I talked with 3 roofing companies based on Angie's List recommendations. I felt comfortable that I would get good service from all, but this company stood out in pricing and its professional approach to the job. The contract laid out all of the work they would do and left very little for me to question. They were at the house on time, were careful in their work, and left no signs of having been there but a great new roof. The roofing was done with two infants snoozing a floor below. My only little issue was whether they have the best gutter guard system. But it was right priced for our needs. I would also be sure to ask for the gutters to be flushed before adding any gutter guards. (I didn't ask them to do that but it probably should have been raised.)

They were professional and polite. They were very punctual. He was very organized. He had a computer in the truck and could give me an estimate on the spot.

I chose this company because of the excellent ratings that they had on Angie's List. I was impressed that the owner came out to give me an estimate and he gave me a written one on the spot. The crew was extremely nice and professional. The crew worked while I was at work and completed the job in 2 days (as promised). pon finishing, the crew cleaned my lawn and left as if they had never been there. After the job was complete I noticed that the flat portion did not match the color of the shingles. According to Tom, they used a lighter color because it was a flat roof and he thought that it could not be seen. Unfortunately, my flat roof is slanted and it can be seen from the street. I called Tom about the color and he (very nicely) offered to change the color within a day. This was absolutely the best experience that I have had with a contractor. And, the roof looks great! The price ended up being about $72 more than originally estimated because of damaged wood that was not accounted for.

Using this company to replace my aging hip roof with 3 dormers was amazing. My first impression was favorable when the owner, Thomas Keehn, showed up 5 minutes earlier than our appointed time for the estimate. He's very easy-going and personable, so it was not difficult to tell him what I wanted. Then he examined my roof, made some suggestions as to shingle color, etc. and gave me an estimate. The estimate was a little higher than expected, but this was largely due to the replacement of two skylights ($1100). I liked the fact that Certified guaranteed these for 10 years since skylights always have a tendency to leak. The original job time frame was pushed back on two occasions due to rain. But finally, we had a break in the weather and Tom's team showed up at 7:15 in the morning. That first day, they worked until 7:00pm. The next day they appeared around 7:30ish and by the time I arrived home from work at 5:00pm, they had completely finished and cleaned up everything! I was totally amazed. Even my retired neighbors commented on how hard and quick this team worked. There was one incident where some roofing material had dropped through the skylight into my bedroom while being replaced. But Tom called me as soon as it happened to let me know. I was expecting old shingles and wood splinters, but it only turned out to be some dirt and drywall from the skylight. I really appreciated the heads-up from Tom though. Of course, the real test of a roof came later that weekend when we had a deluge of rain showers. I looked for any drips or leaks that might be coming through, but didn't see any. Their cleanup was spectacular too! I was a little worried about hitting a roofing nail while mowing my yard. I did find a few loose ones, but none in the grass. Would definitely recommend using this company to anyone!

The big problem I found with this company was communication. When they originally called me to set up a meeting with Tom Keehn the phone line was so bad I could barely hear. After meeting Tom and discussing the job I was reassured, and the price he gave me was more reasonable than several other companies. Plus Tom was brief and to the point and didn't spend hours trying to sell me on his company. But a day before the job was scheduled to begin I hadn't heard from anyone at the company, despite a phone call. A letter and fax I had sent with the signed contract with some concerns went unanswered. When I went to look at the site after the first day the workers didn't speak English and didn't understand that I wanted the chimney removed. After the job was done I had to call and ask why the fourth downspout wasn't added, as Tom had originally recommended. And despite promising they would magnetize the yard, I found several nails lodged in the lawn mower a few days later.

They came with a very professional estimate when they said they would. They scheduled the work, estimated for 1 day, within 7 days of contract acceptance. Delivered materials, except for 1 of the sky tunnels, the day before the job was to begin. They showed up on time, were very professional and basically completed the entire job in 1 day with the exception of 1 of the sky tunnels. They were having problems finding a second one of the sky tunnels I ordered. They returned the 2nd day with a sky tunnel and finished the job. The clean up was excellent because the wind was blowing quite hard the day they stripped the old roof and put the new roof on. Debris blew all over the neighborhood on my lawn and several of my neighbors lawns. They got it all.

I'm more than satisfied and would recommend their services in a heart beat.

Very professional with good communication throughout. We went with them because their price was competitive and their overall presentation was the most professional. Once we authorized the work and all of the materials were available, they started work right away. We did have a slight delay in ultimately finishing the front porch roof, but that too was handled quickly once we got everyone on the right page.

