Description of Work: We had a very complicated cable situation in our house, which was an older house that had subsequently had an additional floor added; the cable never worked properly on the upper floor, and despite multiple visits from the cable company we could never get it fixed to our satisfaction. C&H came in and did an evaluation and explained to us what the problems were, and what they recommended as a solution, and we made an appointment with them to have the work done.

Description of Work: The telephone wiring in my older home is a mess. The previous owners ran a lot of phone lines and had multiple outlets in every room. Every time I had a Verizon tech out they would look at the "spaghetti mess" and shake their head. Nothing was ever resolved and this started from the day I moved in. A couple of years ago my phone stopped working, I called Verizon and they came out and said their line worked up to the house and then died inside the house. They didn't know why, clearly didn't want to be bothered to troubleshoot it and quoted me a ridiculous amount per hour fee. They advised me to call an electrician. I called several electricians and they seemed insulted that I was asking them to fix my phone line. I was going in a circle and getting no where. I'd get frustrated and give up for a while, then get my resolve back to get it fixed and I'd start the cycle all over again. I found CH Tel Co. on Angie's List. I called them and later on (same day) Charlie called me back. 10 minutes on the phone with him and I was very happy and the problem wasn't even fixed yet! Charlie seemed to understand I'd been working on this problem for a very long time (years actually) and he confidently explained that his team had a combined 40+ years of experience doing this work. He KNEW they could fix it. Two days later Rick came and in less that 2 hours I had my phone service restored!! Plus he put up with my barking mutts and overly friendly cat. These guys, especially Rick, are AMAZING!

Description of Work: I was having trouble with Cavalier/Verizon fixing the static in my house. Verizon repairmen came out three times and gave me three different answers to solving the static. Eventually the Cavalier rep said that they could send someone to come inside the house but suggested that I could contact a private company instead. Charlie Hertel sent someone during their window so I was very happy to see someone. I was given an estimate based on my the described problem.

Description of Work: After a quick survey of the work requirements, the technician gave me a thorough estimate for labor\time and materials for the project as well as a plan (verbally) for how the work was going to be conducted. After receiving another estimate I decided to go with C H TEL for the work. The technician (same person that provided estimate)arrived when expected and conducted the installation of coaxial cable in the house as planned. Cables were labeled appropriately and all input/output wall plates, etc were installed without issue. Had FiOS installed over that weekend and all TV's and Internet worked perfectly.

Description of Work: I hired C H Tel Co. to research and possibly repair a problem with the cable wiring in my house. My cable TV service had been inconsistent and my provider (Comcast) had not been giving me a consistent reason for all the problems that I had been having. Scheduling a technician was easy and he arrived on time. He gave me a diagnosis that made sense to me and did match the problems that I was having with Comcast. There was a faulty splitter behind the drywall in the basement ceiling that was weakening the signal to such a degree we could not get good reception on two newer HD TVs. Instead of trying to find and dig out the faulty splitter we decided to re-run cable to each TV so that each TV would have a dedicated line from the incoming cable. They referred this as having each TV being 'home-run'. I now have the newest cable (the previous cable was from 2004 or even earlier) and receive uninterrupted signals to the two HD TVs. They also helped me know what I might need to update other wiring in my house to keep up with technology. I am grateful to C H Tel Co for helping me properly diagnosis the cable TV problems we were having. If I ever have future issues I feel certain that CH Tel co can help me figure things out!

Description of Work: My church needed to have its key telephone system relocated to prepare for building construction we were having done. Also, the existing installation was quite a mess. This involved extensive interior and exterior rewiring, establishment of a new telephone room and preparation to coordinate with a new fiber installation by Verizon for both telephone and internet. In order to coordinate with the building construction contractor and Verizon, it was necessary to do the work in three separate stages.

Description of Work: Computer, TV cable and phone - they wired it all. I just moved into a 50 year old house that had one cable leading into the house - via a hole drilled through the frame of a basement window. CH TEL came out and ran the cable into the attic and fished all of the wires down through the walls so that the only things visible were the outlets and jacks. I had them put a TV cable outlet in the living room, TV cable and computer outlets in the family room, computer and phone outlets in the office and they upgraded the other five phone outlets that were already in the house. Rick suggested putting the modem and other connections in the utility room in the basement thereby removing one more piece of "stuff" out of my office. It took a little over a day to do it but I have a house without miscellaneous cables running all over the place. Beautiful work.
