+ -1 moreHe came and poked around a little, and said that the issue might be this one part that was going to cost $1500 plus labor. This was even though he didn't see much evidence that it was actually that part. When he said that, I lost all trust in him and didn't allow him to run the $75 test (plus another $100 for the labor to do it) to see if that was the issue. After being at my house for 38 minutes, he sat in his car for 22 minutes "to do the paperwork" then came back at exactly one hour from arrival time and said he worked exactly an hour, then charged me $150. I got someone else to come out who said that it definitely wasn't that $1500 part and could tell just by looking at it. I could have gotten taken for a ride for $2000. Instead, calling them was a $150 mistake. I was disappointed because someone recommended another one of their workers to me. I don't do business with them again.

Description of Work: It was a pleasure to work with Charles Minnick of Merit-Air. We were looking to replace both our furnace and air conditioner. We found Charles very professional when we met to discuss our plans - he listened and offered his professional advice about the type of units that would best fit our house. He was very prompt in providing a written proposal, and the work took 2 days to complete. Thus far, we've been very pleased since the installation.

+ -1 moreOur heat pump went down on 5/31. I called 10 different companies to come out and take a look. All of them said they could not get out before next week, unless of course I had a "service contract". Many said it would be two weeks. I called Merit-Air and left a message. Charles Minnick returned my call and showed up that day. He was prompt, courteous, and took the time to explain everything he was doing, and show me what was wrong. Luckily it wasn't a major problem and he had the unit fixed in 20 minutes. Good thing too,because by then, the inside temp of the house was nearing 90 degrees. I would use this guy again in a heartbeat.

+ -1 moreOur contact, Charles Minnick, with Merit-Air was very responsive and scheduled our work in a timely manner once the new unit was ordered and delivered. He is extremely knowledgable and takes the time to explain the details of the project. Everything was completed per schedule.
Description of Work: We replaced one of our heat pump units due to a bad compressor. The unit was over 17 yrs. old. Merit Air responded quickly to our call and provided the same quality service which we have received in the past. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC work.

+ -1 moreCharles was extremely responsive in every way. His pricing was very competitive compared to other contractors and we did not have to wait a week for service. I would highly recommend Merit-Air.
Description of Work: Our a/c went down and I received a recommendation to contact Merit-Air Inc. The owner, Charles Minniick, was very responsive in calling me back and trying to fit me into his schedule. Other contractors required waiting a week for service. Charles came the next day and was professional, courteous and knowledgeable in discussing our HVAC issues. He discovered a major leak with the refrigerant and completed all necessary repairs. While on site, he replaced the air filters for all of the units. We discussed the age of the units and possibly replacing the compressor down the road. Charles explained all of the details with the newer units and will be sending an estimate for this as well.
