+ -1 moreI wish they were cheaper. He was very knowledgeable especially about water damage. He tried to help us without costing us a lot of money at first. Unfortunately, he had to come back and take further measures which cost more money, but that par for the course. He came back and he tried to work with us first. He was very professional and very friendly.

He took care of a stubborn stain on carpet which came out with extra treatment. gave me scotch guard for free as it was a move in. I would definitely use Top Hat again.

+ -1 moreVery professional service. He is always on time, neat, and tidy yet he works very hard. Robert has been here over the past 15 or more years. I use no one else and trust Top Hat completely. I asked if he could clean the spots on my family room area rug. He said that it is something that can't be cleaned - it'll shrink and lose its shape if he even tried it. He's very honest about what can and can't be cleaned, not trying to sell something that won't be satisfactory. Amy is very cordial and friendly on the phone making appointments, using a realistic schedule. If she says he'll be there between 2:00 and 4:00, expect him at 2:00!
Description of Work: Cleaned back stairs and basement stairs - heavy traffic areas. Also cleaned rug at front door and dining room area rug.

+ -1 moreI found Top Hat on Angie's list. When I called, Roberts wife was very pleasant and explained the price structure and what Robert does. She scheduled me within 2 weeks of my call. Robert was prompt and cleaned the articles I contracted for. He seemed to do a very through job. He was clean and pleasant. I was pleased with the work and will call him again when needed. He said if I found anything not to my satisfaction, he will return and make it right. As it turned out, that was not necessary. .
Description of Work: Steam cleaned arm chair, sofa, living room area rug and small hall runner. He steam cleaned stairs to basement and scotch guarded all.

+ -1 moreTop Hat was recommended by our realtor for getting our house ready to sell. Even he said they were a little more expensive but did a great job. We had 3 dogs and a two year old so our carpet had plenty of stains so we wanted quality over the cheap price. We had used a cheap service in the past and they did a horrible job. Robert from Top Hat was GREAT!. It was very easy to make an appointment, he called on the day of to let me know he was on his way, and did an even better job then we thought was possible. We thought we might need to get a new carpet in our basement due to a large stain but he got it removed. It took 6+ hours to clean almost every room in our house, but it was well worth it. I would highly recommend them and I would use them again.

+ 0 moreSetting up the appointment with Amy with all the difficult details that were important to me was a breeze. This is the second time I've used Top Hat. Robert is professional, punctual, and personable. I decided to write this review while he's finishing up on the stairway. My carpets look new again which means a great deal to my wife and I because we have a 4 year old. Unfortunately kid rock will be home in 15 minutes so we only have little time to really enjoy this moment. Just want to thank Amy and Robert once again for a great experience. I really appreciate the personal touch.

Though the schedule that day caused a slight delay in arriving; we were very impressed with the due diligence and professionalism. Our carpet was cleaned very well, and Robert spent an extraordinary effort making sure all details were attended to. This is a good company, and highly recommend them. We will hire again if they're not too busy!

+ -1 moreOverall, we couldn't have been more pleased. The carpet looked like brand new when the job was completed. We had a question about an odor that was in the air a couple of days after the cleaning. He came over, made certain that there was not a problem and explained that the odor was part of the drying process. It would disappear when the carpet had completely dried. He was right. The odor disappeared and the air was clear. We highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Recently we moved from our three level townhouse in Frederick, MD. We looked on "Angie's List" for a company to clean the carpet. I must confess the carpet had spots that we couldn't remove. The "Top Hat Carpet Cleaning" was the one we chose. We had a tight schedule to get the cleaning completed. I called the office and Amy, the receptionist was very pleasant and understanding about our situation. Our requested day and time was worked into their busy schedule and the cost was very reasonable. Robert, the gentleman who did the shampooing was informative about the procedure and answered all our questions in a way that was understandable. We will use them again and highly recommend them as a qualified company who does an excellent job. I'm grateful too for Angie's List as a place where we can find fair and honest companies. I'm not going to recommend anyone who doesn't do what promised.

Service is excellent, setting up an appointment is a delightful experience, and the price is fine. I've been using them for quite a few years. They are a family-owned company and do the best work I have experienced with carpet clearners.

He's on time, extremely courteous, and hard working. He'll explain his routine and the products he uses if asked. I highly recommend using Top Hat.

+ -1 moreThey were very pleasant but I didn't go with them because of the type of cleaning system they use. Their philosophy was that the hand held cleaners were more effective than the truck mounted rug cleaners. The other people that we have trusted for years that do our oriental rugs said that wasn't true. As a consumer it is hard to tell and we were happy with the results that we got from the company we went with. It is a couple-owned business and seemed very customer friendly. They called back within a reasonable period time and I didn't feel like they kept me hanging. I wouldn’t call them again just because of the type of system they use.

+ -1 moreWe were very pleased with his work. He used equipment we have never seen before.We kept smelling a pet odor from the previous homeowner. Robert used some kind of light that luminated the pet stains we couldn't see. He treated the areas and we haven't smelled anything to date. We also had dye stains the previous cleaner couldn't get out. Robert explained about this new "epoxy" dye remover and used it. Wa-la it was gone! He said he's been in business for 21 years and it shows. A friend told us about the company. It is a husband and wife team. Robert does the work and his wife (Amy) schedules the appointments. We liked that the owner still does the work. We've had cleaners come in the past who looked pretty scary so we're very picky on who we hire.We will definately use Top Hat again !
Description of Work: We hired Top Hat Carpet Cleaning to clean the carpet in our home. Robert (the owner) went over all the areas we wanted cleaned. We went over the price which was exactly what we were quoted over the phone. He took several hours to clean everything. Robert takes his time and is very detailed. + -1 moreAfter an A/C leak led to a basement flood, we were panicked. Got several estimates, which ranged from $700 - $1300. A friend, a Realtor, recommended Top Hat. We called, had a visit that day, and began work immediately. It wasn't as 'fancy' as some of the other providers, who swore we needed super heavy equipment, but the system worked, responsiveness was fantastic, and they really seemed to care about getting the job done correctly without overcharging us. Would absolutely use again, and will use for carpet cleaning. They charged by the visit, estimated 2 visits, made 3 visits, and charged us for 2!! excellent work!!
