DJ's Painting & Power Washing

They gave me an estimate, set a date and showed up when they said they would. They did a great job of working around me, as I work from home. The job was done very well.

This is the fourth and most challenging project we have placed in DJ's Painting and Power Washing's miracle working hands. They painted every inch of the entire lower level of our home which went years without attention at an incredibly fast pace. Always on time and always putting in a full productive day. Wall patching, trim replacement and installation of a new bathroom drywall ceiling all completed quickly and to perfection. From their fair estimate through working under difficult challenging conditions, we could not be happier with the results. What an incredible difference someone with such professionalism, knowledge of their craft and honest work ethic can make. Would we have them do a fifth project for us? Absolutely! Thank you Derrick, another job well done!

I selected DJ’s Painting & Power Washing to paint my home on a recommendation by an employee at a major paint company store. Great decision. All aspects of the work by owner Mr. Derrick Spears and his crew were totally professional. They did more than I expected from start to finish, from their expert prep work, including covering all furniture and fixtures, fixing pop outs, drywall strips and spackling to even applying two coats of paint on all walls including the 18-foot walls in the foyer and great room and each day ended with thorough clean-up. Best of all, it was reasonably priced for such excellent work. Given Mr. Spears top-notch and efficient work, I’ve already scheduled to have the entire exterior of my home power-washed by his company.

This provider is terrible at answering their phone or returning phone calls when messages are left. Also they scheduled an appointment and were 40 minutes late which cut into another appointment I had scheduled so we rescheduled. Then for the reschedule they never showed up and didn't return my phone calls. Basically I wasted two solid days on this company and will never work with them again.

We are planning to sell our house and it was in dire need of a good power washing. The house has some very high peaks that make doing any washing from the ground difficult. We looked around for different companies to use and, after some research, we decided to go with DJ's. DJ's wasn't the cheapest but they came out to the estimate. Other companies used an alternative way rather than coming out to provide the estimate. This may be acceptable for them but I like the personal attention and, after speaking with Derrick, we came to an agreement on price, time frame, and service to be performed. We got a good vibe from him and he even offered some advice on other questions we had (not related to the job at hand). They were very accommodating to our schedule. They power washed the house/deck on the first visit and did an exceptional job. The house, deck, porch, patio, and sidewalk looked great when they left! They came back a couple weeks later to stain the deck. They had drop cloths to cover the patio to prevent over spray and made a plan before they started. The deck was a little dirty (from the trees thanks to the forest that surrounds us) and they blew it clean before even starting The workmanship is great. Derrick and his team are very professional, personable, fair, and friendly. When they were done, they stayed a little longer to chat rather than taking the money and speeding off. Derrick also helped me save a little money by telling my in advance of the fees I'd have to pay if I used a credit card. If I need a painter, I know who I'm calling too. Very satisfied with the service received!

What can I say? D.J. and his team remind me of scarecrows - because they are outstanding in their field!! We hired them to paint three rooms in our rental property. The first room was the kitchen, which was covered with wall paper that was all the rage back in 1975, when the house was built. Lots of cabinets and things to work around; lots of "cutting" as far as painting goes. DJ and his team removed the wall paper, sanded the walls and primed and painted the walls with a color we chose. They also did the same thing in the master bathroom - removed old wall paper and sanded, primed and painted the walls and ceiling. They also painted the master bedroom. It all looks FAN-TAS-TIC. When we walk into these rooms now, it is like walking into a brand-new house. This was a clean, sharp paint job with a lot of attention paid to detail, and they left the house as clean as they found it. Although they had told us to plan for a two-day project, they did the entire thing in one day. Unbelievable. Also, DJ is very pleasant to deal with. Absolutely will not hesitate to hire them again. Worth every penny!!!

I contacted Derrick via Angie's list and he was extremely responsive to follow up with an email and schedule a free estimate. He walked me through the repairs to my drywall and gave some suggestions as well. He provided his estimate the next day via a phone call and it was in line with what I was expecting to pay. A few days later I signed and returned the contract via email and waited for Derrick to find an available spot in his schedule. I wasn't in a big rush, but since Derrick busy he couldn't fit me in for several months - not a big deal for me but his great work really is in demand! The day of work, Derrick and his team showed up promptly at 8am and began working right away. They took great care to move any cover any furniture I wasn't able to move as well as remove all of the wall plates and light fixtures. The team of three completed all the drywall and painting work in a day and a half; which I thought was really fast! The work all looks very good and I'm happy my walls are no longer a drab white. The team cleaned up after themselves very well and were extremely respectful and courteous to me (and my dog) while they were in the house. I would definitely use this company again for drywall and painting and I'm interested in trying their power washing service in the future.

