We had our master bathroom remodeled about 1 1/2 year ago and not much went right. About 6 months ago I started looking for a new contractor to fix the cracking and popping tiles in the bathroom. By the time I called Chevy Chase Remodeling I was exasperated with contractors trying to up-charge me or just not showing up. Steve showed up on time, looked at the master bath problems and took the time to look at the hall bathroom that was also on the to-do list. Steve emailed a detailed quote on the day he promised and took extra time over the next few days to answer all my nervous questions. Steve's tile crew started on the master bathroom on a Wednesday and had that job done in a day and a half. They were skilled, efficient, tidy, and professional. They even started the remodeling of the hallway bathroom a few days early. Steve checked in often by phone and stopped by the house whenever I request despite the in convenient distance. I was so impressed with all the guys that worked on this project but the plumber's dedication takes the cake. One night the plumber worked until 8pm to make sure all the connections were made for the crew the next day, and right before he finished he dropped a screw down the drain. That 1 screw was critical so he went to Home Depot and came back to finish. As the job started to wrap up Steve came into look at the work and found a few things he wanted to have taken care of. (wrinkles in the drywall and re-caulking around the sink.) Although it added a day to the project it was well worth it. The walls, paint and caulking are smooth. I wish I had found Chevy Chase Remodeling a year and a half ago! I am so happy with their responsiveness, communication, pricing, professionalism and quality of work that I can't wait to have them back out to renovate my basement! Thank you Steve for taking on this job!
Description of Work: Replaced master bathroom floor and second bathroom remodel. In the master bathroom Chevy Chase Remodeling removed the old, broken tile floor in that was improperly installed last year. In the hallway bathroom they removed and replaced all fixtures, tiled floor and shower, repaired drywall and painted.

With the new floors, walls gone, amazing island, new cabinets, new appliances, butcher-block counters, and recessed lighting, Steve and his crew were able to transform our old boxy kitchen and livingroom, and a place that we didn?t like to spend much time in, into a place we don?t want to leave. We were amazed that they were able to finish the job on budget and on time at such short notice. Before we talked to him, we had spoken to at least 20 contractors to see how they would tackle the job. We were almost ready to give up and not do it. After we spoke to him we were hopeful again. This was, by far, the best experience we?ve had with a contractor. Of course, the high ratings on Angie?s List gave us confidence that he?d do the job properly. His team (especially Mr. Yoon) was incredibly professional, friendly, and accommodating. The fact that they were on top of all the details associated with the job and constantly kept us updated by phone and email (even when Steve was on vacation) relieved the anxiety of remodeling. We also appreciated the little things that made life a little less stressful. When there was a mix-up, not of his doing, he fixed the problem on our behalf. Also, when we asked him for a good handyman because we wanted to get a few other side house projects done, he volunteered to do it at no cost! The crew was awesome. They were meticulous, diligent, and friendly. They were also incredibly clean. Every night after they finished, they would sweep, vaccumn, and mop the floor; they would also look through the yard to make sure they didn?t leave any debris. Although the terms of the contract included sanding/staining only a part of the floor, his guys decided that it would look substandard and decided to sand and stain the entire floor at no additional cost. The end result is this beautiful open space that the kids, dog, and we love.

Thank you for providing your feedback on our firm. However I truly wished that you had included all the details opposed to half the details. I will now provide all the details. 1. Client purchased 99.00 roof repair deal 2. The same day I reached out to the client to receive all required information 3. I was provided a contact name [member name removed] and number to set up the meeting 4. When I contacted [member name removed], he informed me that there was no need to come out as a roofer had just come out to repair and inspect the roof. I made him aware of the situation and he further stated that I did not need to come out. 5. I would have offered a refund, however I don't receive a penny on these 99.00 deals the proceeds go to Angies List. This is a perk for Angie's List members in which we are not compensated. All refunds have to go through Angies List which was stated to [member name removed] the contact. So members as you can see, The F grade is certainly not realistic nor warranted. In addition I would ask that the member please modify the review to reflect the facts, as what was stated in the review does not give a realistic account of what took place. If you have the time and are interested in using our firm for any services please take the time to read more reviews and you will quickly see that we are a reputable business and strive very hard to please all of our clients.

