Description of Work: Initial consult/estimate was good, but I just couldn’t label it as great. And that feeling actually encapsulated my entire experience with Best Buy very well. The inspector was on time, friendly, and seemed knowledgeable/experienced. However, the inspection took roughly 75 minutes and easily could have been done in sub-30. I appreciate a bit of friendly chatting, but this was excessive in the middle of a work day. Also a few statements confidently made that were not backed up. More on that below. The crew was punctual and friendly. They also worked quite hard and finished the job in great time. That said, I was explicitly told by the inspector that the crew doesn’t need to drive the trailer and truck onto our lawn. He said if they ask to pull around, tell them no. But he also said they shouldn’t even pose the question. Within 30 minutes of starting the job, both truck and trailer were backed around side of the house without asking me. There isn’t significant damage, but there are absolutely still clear tracks a few days later. And frankly it’s the principal that bothered me most. Told one thing and another happens. Additionally the pump cover was sloppily installed and they need to return to fix that. Throw in 3 or 4 water/soda bottles left scattered in the driveway and backyard, and I wasn’t thrilled. All in all, I felt like a few statements made were not really backed up.. Inspector told me not the drill a hole in the blocks in the wall because “there is standing water on the other side, 100%”. Crew the next day drilled holes all along the wall to drain and said not a drop of water came out of anywhere. “They won’t drive on your lawn” and within 30 min they are. “I’m sending you my best crew” and they leave soda bottles scattered around, drive on the yard, and need to return to fix the incorrectly installed cover. Do I think the overall work was done well? I do. Would I hire them again? I would at least call. But I honestly expected better from them based on reviews and was somewhat underwhelmed. UPDATE (04/07/20): After seeing I was a bit frustrated with a few items listed in my review, I received a personal call from the owner Andrew. He was everything you would hope from a business owner in a situation like this: sincere, apologetic, and determined to make it right. He came out to our home personally with a crew and they fixed every issue. I told him the reason I chose Best Buy Waterproofing in the first place was their glowing reputation, and it was a situation like mine that made me so thankful I did that. He handled the minor criticisms I shared with class and humility, and I couldn't recommend their operation more.

+ -1 moreThe crew began the work on Wednesday, July 17 and finished it on Friday, July 19, 2019. The team, composed of the foreman, John Kolinsky, Tony White, John Kolinsky, Jr., and Teno, arrived promptly on the first day and each subsequent day. They worked without pause for eight to nine hours and accomplished a significant amount of work each day. Each member of the team clearly knew what their responsibility was and performed it with precision and accuracy. They were polite and professional in their interactions with us. Mr. Kolinsky managed the team with expertise. He responded to the hundreds of questions my parents and I posed with patience, even though he had to repeat the same information more than once. He walked us through the area and explained each step. I very much appreciated the fact that he and his team were willing to accommodate my 90-year-old father’s constant presence, questions, recommendations, and comments. They made him feel that he had control over what was happening to his property and I very much appreciate their thoughtfulness and patience. In addition, they kindly accommodated our requests for space, internet access, walk throughs, etc. Due to the very quick turnaround on the job, we were not able to move the oil and water tanks, limiting the crew’s ability to waterproof the wall behind the tanks. Mr. Kolinsky explained our options to us and, after coming to agreement with Rich to share the cost of any potential future water damage from the wall behind the tanks, we agreed on a resolution, which they implemented. They completed the entire project in three days, within the highest standards of professionalism, timeliness, and quality. They left the basement clean and in great shape. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr. Kolinsky and his team. It is very difficult to have your basement completely taken over, dug out, and redone. It is especially hard when you are older, unaware of what may or may not happen, and feeling vulnerable after damage to your basement. Mr. Kolinsky and his team truly made the process seamless and painless and for that I can’t thank them enough. It is because of the work that Mr. Kolinsky and his team did that I would recommend Best Buy Waterproofing without reservation.

I recently hired them for a water issue in one of my rental properties. They were prompt, courteous, and went above and beyond the initial contract. The owner Andrew came out to the house twice and met with me to see how things were going. The crew was mindful of the tenants in the home and completed the job within the specified time frame. Definitely would recommend this company to anyone in need of Waterproofing services.

He offered me a huge rebate check and told him it was not about the cost, but how the ad can be perceived (it was by me) as a fake ad. I wouldn't even have written the review if I hadn't seen the ad still up and running 4 weeks later. He said he got it, and re examining the ad, he could see it was misleading and said he would pull ad. He did. He asked me to change my review and I said I would. I believe he gets it now. He really was upset over this and told me this is not who he is. I believe he now gets that integrity is all he has and I was pleased that he agreed to remove the ad. The company did do a good job, everything about Best Buy Waterproofing was fine they did quality work, was professional- the ad was my only real problem with them, and now that they fixed it, I am happy to update my review.

The job was physically demanding, mostly because of the small space. Good crew. Timely project completion and excellent cleanup. Quality Product / Quality Service - Very clean, they were professional. Efficient installation. The workers were courteous and took time to explain reason for length of time to do work, etc... Hard workers - they deserve a raise! Have told a lot of peoples and friends about your company.

I had a lot of questions and he took the time to answer and was very patient. I feel they saved us a lot of time and money because we didn't have to excavate. If you believe you have a foundation problem, Best Buy Waterproofing is the company to call.

We had discussed offering an old piano that the previous owners had left in the house to his crew, but when they weren't interested, he still helped get it hauled out of the house, along with some old cabinetry that was molded. He even followed me to the dump with a load full of the wood remains, and this was not even close to being included in the contract I signed. So yes, if you need this work done I don't think you can find a company more dedicated to customer satisfaction than this one.
