We used Definition in the past and were pleased with their work. They are very neat and left out home spotless. This job is consistent with our previous experience and we continue to recommend as an excellent service provider.

I can't say enough good things about the folks at Definition. They were perfectly on time every day, and they always tried to work around our requests (because I was working from home and because our toddler was at home sometimes, too). The guys were friendly, flexible, and completely professional. The work was beautiful; they took off all outlet switches and other items that were attached to the walls, moved furniture as needed, covered everything in plastic (and the floors in paper), and protected our belongings diligently. At the end of each day, they cleaned up and at the end of the job, did a remarkable, thorough job of putting everything back where it had been. I can't say enough good things about these folks. They showed up on the first day ready to work, with the list of paint we'd already discussed. They spent that entire day doing meticulous prep work; it paid off. The walls look flawless now. We originally DID hire a cheaper painter -- and they were significantly cheaper -- but in our case, you get what you pay for. We had to fire that company in the first hour, and turned to Definition immediately, who were able to put us on their schedule quickly. They saved us and enabled us to still get our house on the market this summer. I can't thank Definition enough.

Definition has continued to be wonderful in all of my dealings with them. They have painted two houses for me and continue to be punctual, professional, and their work is excellent. They have worked with me about various changes and I have had an excellent experience.

The professionalism and friendliness of the entire staff to the care and cleanliness of the crew always makes it very easy for us to be repeat customers. We have no problem recommending this company....and we have!!

They did a great job at painting an entire interior of a Victorian house. I would definitely use them again, and I do. As a Realtor I am very picky about service providers, and Definition Painting meets all of my most picky requirements. Joel bends over backwards to accommodate and make the client satisfied.

The crew was on time every day, respectful of their surroundings, a pleasure to work with and on budget!!!

I have used Definition Painting for years; and keep them on my speed dial for all my painting needs. 2 years ago, I also used them to do tile work in a bathroom. They are meticulous in both their quality of work and their cleanliness of the work site. They are always punctual and typically finish ahead of schedule. I can depend on them to match paint colors and to provide recommendations. They use "old world" craftsmanship in everything they do and are true professionals. I have used the to paint my entire house, inside and out, multiple times. This past winter, they repainted the walls and ceilings of my first floor and partial second floor after a grease fire in my home. They excel at painting not only walls and ceilings, but also trim work free hand. I have and will continue to recommend them highly!

This was a big deal purchase. I think they did a good job. There were additional charges above the big deal price. I was outside of the square foot limitation. The price was commensurate with what others charged. What I ended up paying was almost identical to what I had paid previously with a different company. The price was not, like, a deal. I would say they did a good job. There were times when I had to go ask them to do sanding, but in general I would say it was good quality. They were very responsive and punctual.

The 2 workers were fantastic! Unfortunately we couldn't be home, but they kept us up to date and made sure to clarify anything they have questions about. The job they did was just wonderful. They really take their time and don't rush, which shows in the quality of their work. I would recommend them to anyone!!

We reached out and we have a very light gray house with white trim and we were told that we might be able to get away with just one coat to change the light gray to a creamy white but that in order to change the white trim to black trim, we would definitely need a second coat and that it would be $850 extra. So I would say that the deal is incomplete, it should say it's that price only if you plan on sticking to the same colors your house already is. If you want to change the color at all, it's going to require an extra $850. So we're going to try to return the Angie's List Deal.

We were displeased with that because they looked at the job instead of taking a lot longer and did do a certain service for a few hours and it wasn't nearly what we expected from them. We weren't at all happy with them. They did a wallpaper removal but they didn't do a really good job with that either. They could have done a better quality of work. It would have taken them a lot more time than they would have required like three or four hours. They just didn't seem to do a decent job.

They did some painting and they patched some drywall.

Perfection! I had three rooms painted, now my house looks gorgeous, the painters primed all the walls, took care of all the imperfections, and their painting was flawless. They cleaned up so well, that the rooms were cleaner then before they came, I will only use them for my painting needs, they were amazing. I would give the highest rating. They came on time, nice and efficient.

The company schedulers and painters were polite, highly professional and extremely hardworking. The painting team left the work areas immaculate when they were done. The work was beautifully and meticulously done. We will call them again for any future painting jobs and highly recommend them to others.

