Adcocks Trapping Service

Bob arrived at 0730 this morning to check the attic for an infestation of bats. In all honesty my mother and I were anticipating some for of negative outcome and we both were left speechless when Bob reported there was no infestation or immediate signs showing the bats have taken up residence. I have now been a member of Angie's List for about 3 months and I have used 3 referrals from the list. Each and every time I have been so utterly impressed and amazed with the level of professionalism. Adcock's Trapping exceeded every value one would use to evaluate service. Thank you again for being there today and while I hate pests I surely would not mind working with you in the future.

As far as I know, I haven't heard any mice so the work was done properly. I wasn't pleased with the initial appointment. They didn't show up for our first scheduled meeting, and didn't call or apologize for missing. I had to call back to reschedule. He didn't leave any paperwork of what was done either.

We had been hearing scratching / gnawing noises in the attic space above our bedroom for several weeks, especially early morning and during the afternoon. Once we were really convinced that some kind of animal was actually inside the attic rather than just on the roof we called Adcocks. Someone came out within a couple of days and looked inside the attic space and confirmed that several squirrels were getting in and out through a chew hole they had made in a front corner of the roof. Traps were set near the chew hole and then someone came every day (except Mondays?) to check the traps and remove any trapped squirrels. Every time the traps were checked a note was left at our front door with an update of whether an animal had been caught and the status of the traps - we really liked this feature because it kept us up to date and we knew someone had been to check. This continued for two weeks until a total of 5 squirrels were caught! After we got a final note that the traps had been clear for 3 days we were notified that the traps had been removed. And then there was no more communication, which was odd because we had requested to have preventative screens installed around our roof and attic fans - we were unsure if this had been done or not? After about 2 weeks of not hearing anything I eventually called the Adcocks office to ask if this additional work had been done. I talked to someone who had a screaming child in the background (which made it hard to hear) and she said that a technician would be coming on a particular date to do the additional work. Why this was not communicated to us earlier and more directly was strange since communication had been so excellent during the trapping process. That is why I gave a "C" rating for responsiveness. Other than that, we are very pleased with the outcome and the technicians that came out were very professional and friendly, so we would definitely recommend Adcocks to other customers. They are a bit pricey (hence my B rating), but they got the job done and we are noise free in our attic!

We were having a squirrel issue- they were chewing into the side of the exterior of the house to nest! YIKES!! Adcock's set traps and removed 8 squirrels. They fixed the hole in the fascia of the house trim so it wouldn't happen again. LOVE THESE GUYS A guy would come every morning to check the traps. If it was full, he would take it and replace with a fresh one! It was easy. Very professional, very humane treatment of the animals! Good value for money!! Will use them again.

If I had known the animals would be put to sleep I would not have hired them.

After the traps had been set, with 8 hours of setting, the groundhog was captured. However, since it was late at night when I called for someone to pickup the animal, I got no response. There were 2 large dogs in the area that heard the cry from the groundhog and attacked his cage.. I had to fight off the dogs to save the groundhog's life ?? All in all, effective removal of ground hog.. Should have a plane for pick up of pests after hours to avoid same situation again..

Clint arrived on-time and listened to me describe the problem, explained in clear detail the inspection and approach he would take, and then explained, with no pressure, the recommended remediation (which was to secure exterior points of entry) and left a detailed explanation of the recommendation. I intend to use them for the recommended service ($595).

My wife and I had been hearing clawing sounds and animal squeaking above our 2nd story bedroom for a couple of weeks and decided to call someone to take a look. I called Adcock's because of other reviews and liked the idea of a trapping service opposed to an exterminator. The technician called 30 minutes before his arrival and showed up right in the middle of the service time window scheduled with his office a few days prior. He was very mindful of the carpet and wore foot coverings over his boots while in the house. He performed a thorough inspection in the attic and let me know what he was looking for so I could better understand how he would come to a conclusion. There were a couple of places he wanted to check on the outside of the house and up on the roof. During the roof inspection, he discovered that the animal squeaking we were hearing was actually some loose siding panels on that side of the house. He reached down over the top of the roof and shook them as would happen in high winds and it made the exact noise we had been hearing, sounding exactly like an animal. Also, the underside of the shingles that overhang the roof had loose bits of material that would flap in the wind, as well. Those made a sound much like the clawing noises we heard. In the end, he said our roof and gutter system was well put together and he didn't see any spots where an animal could enter. He said he could put a trap or two in the attic but he suspected nothing would come of it. I really appreciated his honesty and willingness to go the extra mile. He didn't try to upsell unnecessary services but made sure I knew if it would give me some peace of mind, he'd oblige. So the visit basically ended with me being shown that my house makes noises (lol). If a critter ever does find its way up into my attic, Adcock's is the first place I'm going to call. His professionalism made that a $95.00 check I was happy to write.

The crew was polite, efficient. Did their work very professionally. I had had this work done a couple of years earlier (by a service that was not listed on Angie's List; I learned my lesson), spent almost as much money, and wasn't at all satisfied. The squirrels returned almost immediately. This time, with Adcock's all is quiet, no more scratching in the attic.

I would give them an A on everything except cost. I thought it was expensive. I would use them but I would also get another estimate. They really knew what they were doing.

Thought that the services were well performed. They recommended measures to keep mice from entering home again. The cost of these recommendations is RIDICULOUSY high. I would love to find someone who can perform this work for a reasonable price.