The job went very well but took longer than estimated by the project leader. Only one person was doing all the sanding which could have gone faster had the project leader stayed to assist. Anyway the foyer was sufficiently closed off from the living area with plastic to contain the dust. The finish looks great. Also they installed all the shoe moulding properly including a piece of flexible trim I provided around the rounded step that wasn't properly handled when the new kitchen floor was installed by another company.

Stephen provided online link to options for roofing, asked for actual samples which he dropped off for our review. Glad I got the samples because the computer did not accurately present the shingle colors. Was originally ordering a new roof for $4,799 special but also wanted to investigate new soffets, gutters, and back door. Asked Stephen to come out to provide an estimate. He did and explained that our roof was a bit larger than the 2,000 square feet covered in the Big Deal and that the fascia would need to be replaced with the soffet. We also discussed the back door and due to the lack of any protection from direct rain, he strongly recommended we go with a sliding door instead of the french door. We agreed and he provided an estimate. Work started around mid May and the roofing went very well although I noted the drip edge was not being installed and spoke with the lead contractor. Later that day the drip edge was installed and the root looked excellent. During the roofing repairs and trimwork a few minor issues occured. A bathroom vent cover was damaged by a ladder which they replaced at no charge, one piece of fascia trim was missing, which they corrected, and something was dropped on my gas grill bending the side shelf somewhat. That was able to be straightened out but Stephen was willing to pay for a replacement which I told him was not necessary. The door installation was another matter. The installer failed to arrive as scheduled, then left again to pickup the door and didn't return. I had to call late in the evening to find that the door that had been ordered was damaged but the contractor did not call me to advise that the install would not occur that day. The next attempted install was worthy of a tv comedy, the workers showed up without tools, borrowed my tools to do the install, failed to level the door, and it would not close correctly. Over the next few days a couple more attempts were made to correct the door install during which time the screen door was destroyed and had to be replaced and the outside trim completely removed and replaced again. Stephen made sure the work was done right, however for this single aspect of the job this took took long and required too much effort to get proper installation on my part. I would not hesitate to hire Chevy Chase for roofing work again, however my experience with the door, despite Stephen's ensuring that all deficiencies were corrected does make me hesitant to hire them again for work other than roofing. I've seen other reviews stating Chevy Chase Remodeling did excellent work on jobs other than roofing, so maybe this one task was an exception to their otherwise high quality service.
Description of Work: Replaced roof, felt, ice guard and drip edge, complete tear off, six sheets of plywood needed (discovered during the install), new commercial gutters, new soffets and fascia, new sliding glass door to replace leaking and rotting french door.

We originally contacted this provider to see if a Big Deal that he was offering via Angie's List would work for us. Decided not to purchase the Big Deal because we wanted more customization. We gave him a budget that we needed to stay within and he worked it out. We did end up going over the budget we had set for ourselves because we wanted more expensive tile and added carpeting to the list of updates that we wanted done. Still, the price was great for what we wanted done. Our neighbors have the same model house and master bath as we do and they paid about $3000.00 for just the bathroom alone. They also had to find the vendors and order the materials themselves. Steve has specific vendors that he uses for materials and seems to have a very good working relationship with them all. The vendor for the bathroom tile and flooring had a very large selection and range of prices as did the vendor for the countertops. Both offered good quality products. Steve always offered to meet me at the vendor and if he couldn't make it he would make sure the owner's knew that I was coming and what I needed. I really appreciated this because making all of the different choices for materials (tile, flooring, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, etc) was a little overwhelming. I also appreciated that I was able to send a text at anytime with questions or changes and he always got back to me in a timely fashion. One thing I hate is not be able to communicate with contractors or not having phone calls returned. I did not experience this with Steve. He even answered a couple of emails while he was at the beach on a short vacation with his family. Steve and his workers were very eager to make sure we were happy with everything. If I voiced any displeasure with anything he made certain to fix it to my satisfaction. He also has complete trust in the men who work for him. We were out of the country for a lot of the work. I was very apprehensive about this, but we came home and found most of the work done and everything intact. His men are also very clean. They would arrive promptly as scheduled and would have everything cleaned up and be gone by 5pm. I am extremely pleased with both the bathroom and the bedroom. My daughter is a Professional Engineer for Toll Brothers and was very impressed with the "high end" work done on our bathroom and bedroom. I am already planning to have Chevy Chase Remodeling do another bathroom remodel in our home and also update our kitchen in the future. I know that Steve stands behind his work and I look forward to working with him in the future.

