They (husband and wife) were very responsive and seemed very excited for the work. They created a good layout and seemed to know what they were doing. When they started working, they would show up at inconsistent times, and sometimes not at all. Once the work was "complete" we had a number of issues with the quality of the work, and work that just wasn't done. They never leveled out the furring strips to the exterior walls (furring strips were installed in 1937) and when we questioned them about the plumbness of the walls, they only made excuses as to why it wasn't their problem. They installed three sconce lights in line, but could neither install them flush to the wall (they blamed the studs) nor could they install them level (they blamed our level). As it turned out, they installed the incorrect junction boxes out of level, which I had to fix / hire another drywaller. They did not install the electrical work through a GFCI, which we had wound up having to pay another contractor to fix. They refused to caulk the toilet to the floor. The quality of the tile work and drywall work was poor (we can see the mudset through the grout). On a rainy day, we realized that we could see daylight through the penetration through the roof, which was damaging the drywall (which we had to hire a roofer to fix). At the end, when we were trying to get the last few things fixed (prior to providing final payment), Anthony stated that he "would get the money one way or another". Overall, we had decided to splurge by hiring a contractor, but wound up having to go back and fix anything that required skill to install. We should've contracted everything ourselves and saved us the hassle and the money.
