They came out in July and charged my almost 500 dollars to add Freon and replace a 5 dollar part. Unit they added Freon to, lasted less than 1 day. Came out this week again (9/4) and without asking put 6 lbs of Freon in one unit, turned my other unit off, put lots of pressure for me to finance another unit, and charged me almost 1000. Next day, back to NO AC, and it is almost 100 degrees outside. They only cared about selling me new units, since I wasn't interested they had no interest in actually fixing my unit. I have no proof they actually put as much Freon in as they said they did, and at the end of the day, they did nothing to troubleshoot or repair the units, only bled me of my money. NOW I don't have the money to have it fixed by a legit company!

The service representation, Robert, was unfailingly polite and efficient. He took me through the process with as much detail as this PoliSci major could understand. The proposal was detailed and well laid out. Excellent maintenance package. The only reason we did not go with this company is they proposed a Trane system, we eventually decided to stay with a Lennox system from another highly regarded company.

Very well, wife pleased with their laying down plastic to protect the carpet and wood floors, they vacuumed and cleaned up well after finishing the attic unit, the basement unit used new copper piping which was done well, insulation replaced and both units tested for high pressure leaks and operation.
Description of Work: Two 23 year old heat pumps were replaced by new units. One 3 ton, one 2.5 ton, one each day for a two day installation.

Description of Work: Overcharged via using bait-and-switch techniques. When I called to complain the owner would call me back but deferred it o one of his guys who double-talked me and blow a smoke screen, but not providing me what they charged other customers for the same product. Receptionist woman was generally rude and abrasive and did not have her facts straight.

Description of Work: Replaced 20 yr old Water furnace unit(one of the three separate geo units in this house) with a new Geo unit for the second floor (same manufacturer, much more efficient). Also installed a Mitsubishi Split heat pump to control separately the heating and cooling for two rooms that needed to have separate controls for different temperature requirements. I've used this company for seven years now, for multiple locations, with outstanding service and very competitive prices service/replacement/upgrades for oil fired furnaces, separate a/c units, heat pumps, and now geo-thermal. They are experts. The work was done on schedule, professionally and as estimated. Lastly, they are courteous, careful of your home, friendly and clean up to spic & span levels when finished.

Service person told me we needed Freon in our Outdoor Unit and we needed nine pounds. The cost was quoted as $100.00 per pound. Also stated the Coil in the Indoor Air Handler needed replaced. That is covered under the Trane Limited Warranty but I was told for Labor to install and weld the Coil and nine pounds of Freon the cost would be $1350.00. My husband is very ill and our finances are limited so I could not go ahead with this repair at that time. Good thing. It was a blessing in disguise. We would of been taken. Another company was recommended to me by a relative and that company found a loose Shrader Valve on the Outside Unit. Tightened the valve and replaced the Two pounds of Freon (Not nine). And their cost per pound was $60.00 not $100.00. Total cost for repair was $209.00! Big difference from $1350.00. Its sad that people feel to make a profit they have to take advantage of people. I had thought the repair person was so nice. Showed me a picture of his dog and daughter! Geez, how easy I would of been taken.
Description of Work: Checked our Indoor Air Handler and Outside Unit. I paid the diagnostic fee of $100.00 Had a coupon to discount the price to $94.00

I am on an annual service contract (~$400/year). They are good about reminders and work with you very well on getting the same repair tech out to your house. There is always a 4 hour window; but, they try to get you at the beginning to minimize wait time. Plus, they call you when they are in route. That permits me to leave work to meet them there.

When Bill showed up after two hours he diagnosed the coolant solidified and blocked the circulation. He also recommended a service agreement which I paid for. I paid for half the amount due. One week later without A/C Bill replaced the coil, but three hours labor later he diagnosed the inner coil needed replacing leaving without making the heat pump running with A/C. Before Bill left, I complained about the lack of A/C despite the work done and the hours I took off for the lack of achievement. I did not pay for the balance due. Three days later Brandon showed and in one hour operated the A/C with cool air flowing through the vents. What a difference air technicians make! Also the parts were under warranty, which the company researched. He diagnosed the module was not regulating the inside blower. Six days later Brandon replaced the module along with the harness. I paid the remainder of the bill after looking at the broken part. When getting service with Tri-county Aire, ask for Brandon or Starr. Do not have Bill work on your HVAC.