Went very well, very happy I found this company. They did a great job with the power washing and painting, my house looks brand new again. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again for my future needs. They even got the work done sooner than promised. All A's in my book. Derrick is a great guy to work with, he even took a hidden chip of my siding to have the paint mix for the foundation match up exactly. MY HUSBAND & I ARE MEMBERS OF ANGIE'S LIST. WHEN LOOKING FOR TOP OF THE LINE CONTRACTORS, WE KNOW WE CAN FIND A CONTRACTOR TO ADDRESS OUR NEEDS. THERE WAS A LIST OF MANY FOR THE WORK WE NEEDED BUT OUT OF ALL OF THEM ~DJ'S PAINTING & POWER WASHING STOOD OUT ABOVE THE REST. THE COMPANY IS OWNED BY DERRICK J. SPEARS I MADE THE CALL, SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE. MR. SPEARS CAME RIGHT OUT~LOOKED AT EACH PROJECT ON OUR LIST AND ADDRESSED EACH ONE IN LENGTH. HE EXPLAINED WHAT HE WOULD DO TO ADDRESS EACH ONE AND THAT HE WOULD RESTORE OUR HOME, DECK,SHEDS & CONCRETE ISSUES AND IT WOULD LOOK LIKE NEW. THE ESTIMATE WAS VERY REASONABLE ! HE PENCILED US IN ON HIS VERY BUSY CALENDAR. HE CAME OUT WITH HIS ASSISTANT ON OCTOBER 1,2015. THEY POWER WASHED THE ENTIRE HOUSE, TWO SHEDS, THE DECK,, THE FRONT PORCH, SIDEWALKS, TWO DRIVEWAYS AND THE SIDEWALKS IN FRONT OF OUR HOME NEAR THE STREET AND WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE PARTS OF OUR 6 FOOT PRIVACY FENCE WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED ALL THE AREAS POWER WASHED LOOKED NEW AND EVEN THE WINDOWS SPARKLED. SINCE THE DECK WOULD HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE APPLYING THE SUPER DECK SOLID STAIN, THEY LEFT AND RETURNED NOVEMBER 3, 2015 TO APPLY THE FIRST COAT TO THE DECK. THE CAULKING AND PAINTING THE TRIM AROUND THE FRONT DOOR . ONE COAT OF PAINT ON THE DECK ON NOVEMBER 3, 2015 THE SECOND COAT ON NOVEMBER 4,2015~HE USED THE VERY BEST DECK STAIN AS WE REQUESTED AND THE COLOR MATCHED OUR HOME AND ITS SO VERY MUCH BETTER THAN WE EXPECTED ! OUR HOME, THE SHEDS THE DECK~THEY LOOK AMAZING ! MR. SPEARS IS VERY VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWS HIS JOB VERY WELL !HE IS VERY POLITE,AND HE TAKES THE TIME TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO YOU. HE ASSURES YOU THAT IF YOU HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS IN THE PAST ~THAT ALL THAT~ STOPS WITH HIM & HIS COMPANY ! These guys ? three of them -- did a fantastic job. Responded to my call for an estimate the same day and were at my house the following day. The estimate itself came within a few days. I believe the estimate was competitive. They couldn?t schedule me for about a month, but actually did the power washing a week earlier, which took one full day. They also power washed my deck, garage apron, and garage door (inside & out) gratis. They spent one day prepping as per contract: Prior to any painting being done, any areas where needed, were caulked with an oil based cedar colored caulk. They spent two days painting as per contract: Apply a tack coat followed by a full strength coat of Behr Transparent Wood Finish to all the siding around the exterior of the home. Cedar Natural Tone, color chosen by customer. (I changed my mind on the type of stain to be used ? it cost more ? they did not charge me extra). Apply stain on home with a spray with a back brush. Paint side door, along with door jamb, with one (1) coat, semi-gloss, white. I have some interior painting to be done and will definitely have DJ's Paining & Power Washing do it.

We used DJ on two occasions..May and June 2015. The estimate was accurate, the work was excellent and we felt comfortable with his team in our home. His team was concerned about doing quality work and keeping things clean. We will definitely use him for future projects. We had three different estimates, but Derrick closed the deal.