I tell the worker I need to talk to the srvice writer so could get a price to complete the work . I talked to him on the phone and he give me a price, I needed my floor fixed so agreed to it. When they finsihed the floor was completed I was impressed with the work it look really nice. What they need to work on is communication between the workers and arrival time. I would use them again but I going to get everything in writting and before I repalce my basement floor im getting bids. The work was very good !!!
Description of Work: they Orginallycame out to sand and refinish my living room floor which is about 220 feet, however before they could finish they decorvered that some of the floor beams had been eaten away by terminets so they had to stiop until I could get a extermantor to look at the damage and exterminate, that cost me another 1200.00 dallers. I waited for about a week so when they didt call me back I called them back to get them to come back and finish my floor. Someone from their office call me Sunday night at 9:30 night stated would I be avaibale Monday morning at 8:00 AM. I wait or them and about 9:00 AM a crew of worker arrvie and I am some what suprised becasue We had not talked about the new price to complete the work.

I was disappointment in the reply from the contractor. I arrived home about 5 minutes after the initial consultation was finish. I was surprised by how quickly the consultation with my Dad ended. My Dad told me they discussed and it was on par with the plans we had for kitchen. Image my surprise when I see a message from the contractor, Steve (he did not leave a card), supplying me with a design not inline with what my Dad and I wanted for the kitchen with a note that said that he was "a bit confused." Recalling that my Dad repeated verbatim what he told the contractor our design ideas were when I came in the door, I knew that my Dad was not confused. This was then confirmed when Steve came back and said that the designed rendered was based on what they thought was best for our kitchen. When he came in, he seemed like he was not pleased to be there and didn't really seem to pay attention our wants and needs, evident by the fact that took phone calls while I was talking. And when I went over what we want to have done again. I was told that he didn't like the layout and "their name will be on this kitchen." When he left, he still didn't offer a card. When he priced out the "new layout" I was told the pricing would be the same, which admittedly is very reasonable for a kitchen my size with the work that needs to be done, but they were still working on a new design. I gave it about a week or so and requested the design for consideration and then another a week and half later. It has been three weeks since my last request for a new design and nothing. Any consideration I would have give, especially after mentioning that my Dad, their client, was confused in a client correspondence email, is definitely null and void. UPDATE: A second design was provide on 7/24/14 after reading this review and requesting that I retract my statement. The response from the provider below is essential their opinion of what transpired, as the one stated above is reflective of my experience with them and not of the primary client, my Dad.
Description of Work: We were considering them for a kitchen remodel. We did not and will not be using their services.

NO WORK WAS COMPLETED, EVERYTHING WAS PROVIDED IN A TIMELY MANNER NOW THE FACTS! 1. Individual set appointment with company and stated she would meet us at a set time and date, upon arrival we were told she was not home and that she would be back soon, therefore meeting took place without her 2. At meeting, we were informed of an inadequate design concept, in which refrigerator was covering part of window, Wall cabinets were also covering additional window. Something our designer immediately noted and tried to adjust. 3. After she received design she was not happy and requested a new meeting. We went out yet again, showing good faith, and spoke about the situation. 4. We sent a new estimate on 6/18 and did not receive a response until 7/1 in which she apologized for the delay and asked for a new design. 5. She received the new design on 7/24 I did not feel comfortable with the design and it was best we did not perform these services, we wish them the best of luck.

