Mr. Voll and his assistant worked quickly and professionally to measure and install the crown molding and caulked where appropriate. They were respectful of our home even though many items were out of place due to the painting that was being performed in another room. We would hire him again without hesitation.

After their vacation break, they came back and constructed the 2nd level to the deck...consisting of taking out a lot of the brick outside wall and installing a sliding door we had picked out and they bought and delivered it. Just that alone opened up the whole back of the house (dining room) and the trim matched the hardwood floors. We asked them to cover it with a clear varnish and they also touched up all the wall paint around the door. After the foundation was complete and the door installed, it was inspected again and passed. They next installed the aluminum black iron rails we had seen (instead of all wood) according to code. The handrails were trimmed to look decorative and best of all, the steps were designed to go down from the upper landing (about 3-4 feet up) gradually down to the lower landing with the same black inside aluminum rails and decorative handrails. They used lattice wood to cover the area between the bottom of the top level to the bottom of the yard and lower level. Weed killer material and small rocks were poured in to keep down the weeds and we have room to store things if we want. The final step was constructing the pergula over one corner of the upper deck to give us some shade but not block our view of the garden and trees outside. Chip designed it using a picture of one he had done previously and some pictures I found in magazines. It turned out great! And yes, the first thing that went up were 2 big hanging ferns. The entire deck weathered the hurricane with no problem and, of course, passed final inspection. We have gotten a lot off compliments from the neighbors and we just love it! Sandcastle Remodeling not only met but exceeded our expectations!. They arranged for an electrician to come in and install outside lights and outlet.This was all completed in three weeks even with weather stoppages and came in on budget! Last but not least, they also removed all the extra dirt and rocks that were taken out to build the foundation. They cleaned up every day and were always very professional and courteous. We would highly recommend Sandcastle Remodeling to anyone interested in having a deck installed, they also did our vinyl siding and have done a lot of inside work - basements, bathrooms, kitchens, etc. for our neighbors. The job went very well from start to finish. Sandcastle provided competitive pricing and was able to provide a quote for all work requested. Other companies specializing in window replacement were unable to provide a price for door replacement, which would have then required other contracts. Sandcastle, worked steadily and efficiently, performed quality work, and attended to (minor) deficiencies immediately.