They did a very good job. However I found the process of getting an estimate a little confusing because they based it on the square footage of the walls whereas the coupons just offered to paint "rooms"

Short Version The quality of the work was poor. The company agreed the work was done incorrectly and wanted to redo the work. I was not confident they could do the job correctly, so I declined their offer and terminated the contract. I also requested to be reimbursed for the cost to remediate their sub par work. They agreed to my request (We did not agree on the amount to be reimbursed). When I sent them the bill and requested to be reimbursed for the cost I incurred, they told me the cost was outrageous ,offered several alternatives and to reimburse me for ½ of what I paid. I filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau. In her response to my BBB compliant one of the owners (Karen) stated I was lying, told me ?The Lord will be the final judge? and that I should ?seek the Lord?. Detailed Version The quality of the work was poor. The stain did not appear to be applied evenly. There were some places that were darker and other places that were lighter. There were lines/streaks etc. The workers were very messy. Stain was splattered and dripping down the wall, on the floor and on some dishes I had stored in the garage. I spoke to the foreman on several occasions about my concerns and he said it was because of the wood. I sent an email with pictures to the company expressing my concerns with the poor quality of the work. One of the owners (Joel) inspected the work and agreed that it was not done properly. He also stated that part of the problem was the stain provided was not a good stain. I told him if the foreman thought the stain was not a good quality he should have discussed this with me before starting the job and suggested an alternative. He agreed with me and stated the foreman did not handle the situation correctly. The company wanted to send another crew member out to remove the stain and redo the job. I did not have confidence this company could provide workers to do the job correctly. The date for the floor installation was approaching and I was concerned that if the second person did the work incorrectly; I would have to hire another contractor to remove the stain again and complete the job for a 2nd time. I did not want to take this risk because it would cause me to have to reschedule the installation of the floor. Therefore, I sent the company a letter terminating the contract and informing them I expected them to reimburse me for the cost of remediating the sub par work that was done by their company. They agreed to my request. (We did not agree on the amount to be reimbursed). When I started this project I obtained estimates from two contractors. I chose Definition Painting to do the work. When they did not do the work correctly I went with the 2nd contractor to correct their sub par work and complete the job. After the job was completed, I sent the Definition Painting a bill and requested reimbursement. They replied that the cost was outrageous and suggested some alternatives. I replied that the work had been completed and I wanted to be reimbursed from the cost I incurred. They offered to pay me half of what I paid. They felt the company had intentionally overcharged me because they knew another company would be paying the bill. Since we could not come to an agreement I filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau requesting assistance getting reimbursed for the cost I incurred to correct the sub par work. When I filed the compliant I took great care in documenting the facts as they transpired. Unfortunately there was a character limitation so, I could not provide as much information as I would like. Up until this point all my communication with this company had been civil and professional. After I filed the BBB compliant, this was no longer the case. The owner?s (Karen) stated my response to their suggestions they gave when I submitted the bill to them for reimbursement of the cost I incurred was , 'I already had the work done so now you can pay me.' (She put the statement is quotes which indicates I said those exact words.) What I did say in my response was "The work is complete. I paid $1,999 to remediate the subpar work performed by your company. I expect to be reimbursed $1,999." When I responded that her statement was inaccurate she said I was lying and stated ?Be very careful. The Lord will be the final judge here?. I realize that written communication can often be misinterpreted. The reader may not interpret the tone of the words as the writer intended. Additionally, the boxes on the BBB compliant form had a character count limitation that did not allow me to provide enough detail. I could not understand why the owner stated I was lying; therefore, I called her to get clarification. She kept insisting I was lying. She also repeated that the Lord was going to be the final judge and that I should seek the Lord. At this point I realized the owner had issues that prevented her from remaining civil and professional, therefore, I ended the conversation. Explanation for Overall Rating I am giving this company an Overall rating of 'F' for the owner?s unprofessional behavior. As I stated early, the company admitted the work was done poorly and wanted to correct their mistake. I declined the offer. They even agreed to reimburse me for the cost of remediating their sub par work. If they had done the work correctly the 2nd time or reimbursed me for the cost I paid, I would have given the company a ?B? rating. If the discussion after I filed the Better Business Bureau complaint would have remained civil, I would have given them a ?C? rating. The owner?s personal attacks on me (saying I was lying) and religious proselytizing were totally uncalled for and very unprofessional. It is possible to disagree with a customer without resorting to personal attacks. A person?s choice of words is very important. Saying a person is lying is not a good business practice. A liar is a person who makes an untrue statement with intent to deceive. Just because a person makes a statement that you believe is not true does not make them a liar. The person may have a different recollection or interpretation of the events than you. A person?s faith and religious beliefs are personal. A business owner should not push their religious beliefs on the customer. Telling a customer ?The Lord will be the final judge? and to ?seek the Lord? is rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Had the exterior of a two story colonial house painted. They matched the color perfectly to what we wanted. They exceeded our expectations. They were very neat and professional, on time, and cleaned up. The painting job is fantastic! Could not be more pleased!