Overall we were happy with the project and how it turned out. We originally looked at doing a much larger project but ended up putting that off. Steve was priced competitively with the other contractors we had look at the work. The crew finished the job pretty quickly with minimal disruptions to us, and it looks great. We'll definitely contact them again for our next project.

It went very well. There was considerable water damage so that material had to be removed and be replaced to ensure appropriate op n Workers were very professional and kept me apprised of their progress and the unexpected challenges. Also advised me of what actions would be taken.l eExtra work was necessary and even had to replace part of the floor inside the patio door. Their repair also fixed a problem with the patio door allowing me to open and close it without it sticking. The deck looks wonderful and neighbors have commented on it.
Description of Work: Tore down old deck and replace d with state of art materials. Although the original deal was for a ground level my deck was a second story requiring posts and side rails so the cost was more. I ALS upgraded from wood to composite.

Bought a deal on Angie's List, was contacted and arrangements made to measure on Monday. The job was scheduled for two days later, on Wednesday. It is now Friday afternoon, the job is complete! The floors are gorgeous! They moved the furniture out of three bedrooms, sanded and stained, moved the furniture back. The staff was very professional, efficient and meticulous. They were on time, very pleasant and extremely helpful. The owner, Steve DePollar, delivered as promised, on time, at price agreed on. We will definitely use Chevy Chase Remodeling again for remodeling. It is great to find honest, dependable, professional people!

The quality of work: The two men who worked at our home were very talented, knowledgable, skilled and took a lot of pride in their work . The foreman thought everything through each step of the way so there were no surprises for either of us and the end result was two beautifully modernized bathrooms. Their craftsmanship is supurb. The process: We had a foreman and helper who were promptly at our home every morning at 7:30am to go over any questions they had for me regarding that days stage of the job. They worked until 5:00pm or 5:30pm and at the end of their work day, the foreman called me to say they were leaving and locking the house. When we returned home from work in the evening, there was no mess, nothng to indicate remodeling was going on. They put down drop cloths in the morning and removed them, folded them and stored them in the garage each evening. They vacuumed the hallway carpet before they left for the day. During the tear out, they hauled everything away when they left each evening so we did not feel like we were living in a construction zone, which we experienced with other contractors. Each morning, the foreman gave me his projection for what he expected to accomplish and he was always right on target. The recommendation: We had a very postive experience with Chevy Chase Remodeling. Steve, the owner, is easy to work with; his men were here to start the job on the day he said they would be here. He gave us a very fair price, great remodel and we plan to use this company again for our next project.
Description of Work: All labor for remodeling two small bathrooms in our 30 year old home including demolition and removal of tiled floors and walls, all plumbing fixtures, drywall ~ stripped each room back to studs and framing. Moved two drain pipes from side walls to back walls for new sinks and vanities to be installed, moved drain and sloped shower floor for tile in one bathroom. Installed drywall, tiled both bathrooms, installed new fixtures, new lights, mirror and painted the walls.

Steven has been a life-saver in helping me to prepare my house to be sold. He has been very kind, responsive and reasonable in comparison to other contractors I have dealt with. He offered great suggestions on the work that I needed to have done. For instance, rather than having my house trim painted again, he suggested capping the trim so that it will be maintenance free. It turned out better than I imagined and the color was a perfect match with my garage door. Along with the new roof, my house never looked so good and sold in less than a week! He also took care of emergencies with my plumbing. His crew are the best and so nice and polite. They, along with Steven, were a delight to work with.

He has not started the work yet but I cannot say enough good things about the responsiveness and professionalism of this company. Within an hour of my email explaining our situation -- living in a half finished restoration for 6 months -- Steve called and came out to have a look the same day. He arrived right on time, looked over the situation and promised to email a proposal the next day. And he did -- again right on time. We found his pricing reasonable and in line with the adjuster's estimate. We look forward to working with Chevy Chase Remodeling. Will update this review when work is completed.

