Description of Work: We bought plants from River Hill Nursery, which we planted ourselves. The staff is very knowledgeable and their plants are top-quality. We find their prices high, though, and buy from them when we have uncertainties that balance their strengths with their prices. That being said, we do buy plants from them frequently and are happy with our decisions to do do. We have never used them (or anybody else) for landscaping.

 + 0 moreWe had had a problem with water accumulating in the outside basement steps area and then coming into the basement under the door. Part of the problem was water (heavy rain) directly coming into this area from above, but there was also a problem with water seeping into the well at the bottom of the steps through the the concrete wall. River Hill replaced the top third of the wall which was crumbling and parged the remaining portions of the wall. They also regraded the outside area near the house so that the water flowed away, instead of towards the house, and put in an under ground drain system to aid this. In addition they put a shingled roof over the basement steps to alleviate rain directly falling into the cellar well, together with a new maintenance-free railing. We've already had several nice compliments from the neighbors as to the aesthetics. We also had the front walkway of our home replaced and the flower beds redone along with new lighting about a year ago by River Hill. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this project as well. Cost of this including walkway, shrubs, perennials, and copper lighting (and removing the old walkway and shrubs) was about the same as the above project. Ryun Wauls, the landscape architect for both of these projects, was extremely good to work with and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend River Hill Landscaping.