We had an original 65-year-old roof. Certified removed all the old shingles, installed new water proof membranes, new shingles, rehung the gutters and installed screens on them all in one day. They were the lower bidder, they recognized that the gutters were still in good shape and said they could be rehung instead of replaced as opposed to the other bidders who recommended replacing our copper gutters with aluminum gutters. The crew that did the work were professional, friendly and hard working. Although removing the old shingles resulted in many of them shattering upon hitting the ground, the clean up at the end of the job was amazing. We can't emphasize that enough. They was no trace of the old shingles and no damage to the plantings around the house. At the time of the estimate they did an outstanding job of explaining what they would do and why and gave us a variety of choices of shingles. They did not require a deposit, we were told we could pay after the first rainfall.

This company was excellent to work with. They provided a fair price, and overall included more standard features in their price than the six other companies we had estimates from. They were not the cheapest, however when we did the comparables with other companies what they included other companies were charging an extra 200-300 dollars for, which would than make Certified less expensive. The staff is knowledgeable and gets back to you RAPIDLY. They completed the job within about a week of the estimate. I sent the contract in on a Friday, and they did our roof the following Wednesday. Quick turnaround! I highly recommend them.

Tom from Certified was the first of 4 of Angie's List top performers who I contacted for estimates. My 20-year old roof was leaking after another contractor (not on Angie's List) inadequately installed three new skylights the previous month. After a careful examination of my roof Tom provided an on-the-spot computerized estimate of the cost to replace it. He provided itemized specifics of the replacement, included two options, listed a price incentive for contracting within 3 weeks, and a price reduction for being on Angie's List. Tom also promised to match in price any competitor who said he could do the same work for a lower price & provided a checklist to make this comparison easy. Love the checklist. Although the other 3 agreed to meet Tom's list/price, I was more comfortable with Tom's professionalism & knowing the bottom line up front - I don't like to haggle. His crew arrived the next week on time as scheduled & did a great job from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Job was on time and on budget; work performed by professional and courteous team, who cleaned up well after themselves. No complaints; very pleased.

Certified was the best company overall and gave the best price. Some other roofers required us to deal with the air conditioning units or the satellite etc. But his company takes care of all of that. His price was very competitive and he offers a 10-year labor warranty as well as a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. The job did get delayed a couple days because of rain, but I expected that as it rained nonstop last week. They are putting on the roof today and so far have been very courteous and accommodating. We did have an issue with our tree. Once we expressed our concern, they took care to cut as little as possible. I had five roofers come out and do an estimate and Certified, by far, gave the best price for the most amount of work and offered a 10-year labor warranty to back up his work. I would definitely recommend that you go with this roofer if you have a flat roof in DC or any other roof.

Mr. Keehan arrived quite promptly, was personable and professional. I have been having problems with my flat roof and knew there 2 to three areas where the wood was rotten underneath the rubber coating. Mr. Keehan said he could not repair just parts of the roof, because he believed the whole roof needed to be replaced. He presented a very professional folder with sample of products he would use and reference letters about his work. I was very impressed with his presentation and knowledge. After several more estimates from Angie's List companies, I met with a roofing professional who advised to not replace areas that were not damaged and to just replace wood and rubber in the areas that needed it. Had I not received that advice, I would have chosen Mr. Keehan. The estimate was for $14300.

I called on Monday, at that time they said there was an estimator in the area, but I wasn't home. They made an appointment for this Monday at 9:30. I left my son at home, is an adult. He said that he received a call at 9:45 or 10:00 that said the estimator couldn't get there, asked about tomorrow. I called him back and told him we could do it if emergency/ necessary. He showed up to the wrong address. He said he would come by. He said nobody told him that there was no access from the inside of the house, which I've told each estimator. Told them to bring ladder. He said he couldn't get his truck to my house because of the construction, but there's access to our street on both ends and parking on both sides of the street. Mail and other deliveries haven't had any trouble with it. Without looking at roof, or getting information for my son, he gave an estimate $4500 higher than the other estimate. They seem to not want my business, and not professional.

They were unbelievable. They guy who put the siding on worked during an ice storm. I was very impressed by that. They are very hard workers and they completed the job no matter what.

Certified did a great job, even my usually picky husband was pleased! They arrived right on schedule and they were pleasant and worked quickly. I was also very impressed with the meticulous clean up, making sure there were no nails left in the yard for our cars to run over.

All aspects from estimating to competing the installation was done professionally.

We are very very happy with the new look of our house. Certified helped us select an excellent siding material. The person who installed the siding was unbelievable dedicated and skilled. He worked through an ice and snow storm, building complicated scaffolding to reach difficult area. Can't say enough.