We hired Chevy Chase Remodeling to install a new roof on our entire house and new siding on our garage. We purchased a "Big Deal" through Angie's list for 3-D architectural shingles and we are very happy with the results. The work crew was very professional, the removal of the old shingles, clean up and install went very smoothly. We had a few boards to replace but we negotiated a price of $65/board prior to the start of work. We had to replace only 3 boards! Two days later a different crew arrived to side our garage and once again we were impressed with the work, the clean up and the final look of the garage. The Chevy Chase staff was very responsive to all of our questions and we will indeed hire them again. Great company! Highly recommend!

I'd say my experience with them was 50/50. They came by and did a good job. The workers were very friendly and informative. The issue I have been having even til now is that their administration office. I emailed them two or three times and called them for the estimate on future repairs and they never got back to me. I'm thinking about going with a different roofer. I was satisfied with the work that they did do. I enjoyed the experience with the workers. Just trying to communicate with the owner, I think his name is Steve, has been a hassle. Prior to them coming, I called them two or three times and left voicemail. They got back to me on the third time and schedule for them to come over to repair my roof the very next day. They were prompt and did a good job but it was just the lack of communication.

Regards, (removed member name) IMAG3824.jpg IMAG3824.jpg (1165KB) CHEVY CHASE REMODELING3/31/2014 This looks like you need to build an overhang and install new drip edge, that's more than roofing work. That's carpentry work. We received your message what is the problem with your roof. We are scheduling repairs for Thursday. We like to know specifically what to look for with regards to the roof repairs. As you know this is not a repair package. This is more to check the roof out and do minor maintenance items. (removed member name)3/31/2014 Hello, Thanks for your response. My conclusion, after google searches and watching youtube videos, is that the dripping is due to wear and tear on the bottom shingle row. Water is penetration through the areas of the last row. A possible solution could be replacing the last row of shingles. The following link mentions my problem... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-rFDbanVNA The roof is in a fair state. I have some shingles that are bubbling out. It is hard for me to take a pictures of this. I am hoping that hammering down a few nails and sealing them will do the trick. I also have a few areas where the roof baseboard is bubbling up, leaving a gap and exposing light into the attic. Likewise, I hope that hammering and sealing a few nails will do the trick. I hope that this makes sense. Feel free to call me at 773-425-2458 for a verbal explanation. As for the Roof Tune-up service, is it possible to schedule something for this Friday? Minor fixes and an expert analysis would be great. I have a townhouse and my roof is relatively small. Thanks, (removed member name) CHEVY CHASE REMODELING4/1/2014 Perhaps remove first 3 feet of that area upwards and install Ice and water shield first then new shingles in that area, with drip edge along gutter line. Cost $750.00 including materials. Do you want to schedule this. (removed member name)4/2/2014 Hello, I prefer to schedule a time and date to have the Roof Maintenance service performed. I feel more comfortable having you evaluate my roof before moving forward with type of repair. Please call me at 773-425-2458 to schedule the $99 Roof Maintenance Package service. I will attempt to call you shortly. Thanks, (removed member name) CHEVY CHASE REMODELING4/4/2014 See the before and after, you had gaps in your gutter around the same area as your ice problems. As you can see we fixed that for you and sealed everything up. You also had some caulking through out needed. Dont forget to give us a good review. Your all set. Steve was great to work with, he had a lot of ideas to share with us when discussing what we wanted done and provided great pricing for the job. The crew was flexible with their work hours and made accommodations to squeeze us into their schedule and get the job done.

Everything went well. We had purchased a roof maintenance package for $99. We spent an extra $200 to replace the cracked pipe collars. They were on time and courteous. We appreciate their service!
Description of Work: Chevy Chase Remodeling came out to check to see if there was an active leak at one of our roof stacks. They also inspected the other roof stacks. They found 3 cracked pipe collars, which they replaced, and they found 2 stacks that needed recaulking. They did the work right on the spot.

