good. We had to postpone three times because of rain, but they were willing to work with me to reschedule as soon as possible. I bought a Big Deal and had to pay extra for two coats as it was a dark color over white. I particularly liked that they use premium paint, Benjamin Moore in this case. So many contractors try to use low end paint. They painters were personable, polite and seemed genuinely interested in doing a good job. The change of paint color made a world of difference.

Found out after making bid that they don't work on plaster walls only plaster board. Contract was cancelled and refund provided.

This experience has been absolutely horrible. I had an appointment set for today between 8-9:00. They did not show and they did not call. When I tried to contact them they did not answer. I left messages and still have not heard back. I found their business address on their company website and drove to their business address. This ended up being a residential home with a truck in the drive with a Definition Painting Services logo on the side. A woman answered the door and said it is her husband's business and she knows I was on the schedule for today. She then proceeded to tell me I need to leave.

They say in the fine print they service Baltimore, however when I called they said they would not come to my area which is in Baltimore. Very disappointing.

They were great. They were fantastic. They painted like 4 or 5 rooms. They had some of their own supplies but I provided my own paint and stuff like that. They showed up on time. We were very happy with the product.

The guys worked quickly and steadily, and required very little instruction or supervision. Some minor defects on trimwork, but we're very satisfied overall, and would hire the same team again.

It went very well. They were a little late but explained that they got lost which is understandable. Three workers came to do the job which was fantastic since they were able to complete the job in about four hours. I am pleased with the job that wes done. They did not get any paint on my blinds or curtains on the windows. The workers worked really well together and were courteous to me. I was aware of the additional fees because the owner did an on site estimate one week before the job which is so helpful. The price was fair and affordable. The owner called me when I was unavle to download the contract and when I had questions. Good customer service! I would use them again.
