It was so much better than expected. He arrived on time, got right to work and did exactly what he was hired for - what more could you ask?

Overall, it was a mixed experience. We provided the paint and they had a different crew of painters come out each time to paint 2 rooms. Actually, they never finished the job and never came back. Also, they had some paint on their hands when they moved the furniture back, and it got some paint on my couch. The end result was decent, but a little more attention to detail would have gone a long way. I actually had to point out the areas that needed touched up.

They painted the bedroom, living room and two hallways. They were on time and easy to schedule. They were efficient with their work and it was a good experience.

The painters did an outstanding job in doing a high quality painting of many rooms and kitchen in our home. They were meticulous in their painting finish, and left no mess daily or at the end of their job after several days.

No money involved or money refunded.

From day one they were scheduled 6 weeks in advance. When I tried later to find a date they were scheduled 9 weeks out. Businesses that make themselves this busy are just frustrating to deal with in my experience, especially for something like painting that you have to be home for.

Overall the guys did a great job. They arrived on time (07:40am) and were finished by 4pm. I would hire them again. The painting was neat.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It worked out fine. The painting turned out fine. Unfortunately they did some painting on items that shouldn't have been painted. There were a few spots on the floor where they dripped paint. I spent $100 more. They were professional. I would possibly use them again.

Work went great. The painters came out and spent 8 hours painting one room with high ceilings and part of a stairwell. Everything looks great. Very happy with the work.

Painters arrived on time, reviewed the work to be done and started promptly. They worked for the full time allowed, were careful to preserve surfaces not being painted, and performed their painting services in an exceptional manner. I was very pleased with the result.

It's been an awesome experience, and I can't say enough good things about them. They've been very easy and pleasant to work with, they arrived on time, and they did quality work without leaving behind any messes. They even completed the work ahead of schedule and told us to call them back if we find anything else that they can do.

There was a month between when the job was scheduled and when the job was actually done. This is ok, but it would have been nice to have had a formal confirmation closer to the date of the job. On the day the painter was supposed to show, he didnt. When I called the owner (who was always cordial and professional), he discovered painter got into an accident on route to my place. Paint job was delayed another 3 days. On the rescheduled date, painter showed up on time and ready to work.

Very responsive in setting up an appointment. Joel showed up on schedule and was very knowledgeable and professional. He described in detail the work he would perform and made several suggestions on how we could do some items less costly. The estimate was received the next business day and was detailed and professionally done. Karen and Joel were very responsive to all our follow-on questions. In the end, their estimate was very competitive for interior painting but a bit higher for the exterior work which is why we elected to use another highly rated company. However, I would not hesitate to contact Definition in the future.

Mr. Joel Alvarado (owner) arrived on Monday to provide an estimate. I was getting my condo ready to sell and was in town for only that week and I wasn't sure I could get the work completed before I left town. Joel gave me a quote (which was competitive with others I received) and indicated he should be able to have the job done on Friday and Saturday. I called him back on Tuesday and arranged to have the work done. I indicated I just wanted something "neutral" to appeal to buyers when they viewed the condo. The work included walls and ceiling (two coats) and trim painting for Living Room, Foyer, Hallway, Kitchen, two Bedrooms, Utility Room / Laundry and the Ceiling and trim in the dining room It also included removal of damaged tile and wallboard in one of the bathrooms, repair of drywall and replacement of tiles and grouting. (Water damage had caused them to fall off and some of the drywall rotted.) All of the original tiles were available for replacement. Joel's crew of 4 (mostly family as he explained it -- it's a family owned business) arrived at 9:00 AM on Friday and began laying out the floor covers and pulling picture hangers, etc. out of the walls. They spackled nail holes, repaired nail pops in the ceiling, spackled 'settling' cracks and caulked where needed. They were very tidy and clean in performing this. They worked through until about 6:30 PM. They arrived early on Saturday (I wasn't there - I had given them a key) and when I got there around 11:00 AM, they had completed first coat on all rooms and were starting second coat. Everything looked very good. The bathroom wall repair had just begun. I had to leave to return to Michigan at around 4:00 and left my friend / neighbor to do the final walk-through inspection and final payment. I admit I was concerned about the wall repair since I wouldn't be there to inspect it and it seemed that they were starting quite late. My realtor expressed concern as well because if it wasn't done well, it would be a major stumbling block in the selling process. My realtor called me on Monday and was just gushing about the excellent job they had done overall and how nice the bathroom was!! She was also impressed with how well they had cleaned up after themselves when they were done. The entire experience was extremely satisfactory, from the detail of the quote, the commitment to completing the work on my schedule, the quality of the work, the professionalism of the crew and the final result. I would not hesitate in recommending Definition Painting Services.