1. First of all, Steven and his crew led by Carlos Aguilar, completed the project on time and in budget. We had a very, very old kitchen. It was at least 40 years old and I suspect some of the multiple levels of flooring were older than that. 2. They were very easy to work with, cleaned daily, and listened to some of the problems and modifications we needed to make our kitchen beautiful and functional. 3. They showed up early each day and left late in order to meet our tight schedule 4. They worked very quickly yet with a sense of getting it right and not cutting corners 5. They cleaned up as the went and did a thorough cleaning each night before they left. 6. They were very flexible and had the knowledge/skill to modify items as needed. 7. We thought kitchen re-modeling was going to be a rough life event. Not the case with Chevy Chase Remodeling. 8. We will hire them again for future remodeling needs 9. I highly recommend these folks
Description of Work: They completely demolished a very, very old kitchen: cabinets, floors, sink, some wiring, and counters. Then they installed beautiful cabinets, granite, lighting, and painted walls and ceilings.

Let me start by saying that the end result was good. Overall we are happy with our new bathroom in our basement and we felt like we got a very fair price. However, the experience we had with this company and Steve specifically, was not good. He was often times rude and abrasive and we had several unpleasant confrontations with him. Steve was constantly telling us that our project was complex and that he lived far away; things we understood. But we felt that since Steve came out to give us our initial and final quote he should have best known about the details and location of the project- and had it been too much for his company he should have declined the job. Hearing over and over again how difficult the project was and how far the drive was for his team was an almost daily occurrence and annoyance. Time management was an issue- we often only had 1 person working at a time and the job took 7 days longer than planned, with his crew sometimes not getting to the house until 10. (Steve was quick to point out that our space was very small so it could only accommodate 1 worker- we heard this over and over again, but when time came became a huge issue he managed to have 3 people work on our project). The result was rushed finished project with many small things left undone, in addition they sanded and cut wood resulting in a thick layer of dust all over our house for the entire 3 week project (Steve did have our house cleaned the last day). Steve also was always telling us how he was doing things for us that he would not do for other clients, but nothing that we asked for was not on the original quote. It was a constant battle to ensure that the work being done was what was on our quote. As I said above he could be very abrasive and there were several times I was unsure if he would or could complete the job. He lacks in customer service, which is apparent from his previous responses to clients comments on this site. His main worker, Jose, was very nice and a hard worker and tried his best to clean up after himself. His plumber Bob was not good, rude, dismissive and made and left a mess every time he was here. Because of the issues with communication, time management and rudeness I would not recommend this company.

