I needed a privacy fence installed, because my neighbor's visitors just kept using my yard as their walkway, although the property had been clearly staked with red banners. I searched Angie's List and a company with the highest rating gave me a high estimate. Then a friend recommended Tri County fence, because her neighbor had recently used them to install a long privacy fence. When I called, Brad Meyer, the estimator, was immediately available and fit me in between his appointments. He gave me a better price, than the first company, answered all of my questions and I decided to go with Tri County fence. In my former home, I previously had privacy fences installed, so I was prepared to have to know the specifics of the job. My new fence was to be on a slope and Brad Meyer provided me with detailed drawings and to my joy, specified the exact depth of the posts. I like precision and good solid work, that lasts through the weather. Tri County scheduled me for today and called me in the morning to let me know, that the crew would be here in 5 minutes. No waiting here, which set a good tone already. The crew arrived, with Jose being the crew leader. He conducted himself very professionally and, as I expected and was ready for, asked me where I wanted the fence to be. He and his workers dug the post holes by hand at a very fast speed. I had asked Jose to let me know, when the first post hole was dug, so that I could ensure that it was of the required depth. He politely showed me and by that time his co-workers had already dug 4 more holes of the same depth. The entire 50 feet were completed in 2 hours. They cleaned up nicely and did not break any branches etc. Painless, reliable, pleasant. I now have an attractive looking privacy fence that is well installed. What more can a customer want ? I highly recommend the company. There was always someone available to answer questions.

Based on a referral from a friend, we contacted Tri County Fence & Decks to do composite decking at our house. We spoke with Susan who was very helpful and knowledgeable. She sent an their estimator out within about 2 days of our initial call. He showed us product samples, and gave us some ideas that we hadn't thought of, such as building in a corner bench seat. We did some research on the company and the product, and ultimately chose them to do the work. Susan secured the proper permits, and the project was scheduled within about 3 weeks of obtaining the estimate. The product and the team arrived when they said they would. The project took about 5 days to complete and the result was just what we wanted. The deck is beautiful and we look forward to many years of use!

From the minute we contacted Tri County to the minute the job was finished, we had a great experience! The salesman was courteous and professional and on time for our appointment. I can't say the same for other contractors out there. We received the bid shortly after our appointment and once the contract was signed, we had our installation date on the calendar, despite the busy time of year. Our property is not easy to work with - we have a sloping yard and the typical Maryland clay/rock soil. That didn't seem to matter to Nery and his assistant who installed the fence. They worked right through it and were very pleasant to work with. We decided to go with a commercial grade black aluminum fence and so happy that we did! Even though it was more expensive than standard grade, it is more substantial and so impressive! In fact, we are the envy of the neighborhood. We have been told that it makes our yard look stately and that it has enhanced our landscaping. We also had a paddock fence installed for our livestock and it is nearly perfect. It has held up without fail with the animals and we could not be more pleased. The installation of both projects went very well with little to no delay and the workmanship is unbeatable. Our next project is a large deck and I am already dreaming of the design! We will most definitely have Tri County Fence and Decks take this on! Thank you!!!!!

I was not pleased with the services received from this company and regret choosing them. The process of getting a quote and finalizing a contract was fine, no issues to report. However, the issues began when the start date kept getting pushed back, with the project starting a month late (with little communication about the delays). Once it started I was surprised that only one man showed up to do the job, and he had no scaffolding, which was needed because of the high elevation. As a result it took longer than expected to finish, which was not helped by fact that he only worked in the mornings and didn't show up once for a whole day (when I called it was explained that he was waiting for additional materials to arrive, the materials that were delivered an hour after he left on the previous day.) There were multiple more issues that arose (not showing up when told would, installing wrong design and having to stop and start over when I raised - luckily I was home). In addition, it took three weeks after the primary deck was done for them to fix a piece of molding that needed to be redone due to bad workmanship. And, the clean up was horrible - nails and materials everywhere on the deck and on the ground and they left all the extra dirt. It took me a long time before I allowed my 3-year old in the yard since I kept finding nails. While I understand that this was a tough job for them due to the elevation, others in my community have also had decks put in at the same elevation. Every other deck built here has had a team of 2-3 men assigned, scaffolding, and perfect clean up. And at a cheaper price. I decided to go with this company due to its inclusion in the Howard County best pick report and thought paying a bit more was a good investment. At the end of the day, we have a nice deck (some defects so not perfect but acceptable) and the man they sent worked hard. But it just was not worth all the hassle and stress.

Sue is really a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive and was easy to get in touch with. She personally came out numerous times to make sure that we got exactly what we were looking for. The fence came out beautifully! They built everything on-site so they even fixed minor adjustments that I requested on the spot. My only gripes were with the team that came for installation. They were about half a day late. Once they got here one of the guys had to leave to go to another site so only one worker was left. So instead of a one day installation it took two. They were back in the morning the following day and worked all day to install. Again, the finished product I love. The workers were a little sloppy during clean up. They even left their saw in my back yard. I was also a little concerned as they lost my check with the balance of the payment. Sue was very apologetic and they payed the fee to stop payment on the check, but I was slightly disappointed.

I had to get Columbia Association (HOA) approval to put up the fence, Carlton Meyer was very helpful with this process. I needed a rush job and Tri County was very accommodating. The workmen were skilled, polite, and cleaned up well. There was a misunderstanding re. the type of gates we wanted, this was remedied the following day--otherwise, the job was completed in just one day.