I can't believe how unprofessionally this company is run. I inquired about one of their deals ($450 for 2 interior painters for a day), and left a message since nobody was there. A woman eventually called back and said they weren't honoring the deal - even though it was still active on Angie's List! Her "excuse" was that they had requested the website remove the deal... but in my opinion, if it's still available, the company should honor it. It's dishonest to advertise a service - essentially hooking in customers -and then claim it's no longer available. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

They only did half the work. They work they did was poor quality and they did not sand properly. I spoke with one of the painters and he told me he could come the next day at 8:30 am for $55 an hour. The next day he did not show up so I called Definition Painting and they told me they were unaware that I set something up for them to come out the next day. I would not recommend them to anyone. I hired another painter to finish the work.

The experience was very good. They did the job. They arrived on time and they stayed later than I thought it would take them. They did a very good job. I paid extra than the big deal.

On the day of my appointment, which had been twice confirmed by the company, no painters showed up during the allotted window. Assuming they may be running late I waited an hour to call the company and when I did, the gentleman stated that he was new and that although my name and appointment appeared in the book kept by the office manager I did not make the dispatch list for the day. Very frustrating!! The appointment was rescheduled for the following day. And once the painter came they got straight to work and during the day painted a bedroom, closet, and bathroom. The paint looks very good. In short, I was a decent experience and would have been great if the painters showed up on the appointed day.

The men who arrived were on time and professional. Given it was a day's worth of work, I didn't have a clear sense of how much they could do - so I gave them my priority work and then said that if they had additional time they could do these additional places. To be fair, in retrospect I see that I wasn't 100% clear on my preferences, and so this perhaps isn't their fault. But I felt that if one area was said to be priority, it shoudl have been done properly first, then the other areas done second. Instead they did everything with only one coat of paint (thereby saving time on the priority areas and getting at least some done in the secondary areas), which meant that I did not have a single area completely finished. One room I just left - it was fine but it did not look as good as I would have liked it to. The other areas I had to put a second coat of paint on myself (there were big patches that didn't have enough paint on them and the colour below showed through. Though I left my number for them to call if they had questions, they didn't call. Overall I wasn't happy with what I was left with, though I understand that it was partially my fault for not being totally, 100% clear.

This was a positive experience. They came to evaluate rooms first, discussed paint quality, they also fixed a bathroom holder for me and cleaned up when they were done.

I can not say enough good things about Joel and his crew! I will start at the beginning. I contacted Definition Painting Services after seeing the wonderful reviews on Angie's list. Joel contacted me right away to set up a time to come to my home and give me an estimate. He was on time for the estimate, walked through the areas, and checked the condition of the walls, and trim to see how much work needed to be done. He gave me a written estimate that day. I called Joel within 2 days to schedule the painters, and they were able to start painting the following week. The workers showed up on time, were professional and were great at their job. It took about a half a day of wall prep, but they really made sure the walls looked great to take paint. They also did a great job of covering the floors and making sure paint did not get on anything other than the walls. Then they worked all day and the next day! They painted 2 whole rooms, including ceilings, moulding and trim. 2 hallways, up a stairway, and all the doors in this area. (FYI there were 12 doors in this area) I cannot believe how much they got done in 2 days. If I were to do all that painting, it would take at least 3 weeks. The paint job itself is fantastic. Very clean lines, no drips, very very happy with the work. Just an FYI, I did provide my own paint, but they can provide paint if you need. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would not only recommend Definition Painting Services, I will most likely use them again.

It worked out great! They came out within a week or so after the deal was purchased. He wasn't finished, so I had him stay another hour which was an additional $55. Just one guy came out and he was great. The deal was great, but $55 for an hour of painting I thought was a little steep. I think he came out on time.

.I am rating the work done by the painters as all "A's". If I could give them "A+'s", I would do so. They worked non-stop, for more than the 8 hours that we had booked. We paid only an additional $55 for the extra time. The quality of their work is exceptional. They took time prepping, covered the floors, kitchen counters, tops of the bannister. The brush strokes, and roller strokes are very good. Since our woodwork now looks dingy, next to the beautifully painted walls, I have just made a return visit appointment for next week, for them to return and apply their magic to other places.

The service turned out good. I purchased 3 hours, and he got most of the wall paper removed, but not all of it, and so I purchased an additional hour. It was a real messy and difficult job, and he got the job. It would have probably taken me a couple of days. I thought the price was very reasonable.

I think there was a language barrier. I sent them a letter about some of the issues and they came out with the letter but only addressed about half of the problems. I pointed them out to him.