After soliciting several price quotes and proposals. I decided to hire DJ's Painting to paint the entire exterior of our home. From the very onset, Derrick was extremely knowledgable and informative as we discussed paints and finishes to meet our desired outcome. It was a big job that took a full week to complete. Even with weather delays and meeting other customer needs, Derrick and his team were able to complete the job on time and budget. They were prompt, professional, courteous and clean, resulting in a great job at a fair price. I am very happy with the result and would highly recommend their services.

Derrick of DJ's Painting and Power Washing was incredibly professional, prompt, informative, and superbly qualified. He utterly transformed our deck; look brand new! Far better than we thought it could look. When considering a contractor for this type of work, look no further and DJ's Painting & Power Washing. They did A+++++ work, and we could not be more satisfied. Yet another Angie's List find that turned out to be a diamond. Thank God for Angie's List. BTW: We have already hired Derrick to return this fall for several projects. Can hardly wait to see the results. I give DJ's Painting & Power Washing my unequivocal recommendation!

This was the second time that we used Jeff's services. The first time that we contracted with Jeff was to refinish our Kitchen cabinets and paint 80% of the rooms in our 3-Level Townhouse. His crew is always punctual, detail oriented and dedicated to providing excellent services. The team did an excellent job with the stairs and ensured that the final product was as perfect as possible. We will be using Jeff's services again.

We scheduled the appointment for a Friday afternoon and he stated that he would call if he was in my area earlier. The day of the appointment he didn't show so I called them back to see what was going on because no one called me. The lady who answered told me she had no way to get in touch with him and that he had been in my area earlier that day but was on another job. She stated she would call her son who was with him on the job and see what time they would be at my house. That call to her was around 4pm. He called me around 8:30 that night and sounded very bothered that he even had to call me. There was no apology for missing our appointment or anything like that.

Saw Derek in my neighborhood and received a written quote on the back of his business card. I checked Angies list to see if they were rated and they are. Very good. I called to schedule services on a Friday afternoon. I gave the receptionist all of my information and the amount I was quoted. Derek was painting 6 shutters for 195.00 and a front door for 50.00. The receptionist said she would write up the contract and email it to me. Once I got it, to return it and we could pick a day for them to come out. FIVE days went by and no contract. I called again and left a voicemail, in the event she wrote down the wrong email address. The next day, Derek returns my call. He remembered talking to me and being in my neighborhood. Great. Said he'd have his assistant get the contract out later that day. Three more days go by, still no contract. I left one more message advising I hadn't yet received the contract. Later that night, the contract came in with a different price I was quoted. I pulled out the business card just to make sure. Yup' different price. I replied to Derek email and told him about the price discrepancy and that as soon as I got the revised contract with the correct price, we ere good to go. Derek replied back, that he gave me the correct pricing AND get this.... his first available opening is mid August. Really? At first, I could pick a date asap, bit now because I noted the price discrepancy, they're not available until Aug??? Derek never replied when I told him I had the handwritten quote on the back of his business card. I don't plan on using Derek for the work I need and I couldn't recommend him either. YMMV, but beware of the bait and switch. Something tells me, this may be common with women.

I originally contacted them on a Sunday afternoon and the owner called me back later that evening. He ended up coming out a few days later first thing in the morning to give me a quote for wallpaper removal for a nursery and potentially for completely redoing the drywall in the entire room. He was on time, very professional and kind and very nicely explained to me that what I thought was wallpaper glue was actually just another layer of poorly done paint. He gave me a quote for his people to come out and take care of it anyways, but told me that it would it shouldn't be that difficult or time consuming to do it myself. The price he quoted me was smack dab in the middle of the range that I was hoping to hear, which I was very pleasantly surprised by. We did end up doing it ourselves, but we are definitely keeping his number and information in case we come across a project that we don't want to do.

DJ's returned to our house for another home improvement project on March 13th, this time to install a straight 9 foot railing in our split foyer home. They were able to find a railing style matching our existing stair railing perfectly saving us from having to replace both railings. The installation was carried out professionally and every step in the process including stain choice was discussed and completed only after my agreement. My satisfaction was not only important but is a standard for them. I will continue to contact DJ's Painting & Power Washing for any future projects we may have without hesitation. How wonderful it is to have found a local business where customer satisfaction and a high standard of professional quality work goes even beyond those advertised.

Thank you DJ's Painting! The project turned out exactly as we wanted. Even though I messed up on color selection on a wall or two, you quickly came to the rescue and corrected my error.