Response from CHEVY CHASE REMODELING
Please read the first 3 sentences, then read the rest. I wish there was a way I could submit pictures so you could see how nice this project turned out. There were complaints on a daily basis. Whether it was my installer telling her that the tile she purchased (mosiac glass 1 inch by 1 inch) was not recommended for her application and her not liking the way that he said it, or whether it was her setting the alarm and forgetting that we were coming one morning and then blaming us that we were late and that's why the alarm was going off. Or that we said we would be there in the morning and arrived at 9:30 because we had to stop for materials and that was considered too late, or saying that we contacted her friend by phone over 20 times when we did not even have her friends number when the alarm was going off, I could go on and on with the daily complaints. We were asked to drylock a wet basement wall ( was not in the contract) we did it. We were asked to change a threshold that was not in the contract we did it. The client purchased a second hand pedestal sink in which the guts of the plumbing were rotted out and we had to replace everything inside the pedistal sink (we did with out a problem) We went completely over and above for the client. These things take time to do, but yet that did not seem to register with this client. The area was so small and we could only fit 1 person in the area to work, the reason the client heard that several times is because she complained that we only had 1 person working constantly, therefore she heard from me several times the reason we only had 1 person working. Imagine trying to have 2 or 3 people working in a 5 x 5 bathroom in which you had to start from scratch. There was simply no room. We worked on EASTER for this client because she was complaining so much. The day we finished I got home at 1:00 AM in the morning. We started at 8:00 AM that morning. I sent in a cleaning lady that not only cleaned the area that we worked in but the entire house from top to bottom. It took her 10 hours to clean as she cleaned individual pieces of clothing. There were several times when phone calls between the two of us were not pleasant, however I was never rude and never cursed. I just simply stated the facts regarding the complaints she had. She cursed at me,(THE F WORD) told me she was not the one to mess with, and on and on. I held my composure not once cursing or responding to the horrible way in which I was spoken to in a negative capacity. I am a family man, father of 3, husband of 20 years. I take pride in my business and the way I treat people. I try extremely hard to please my clients as you can see in ALL the reviews in which work has been completed. If someone does not want to hear something then it can be considered rude or abrasive when you say it to them. Or sometimes just stating the facts can be considered rude or abrasive if a person does not agree. All I know is in the end the client received a close to perfect bathroom/utility room that we framed, installed electric, ground works plumbing, mechanical duct work, Sewer ejector pump from a dug out 6 foot hole in basement into earth, Tiled floor in hall and bathroom, tiled shower area, painted entire area, ran dedicated lines to panel for utility, installed doors, drylocked wet walls, installed recessed lighting perfectly complete in 3 weeks for $8,000.00 The client referred to us rushing, that's because we were given an ultimatum, finish on this date or your fired, So the very last day we brought in 3 people. 1 was me to run back and forth to Home Depot (6 times) to fetch material. The other was a crew member who worked in the utility area and the other was a crew member who worked in the bathroom. Once things were framed up and dry walled it was easier to fit a few more bodies because now the spaces were defined and there was a little more room to work. Unless you know construction perhaps you would not understand. I never left the job undone, never abandoned the job despite being treated less than good, was there to see the job all the way to the end. The client called us and said the toilet was leaking a week later, we drove 1 hour to Baltimore to find that the toilet was broken. The client did not have the receipt and the box was thrown away. I personally purchased a new toilet and installed it at my expense. The client was responsible for providing all materials in which in the end not everything was provided. We told client once it arrived to let us know and we would come back to install. Once they contacted us and said they had the remaining material. We went back out and installed the shower rod. It takes 1 hour to drive to the job site.Never complained just did it. Finally, I'm not a confrontational person, I never have been. I'm actually very easy to work with, I coach little kids basketball and have a ton of patience. Simple case of Cant get along with everyone, however judging from the way the job turned out, I still managed to complete the project in a timely fashion for a good price and an end result good product. Oh yes and I forgot to mention, The job had so many unforeseeable plumbing, leveling and mechanical issues that I spent 11,000.00 on the project and was paid $8,000.00 (not clients fault) Talk about a deal for the client!!!! All I CAN SAY IS WE DID THE BEST WE COULD AND IM NOT SURE IT WOULD HAVE EVER BEEN GOOD ENOUGH?

The price was very good and the work was excellent. Steve was a pleasure to deal with and we recommend him highly. He met us at Home Depot to pick out materials and then was accommodating of our schedule for the work. I have had numerous things remodeled over many years and Steve was one if the easiest contractors I have worked with.

After I purchased a Big Deal, which was $4,799 for up to 2,000 of roof replacement, and after I sent the provider the drawings showing that it was, indeed under 2,000 ft2, they told me they would only do it for $6,500. they claimed the reason was because it wasn't for the whole roof. classic bait and switch. I canceled the Deal. these guys are crooks.

Response from CHEVY CHASE REMODELING
The facts are, that your roof does not fall into the big deal category. It's sad that we are being labeled as crooks when we are actually the hard working small business trying to assist Angie's List members with valuable deals. Once again a negative review from a client in which not a single service was provided. If your interested in doing business with us please review our ratings in which work has been completed.