Joel, the owner visited our home and provided a very detailed price quote to paint our entire house including two large outdoor storage sheds. The quoted provided price, and the listing of materials to be used and a start date. We agreed to the contract terms and gave Definition's office manager, Karen, who was extremely pleasant and very professional to work with our deposit. The Definition painters led by crew chief Lionel showed up exactly the time and date as was stated in the contract. The job took well over a week to complete. The job went smooth, the painters began about 8:30 am and worked until after 7:00 pm many days. Each and every painter always had a smile on their face and were extremely professional. The quality of work was fantastic and every night before they left they cleaned our entire house. They just could't do enough to make us feel comfortable during the painting process as many of the rooms were covered completely with paper and plastic coverings for protection from any dirt and drips. During the process we found that we had two huge bee hives in our living room walls. Lionel and his staff waited for hours while we had an exterminator come and tear down part of the walls to get rid of the bees. We felt so bad because Lionel and one of his staff got stung and all they could do was smile. After the bees were gone Lionel patched the large areas with new drywall, primed and painted the walls and they looked like new. We had to have our hall way banister replaced and a new banister added to the bottom of the hallway steps. The Definition carpenters came Saturday morning, and starting from scratch they built two beautiful banisters. When the job was completed Lionel and his staff walked our house and sheds with us to insure that we were completely satisfied. The entire job was unbelievable, we will use Definition for all future painting, drywall and carpentry needs in the future. We highly recommend them to anyone who is having this type of work done whether it be interior or exterior work. Definition, you are the greatest. Thank You for a job well done.

Easy contact, easy coordination, did what they said they'd do and did it well. All the previous are reasons why Definition is my GO TO company for painting both inside and out on the 3 houses I own. I used the 3-room big Deal and worked out a fair price for the additional work which included drywall replacement in the powder room and fixing a ceiling crack upstairs.

We were happy to use definition for this job and were impressed with the quality and price. Joel was very professional and knowledgable. The estimate was prompt and they were very accommodating to various changes we requested. Workers showed up on time and worked diligently. The project was done in two phases, taping, missing and priming followed a few weeks later by final painting. Interim and final results were great and met all expectations. I would definitely use Definition again and recommend them to our friends.

They visited a couple of things with the contract and then they had to come back and look at what they were going to do. Then they forgot. They told me I hadn't have to be home. But, I was required to be home more than twice. My neighbors brought to my attention about a few places on the side that wasn't smooth. They power washed the exterior. But then, that was on a Friday. Saturday and Sunday, they were going to leave my porch furniture and everything on the outdoors on the lawn. I asked them about that and they were saying, they don't put it back after the power washing. They came back on Monday. But then, the power washers left so fast. They left the hose or whatever it is. They're still outside right where they left it. I had to pay extra for something. I had asked them whether they could paint the porch. I paid extra for that. I paid extra for paint or something. So, it ended up being a little bit more. I paid $800 extra. The price was fair. I paid what I expected to pay.

I called them to get an estimate even though I read some negative reviews about them. They have a two day email delay, but that was not even a problem for me. They came out looked at the house and started adding up the cost on a piece of scrap paper. First they stated that house will need a power wash for additional 150 bucks, then they stated "no it will be included" after that they stated that the house will need two quotes....I was surprised since the last company stated that since my original paint is in such good shape it will need only one coat of quality paint. So, for two coats of paint it will run me 3500 bucks....more then double the cost of advertised price....some people may have better luck with them, but I do not trust either the estimate nor the paint that they are claiming to use. Will definitely stay away from these guys.....

I couldn't be happier with the service provided. This was our first time hiring painters so I was extremely apprehensive, calling many companies, asking a ton of questions. Definition Painting services always answered promptly, gave me understandable explanations and were extremely professional . They arrived on time before I left for work in the morning, were extremely polite cleaned up after the day was done and closed our garage door for us. The work is gorgeous! we are so happy with the way everything looks. We are already planning what other rooms they can come back and paint for us, and I have given their number to several friends. So glad to be able to report a fantastic experience!

They were very efficient and neat. Covered the entire lower level in plastic. They were here for about 8 hours and did a beautiful job and left my home neat and tidy.

Went well. Painted 2 bedrooms and a hallway.
