Rudy and his team did an excellent job refinishing our first floor hardwood floors (20 years old) and refurbished our wood banisters which look better than brand new.  We weren't sure if we wanted to have the floors refinished or just have new floors installed.  We received quotes from other highly rated providers who would have replaced the floors and the price was double the cost of refinishing the floors.  Rudy's advice to refinish the floors was appreciated because the refinished floors are gorgeous. 

Rudy and his team are professional and courteous.  They arrived on time each day and worked the entire day going through the very extensive process of sanding, staining and applying the final coat to the floors.  They were meticulous with refurbishing our banisters which were an old honey oak color and turned them into beautiful stylish banisters.

The reason we selected Kustom Floors is because they provided a fair price for the service and went above and beyond what was requested by showing how the banisters could be refurbished to give our first floor a whole new beautifully decorated look  I would highly recommend Kustom Floors.

Kustom Floors is amazing.  They did a beautiful job - these are definitely craftsman, not just some floor sanding company.  They sanded, treated, stained, and put commercial grade finish on our floors.  They also did floorboard, toe rails, and fireplace transitions.  All of them look amazing.

I have used Kustom Floors for all my jobs since moving into my home this summer.  They sanded and refinished original mid-century era hardwood that looks new with a beautifully rich ebony color.  They painted the entire and did some remodeling of our stairwell and upstairs railing.  Based on their honesty, thoroughness, and knowledge of flooring, it was a no-brainer to hire them again for this job.  Although the price tag did alarm me at first, Rudy took the time to explain the reasons behind his estimate.  Based on my hesitance on paying so much, he gave me a discount and included a handyman to help us with putting up a screen door and installing window treatments throughout the house.  Not to mention, inspect his previous work around the house to ensure any blemishes were touched up. 

I can't say it enough.  Rudy and his team are fantastic!  They are more than just a flooring company.  They should be your go to contractors all work around the house.  He also invited me to his home that was undergoing a full renovation under his close supervision.  After seeing that place, there is nothing Kustom Floors can't do. Kudos!

Rudy and his team are very honest, transparent, and highly skilled.  Although the paint job was satisfactory, it was their custom remodeling that stood out!  With the staircase remodeling, I texted him a photo of a nicely designed staircase with modern balusters and solid oak handrails with a more contemporary/modern design.  That is exactly what Kustom Floors built!  A beautiful job with high quality materials at a reasonable price.  The same goes with the railing they replaced upstairs. It looks fantastic! They are highly skilled with custom work - probably why its in the name.  Based on this work, we decided to hire them again to install engineered wood floors in our main floor/basement.

Rudy and his team are best in class! Amazing workmanship and thorough guidance and recommendations from Rudy. He completely transformed our home! He has passion, knowledge, and is honest about what is possible. Based on our experience with Rudy and his team - expanded the scope of this project and planned an additional work! Rudy and his team from Kustom Floors did an excellent job in my house. I have no hesitation in recommending them, and if we ever need additional work we will certainly call them back. Kustom Floors did remodeling work as well as refinish all the floors and stairs in the house. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the process from beginning to end. On the second level of our house we wanted to make two bedrooms with independent entrances and doors from a large L-shaped room. It was hard to believe how well the work turned out after they finished. The final room distribution looked as it was in the original plan of the house! When friends looked at the new layout they don?t believe the change until we show them old pictures.  The work on the wood floors was also very professional. Rudy spent quite a bit of time demonstrating us what would be the outcome of using clear, intermediate or a dark finish. At the end we decided for an intermediate-dark finish.  The wood looked not only like new but very homogeneous despite previous owners repaired the floor with different types of wood. We get lots of compliments for our floors when we have guests. All in all I strongly recommend Kustom Floors. They are not the cheapest out there, but they are very professional, and their
work is of excellent quality

All of the work done by Kustom Floors was excellent. They spent a considerable amount of time sanding the floors, the steps and the railings and each of employees was courteous and efficient.  When the work was completed, the floors looked great.  Most important, the work was completed by the promised date.