The provider was very knowledgable. We would use them again.

It's very complicated because bats are protected in Maryland. They had to do some very complicated work to remove them. I'm sure they're used to it but it was still a very delicate process. They came in a very timely fashion and weren't intrusive at all. They followed up with us about a week after they came out without us having to ask them to and we're just as happy as can be. They also left a note to say that they'd been by.

Today the work was performed by a two man crew. Eric and Jake were terrific. They were professional and thorough. Eric explained what he was doing and why. I am more than pleased with their work. I would most definitely recommend Adcock Trapping services, and I would not hesitate to call them for any future needs. Thank you for taking such good care of me today.

I think his name was Dean showed up when he said he would be here. He went into the attic and saw where the squirrel was coming in and also discovered a HUGE amount of dried grass that birds had been bringing in. Checked for damage to wires and there wasn't any. He explained the procedure, putting three baited traps on the roof and waiting to se if they catch anything. Agreed to the service and the traps were set. Caught that sucker the first night and it was only one. They left the traps up there for about a week and would check them every day. Tape was put over the vent holes so any tampering would be evident. After about a week they returned to put the mesh over the holes.

It went well. They eradicated the pest. We called them the second time for another issue. They were timely. I think they exactly did it in a timely manner. When the guy finished, he said it will be $200. I said, "No, I believe it's $99." He apologized. He wasn't even aware that it was an Angie's List call. It was a good price. They were responsive. They were here on time. We got a snake in the house. We killed the snake and got rid of the snake so they were not able to tell us where the snake had come from. If they had found everything, it would have been an A. They were pretty good for the price. They deal a wide range of pest.

I was in need of service immediately and expected to be called back when I left my name, number, and purpose of the service. I heard nothing from them.

The guy was nice enough and punctual, but according to him nothing is able to be done since we live in a townhome. Maybe it was too much work? I don't know, but we have rats in the attic now even though he says he saw no entry point. I do believe that the crossover problem is very much real, but something should be able to be done! I mean there are tons of people who live in town homes and row houses. Basically I feel that the company wasn't interested in helping.

We had an open sewer vent due to faulty plumbing during a basement renovation. We suspected rats because we heard noises ibetween the basement ceiling and first floor. We called another (highly rated on this list) pest control company and they had no idea how rats were getting in and wanted to sell us a maintenance contract. Adcock, on the other hand, came and diagnosed the problem and set out traps in the basement wall. Later they came back and ran a test to determine how the rats were getting in -- an unclosed sewer vent. They returned again, to run another test to demonstrate the open vent to the contractor. Without Adock's work, I do not think we would have been able to find the source of the opening. Adcock was highly responsive and professional. This was a difficult problem to solve and one that was quite stressful. We were impressed with their knowledge and experience, technique, and competence. We recommend them very highly.

They did very well, I would definitely recommend them. Very nice, I only have nice things to say about them. They made that there was no way for them to get back in. He was very informative and explained what he was going to do before he did it. He let me know that if I ever need anything to give him a call.

We had heard noises in the attic, so I went up with a flashlight and saw a raccoon looking back at me. This was around 8:30 or 9:00 PM on a weeknight. Adcock's was the third pest control (or trapping) service I called, and the only one to answer the phone at that time. I was able to make an appointment for the next day, saving me the trouble of calling in the morning and trying to get an appointment the same day. I appreciated very much being able to deal with the problem after hours and put it out of my mind. Our primary technician was Chris. He was friendly, helpful, and did everything he said he was going to do. Chris placed and baited a trap on the roof near the attic fan, which he determined was the raccoon's entry point. Chris also put tape on and around the fan so he could tell if the raccoon came and went during the night (by fur stuck on the tape). Chris checked back each day, and finally, on the Monday after a weekend, he determined our visitor had departed for good... most likely after I went up and startled him with the flashlight. Chris went ahead and put a metal mesh band around the attic fan (previously it had a flimsy plastic mesh, which the raccoon demolished), but didn't charge us the standard $150 for that work since no raccoon had actually been caught. Overall, we had a very positive experience with Adcock's and Chris. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. That being said, I don't really know if their costs are comparable to others... but given that they placed a trap, returned every weekday to check it, and sealed the entry point, I don't think $400 is unreasonable.

It was pretty good. I would recommend using them.

We were very pleased with Adcocks. The electrical wires that the squirrels had damaged had been repaired, but they were still living between the ceiling and roof. Adcocks responded quickly to our call, came by daily at the time they said they would be there, to remove the squirrels and rebait the traps until the squirrels were all gone (about 5 days) and then they closed up the squirrels' access points. We've had no further problems. The Adcocks personnel were knowledgeable, personable, and reliable; we would highly recommend them.

We had a loud scratching noise in our kitchen on a Saturday night and needed to have emergency service to trap the raccoon that had found it's way in as it was digging through the drywall. We call Adcock's Trapping based on the Angie's list reviews and they came on Sunday morning. They found the location where the raccoon was entering and set up traps to capture it. Once the traps were set, they came by every day to check. On the 4th day, the raccoon was caught. When they came to remove the raccoon, they sealed the entrances and fixed the damage caused by the raccoon. They also inspected the house to determine any other possible entrances at later times. Everything was done timely and professionally. We would recommend them to others who have the same issues.