Had a annual service contract with them for many years.
Description of Work: Had service contract with this company for years. Larger they got the poorer their performance. Had some really good techs but they must have moved on. We do dog rescue so always have number of dogs in the house but put away of course when workmen were scheduled. Would only schedule in half-day windows so I needed to take leave to be there for them. Sometimes they did not show up and tech explained they always tried to schedule too many stops in the day. Finally had some techs that apparently either did not like dogs or were afraid of them or were allergic perhaps. Anyway received letter from their office notifying us that they were cancelling our support contract. No personal contact and no explaination. I would not recommend them to anyone. Many might be better but no one is more expensive. Not a pet friendly group.

Mr. Starr arrived with a meekness but confidence about him. I introduced myself to him, but he did not. He wore his name on his uniform along with the business logo. He asked what was the problem and I told him the heat pump did not turn on. He checked the thermostat and asked to check the fuse box. No circuit was found broken yet. He then went to the crawlspace after asking for snakes or other dangerous animals. He thoroughly looked for any problems. Seven minutes of silence later, he turned on and off the unit and changed a rusty fuse. He then checked the outside unit and explained to me (paraphrasing) "the heat pump turns on and off because of the auxiliary heat warming the house with several degress difference versus the conversion of air to heat with a few degrees difference with thermostat setting" I explained that this solved three years, many hundreds of dollars, and several maintenance calls to this problem, and he listened. I gladly paid him his worth of labor. I felt like I would finally save more money this fall and winter.
Description of Work: Verbally verified what was the problem Checked thermostat Checked if fuse was tripped Checked the blower thoroughly Changed fuse Reset blower and outside unit Explained simply but educated me about my heat pump do's and dont's

They were good about coming out, but they never got back to me with an estimate. The guy who came in was very professional. We ended up having our air conditioner fixed. He was supposed to be looking for a part that needed to be replaced. I think they were waiting for us to call to get an estimate from them to replace the whole unit. I was waiting for them to call me back about the coil. I wasn't thoroughly impressed.
Description of Work: I contacted Tri County Aire Inc about two months ago regarding air conditioner unit.

Overall, they seem very put together, but I would expect them to at least meet me half way instead of just blindly saying it couldn't have been the tech's fault. I didn't press them on it, just gave up as I won't deal with a company that won't admit a possible mistake.
Description of Work: Had a service contract on our heating A/C with tri county. They came out, identified a couple of parts that should be replaced, although not urgent. I thought, fine..they came out and replaced them. All good. A week later we note the back up heat isn't working and call them out, they say the power switch was turned off to the unit and it broke $500 worth of parts. When I questioned how the power would have been turned off to it if it had'nt been the previous tech (I don't touch such things), they claimed that since the previous tech wrote "all systems working" that it couldn't have been him so they wanted me to pay to fix the work. I guess they figure a squirrel crawled under the house and hit the switch to turn it off. D squirrels. Anyway, won't be using them again.

I WOULD NEVER USE THEM!!!!! In fact, if we ever build a home again I want to make sure that Tri County Aire is not only not used but that anyone who has ever worked for them would never be allowed to work on our home heating and air system.
Description of Work: Our developer used Tri County Aire to install our heating and air conditioner in our brand new home and we have had problems from day one and they have been impossible. The company has been so impossible that we had to involve the developer. Our system was never installed properly--we discovered duct work that was never connected when we went to finish our basement. This has been a nightmare for us and we have contacted the developer two months ago to let him know that our problem still exists---he forwarded the email to them and we have yet to hear from them.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS VERY GOOD, TECHNICIAN WAS VERY COMPETENT. HE CLEARLY EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND MY OPTIONS. HE RECOMMENDED ADDING A DYE TO THE REFRIGERANT SO IF THE SYSTEM LOST CHARGE AGAIN, WHICH IT SOON DID, HE COULD IDENTIFY THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK. I WAS CONFIDENT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS EXPENSIVE.
Description of Work: OUR HEATING WAS NOT WORKING WELL. THE HEAT PUMP WAS RUNNING CONTINUOUSLY. THE TECHNICIAN CAME TO TROUBLESHOOT THE SYSTEM. HE FOUND THE SYSTEM WAS LOW ON REFRIGERANT AND RECHARGED IT.