An appointment was made for me to meet with the Supervisor for the job, Edgar, who met me at my home in Kensington, MD to discuss the project.  He relayed the details of my project to their office manager who then sent me a description and estimate for the work to be done via email.  I reviewed their policy, the cost quote, etc. signed it and sent it back.  The office manager was very responsive to any calls or questions I had.  The job began on the date and at the time agreed upon.  They prepped the area - moving furnishings, protecting the floors and furniture.  We communicated throughout the day on different things.  They finished the next day earlier than expected and cleaned up very nicely.  They did an excellent job.  Gave Edgar and Luis a tip for a job well done.  I have also seen work they have done at other peoples' homes so I already knew they did quality work.  I would definitely have Kustom Floors do more work and even more complex or time-consuming projects for us in the future.

Great experience. Their price is not the cheapest but you pay a little premium for the best quality. Plus they are very experienced and have a solution for every request we have. We selected prefinished red oak for the second floor. The first floor is semifinished white oak. They were able to match the color which looks identical to me. They also took care of some uneven and squeaky parts of the floors. The final product is excellent. They are everything you wish your every contractor is.

Excellent work -- used non-toxic, zero-VOC stain which turned out great. Sanded the entire upper level. Installed a stair nose tread at the top of our landing. Great work and have recommended them to neighbors.

Kustom was very professional and punctual in completing the job. Rudy did the home visit and provided the estimate, and came to my house to lay down a sample so I could appreciate the difference between Bona and a standard polyurethane finish. He was able and willing to answer all my questions, and was flexible about the start date of the job.

The crew of 3 was led by Jimmy and they did a wonderful job. They covered all of my kitchen cabinets,appliances, light fixtures and vents prior to sanding in order to prevent any damage. They worked efficiently over 4 days to complete the job and seemed very attentive to the details. The house had mostly new red oak hardwoods, and they did a very good job working with the existing red oak in two of the bedrooms. 

The finished product looks great and I would recommend Kustom Floors without hesitation!

Work done promptly and as expected

Great. It's the best money we've spent on a project in our house to date.

Excellent quality work and a perfect match to our other floors..  Communication with workers and between workers and office/scheduler was a challenge.  We were not always sure when the workers would arrive and leave largely because of traffic issues  and the workers were not told what final finisher to use.  We saw that the wrong gloss was used and the workers quickly corrected the problem.  Get a detailed schedule. Company acknowledged the issue and reduced our bill.  We would definitely work with them again.

from start to finish this company did a great job. they communicated about the schedule and called when they were on the way. they took great care of my house while doing the work, cleaned up thoroughly after the work was completed. the quality of the work is great, my floor looks brand new.

Great job - done under tight deadline.

Rudy came to my house and discussed everything in detail. Very knowledgeable, very easy to work with. The project had to be done on an extremely tight timeline and coordinated with other work that was being done at the same time. On top of that Rudy had a family emergency and had to leave town unexpectedly.  Plus we were ON VACATION while the work was done, so we were not there to supervise. Despite all these challenges, everything was completed on time and exceeded our expectations. We did have one miscommunication about the contract but they were very apologetic and accommodating and made it right - and in the end made it up to me by providing some additional work I needed at a significant discount. The entire house looks beautiful. Very high quality workmanship and attention to detail. Great customer service.

Work and craftsmanship was superb.  This is a family business (two brothers and other workers that they directly employ) which gave me a certain level of confidence that they would do a good job in order to establish a repeat customer base.
As for the work, my subfloor turned out to be severely off level, so that was replaced along with some new joists under it.  As a result, the job was not cheap, but it did require a significant amount of materials and labor, so I think that the cost was ultimately fair.  I possibly could have found a better price by shopping around, but given the level of craftsmanship, this company could not have done a better job.  The floor is perfectly level now (I installed kitchen cabinets myself and was very happy to find that the installation of the floor cabinets went very smoothly due to the perfectly level flooring under it).  
A note on the finish I used: Rudy (the owner) recommended Rubio Monocoat.  I'd just like to add that this stuff is great.  I'm a scientist and as such, read up on this product quite a bit.  It is low VOC and bonds at the molecular level to the wood surface.  It still looks brand new even after over a year of high traffic in my kitchen area.  
Anyway, whenever I need other flooring in my house replaced, I will look no further than Kustom Floors!

