Description of Work: Definition's crew worked hard, and were pleasant. Communication could have been better - they substituted the paint mfr without telling me and used an inferior paint. Would recommend watching every minute of what they do to be sure you are getting what the contract says.

Description of Work: Painted entire townhouse and power washed/stained deck. They did an excellent job at a really good price. Old holes in the bathroom from removed towel racks looked like they were never there. Deck looks brand new. I am referring them to my sister in law to stain her deck.

Description of Work: We were very impressed with Definition Painting. Our entire experience was extremely positive, and our painters went out of their way to help us by moving furniture and making sure evertything was protected before they started. They were prompt, polite, and did an amazing job. We will definitely use them again, and have recommended them to a friend who is getting painting estimates.

Description of Work: I had them perform additional painting for additional cost that I paid directly to them. The best part of the job was they were very clean and no mess when they left. They repaired my walls way beyond what I expected. I was only expecting them to paint. My walls looked brand new when they left. I was very satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend them or use them in the future.

Description of Work: "I purchased a Big Deal from this company to paint my living room, dining room, hallway, and 1.5 story foyer. They were very pleasant and flexible in scheduling the job around my kitchen remodel. The painting took place as scheduled on 7/18/15.There were two painters: an adult male who spoke little English and a much younger, smaller guy who spoke no English. They were supposed to paint 2 coats (gray over light gold). Once they started, I had to go to work. They were still there when I got home and I had them correct some areas. Shortly after they left, I noticed some spots where the old paint was showing through, and it was obvious that they had only applied one coat. I immediately emailed the company. The owner responded and insisted they had painted 2 coats. (She never saw the job.) |I then had to be out of the house for a few days while the floors were refinished. When I returned in the daylight, I saw at least 20 areas where the old paint was visible. I emailed again, expressing my dissatisfaction. I wrote what I thought was a balanced review, stating the good as well as the bad. The owner responded, accused me of lying, and made some untrue statements. I posted a reply correcting her misstatements. She then complained to Angie's List that I was allowed to post two reviews. You then removed my first review. The owner emailed me, ""Please stop harassing us. I will be contacting Angie's List to discuss your behavior. We will be taking action on this situation now."" |I did have to hire another painter to redo the job. He confirmed that there was only one coat of paint. | |I spoke with an Angie's List rep by phone about this. But it was, frankly, a rather traumatic experience, and my trust has been broken. I have not used Angie's List since. Revisiting my experience by writing this is making me quite anxious! I have looked at the Big Deal offers in my email, but I am not tempted to purchase any. I don't plan to use Angie's List again. I would like for my membership to be discontinued and reimbursed. "

Description of Work: Pressure-washed (one day) and then painted the siding on my house (the next day). They taped everything and cleaned up completely. I paid $160 over the Angie's list cost for a paint upgrade and to get them to remove a set of shutters. Wonderful job. Couldn't be more pleased.

Description of Work: Repaired Sheetrock in 3 rooms. The team was prompt and courteous and did a very nice job. I will use them again.

Description of Work: The big deal did not include what I would consider necessary conditions to paint a house, in particular cleaning and priming. Those "additions" to the deal plus a second coat of paint were 3X the quote price of the Big Deal. This quote to paint a 1000 sqft, 1 story house was at least 30% - 50% more than other quotes I received.

Description of Work: I had ceiling damage from a faulty plumbing fixture. Half of my basement ceiling had to be torn down. Joel Alvarado was referred to me by another Angie's List contractor who was booked up during the time I needed to have the work done. He met me at my house at a time that was convenient for me and was right on time. I did not get any other estimates because his price seemed fair and he was available when I would be off from work. The job required 10 sheets of sheetrock, taping and joint compound, and priming. This was performed over a 3 day period. When finished, the new ceiling blended perfectly with the old ceiling and they left the place cleaner than before they started.
