Spectrum provided a very competitive quote for painting our entire house and storage outbuilding. They arrived exactly when they said they would and got the job done on time despite miserable summer weather. They were neat and careful with the landscaping and left the job site spotless each day. The foreman, Edgar, was very friendly and responsive to my requests. it was a pleasure to work with the owner and his entire crew. I am very particular and was completely satisfied with the final result.

Spectrum did an outstanding job on my home. The staff were friendly and professional. The work was exemplary. They left the house in spotless condition at the end of the job. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. He selected the type of paint finish and it looks wonderful. I would definitely use them again.

Spectrum was competitively priced, and came highly recommended by a friend of mine. I was on a pretty tight schedule with coordinating renovations, and the original date given to me was perfect for coordinating with other contractors in the house. I was given an estimate to complete the entire job in 4-5 days, which I thought was incredibly ambitious given the tremendous amount of trim that needed to be done. Fast forward - the job was not started until 2.5 weeks after originally scheduled, which then delayed my other contractors who didn't want to install fixtures, etc, until the painting was done. They were unable to postpone installing the new floors, so I was very worried about them being damaged during the painting process. The first day they started on painting ceilings, which was not in the original agreement. It should be noted that I was not in the house during this time - my general contractor was there. When I found out that the ceilings were being painted, I was told that everything would look bad if I didn't do the ceilings, too, which in fairness, was right, but I didn't like an extra $1750 being sprung on me at the last minute. The walls in the whole house look fantastic. If you only need walls done, go ahead and hire this crew. However, the trim is atrocious. There are brush marks, thin spots, innumerable drips, and poor attention to detail. Even after having the main crew leaders back, there were still multiple problems. There are paint smudges and drips on my brand new floors and fixtures. There is paint on my antique wooden beams that had to be installed before they started, because they started 2.5 weeks late. The job that was quoted me to take 4-5 days took the better part of a month. This was a large job, and frequently there was only one painter sent to work, and reportedly, he put in very short days. When I complained about the quality of work, the owner of the company informed me that it was because of the color paint I had chosen. When I replied that I would have gladly picked something else had he given me limited choices based on what needed to be covered, he didn't have an answer. I expect a painting professional to make recommendations based on his professional experience. The contact person at the company was very hard to be in contact with, not answering phone calls, and slow to answer any text messages or emails. Slow, that is, until he wanted payment. When I refused to pay prior to having a walk through with him to go over issues and problems, he tried to make me feel guilty about not being able to pay his employees on time. I ended up paying some of the bill just to be nice, with good faith that he would make everything right. After the painters spent a day trying to fix mistakes, the owner of the company contacted me for the remaining payment. He did not seem concerned that I was still finding problems, just was interested in payment. Never once was there an I'm sorry for delaying your project, for spilling paint on your stuff, or doing a crappy job. Overall, I got what I paid for. These guys were cheap (not the cheapest, though!), and did a job that I didn't want and didn't have time to do. Bottom line is - if you want it done right, hire someone else or do it yourself.
Description of Work: I hired Spectrum painting to repaint a historic house undergoing renovations prior to me moving in.

From quote to project completion the team at Spectrum was professional and competent. If not for the color on the walls, it would be hard to tell they had been there.