We couldn't be happier with the work done by Rudy and his team at Kustom Floors.  We had a series of jobs for Kustom Floors including refinishing hardwood floors, installing hardwood floors, painting and installing a customer banister.  Every project turned out great, and Rudy made sure we were satisfied with the work being done every step of the way.  He also gave great advice and was honest with recommending work we could do ourselves.  He was also easily accessible by phone and text to answer any questions we had about the work being done.  We would highly recommend the Kustom Floors and intend to use them on our next project.  Prices were very reasonable and we got a great value for our investment.

Overall, working with Rudy was fantastic.  He is truly committed to excellence and wants the same as you do: the end product to be spectacular.  He cares about the finer details which made him a perfect match for what we were after.
We are exceptionally pleased with our floors.  If we have any regrets, it's that he didn't install the original floors and only refinished them.  We can tell the difference between the flooring he installed vs. the existing floors that he refinished as there are gaps and other oddities in the old floors that were not his fault.
Rudy worked with us and we ultimately decided on the Ruby Monocoat finish which continues to impress everyone who visits.  The floors look fantastic and are relatively easy to maintain.
The new stairs look fantastic in the end and truly complete the whole house.  That said, there were frustrations related to the stairs that we felt should have been better managed and handled by Rudy himself.  The guys who did the work on the stairs were not the same as the ones who did the flooring.
There were a few issues with the stair installation process.  After they were installed, the posts weren?t perfectly perpendicular with the floor which we noticed with our eyes, not a level.  Also, the posts at the bottom of the stairs weren?t centered which looked strange.  Once we pointed these issues out, Rudy took care of them.
We felt bad having to point these issues out, but to Rudy's credit, he always seemed to appreciate that we were so focused on the details and he always made it right.  This caused a bit of delays and unnecessary frustration but, again, the end results are truly remarkable.
The work that he and his brother did on our fireplace was remarkable.  They had to dig out old concrete and refinish the floors to make it look nice and they did an amazing job.
We already have and will continue to recommend Rudy and Kustom Floors.  His approach and the results are worth any extra cost.  We will ALWAYS use Rudy for any flooring projects and will reach out on other projects as well.

Rudy's crew did a fantastic job on the stairs and floor and we couldn't be happier with the finished work.  Rudy was very helpful with his suggestions of what we should do to make everything look just right without spending too much extra money.
My only real gripe is that his crew kept showing up later and later each day, way past the time they said they would be here.  I work at home so it wasn't that big of a deal for me, but it certainly could be for someone on a tighter schedule.
His crew did a good job of keeping dirt and dust from getting into the rest of the house while they were working. Not too much cleaning was required after they left.

Kustom floors made our hardwood floors absolutely beautiful. They explained the different finishes, and made 5 samples (on the floor itself) so that we could decide what we wanted. We decided on the European finish (by Monocoat 2C in Oak), which can be worked in small sections if there is local damage or wear and tear, which is nice because it means the whole place doesn't have to be redone. This suits us because we have cats and they may at some point do something unpleasant! Our choice of color oil had to be ordered, which took a few days. The work itself was super fast, and they did a good job of cleaning up the inevitable dust layer. They were also very accommodating even though I rescheduled a few times due to delays in another ongoing project.
I had not completely understood how long the floors needed afterwards to fully recover, so when we moved in a few days later (with a moving company), I was a little nervous. But, we covered the corridors etc with brown paper and in the end there was no damage to the floors. The fridge had been pulled out a little too far before the work was done, so when we finally pushed it back in all the way, an unfinished patch in the floor became exposed. Rudy graciously agreed to come and refinish that section free of charge, and at the same time showed me how to take care of the floors and how to do spot repairs. My only tiny niggle is that it took a few days to get a quote at one point, but to be fair, it was the second or third quote after changing our minds about what work we wanted done. Overall, the work was definitely worth it. In conclusion: we LOVE our floors!

The flooring was lousy (reminder: never shop at Lumber Liquidators again) but the installation was done very well and professionally.  It was not their fault the floor sucked (totally take responsibility for this).  We enjoyed working with Jimmy and his crew.  They were punctual, very nice and respectful and finished the job in under the quoted time.
